The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me (GL, ABO) - Chapter 8
Ji Yanwan felt a bit embarrassed and was just about to say something to ease the tension when the car came to a stop. The golden sign of Wanguo Huafu shimmered beside the stone lion statues at the entrance.
The car lock clicked, and the door slowly slid open to the side.
She stepped out of the car and stood there, hesitating about how to leave without making things more awkward. Just then, a voice came from inside.
“Miss Ji, you don’t need to worry. I’ll make sure no one talks about what you did to help me earlier.”
Fu Suihe’s tone was calm and emotionless, distant like she was discussing a work matter.
Hearing that, Ji Yanwan looked back at her.
Her face matched her voice—expressionless. Inside the car, there was only the faint scent of disinfectant and alcohol.
Ji Yanwan nodded lightly and raised her hand in a small wave. “Then, goodbye.”
The only response she received was the quiet sound of the automatic door closing. The window slowly rose, now covered with tinted privacy film that blocked any view inside.
The car didn’t linger. Almost the moment Ji Yanwan stepped away, it drove off without hesitation.
She stood there staring at the lingering trail of exhaust, momentarily stunned.
There still seemed to be warmth at the side of her neck where Fu Suihe had touched her, along with that faint, elusive scent of orchid.
But the soft feeling that had brushed her heart like a feather earlier vanished along with the taillights in the distance.
Was Fu Suihe just trying to keep her distance now?
Ji Yanwan frowned. She felt like she couldn’t figure Fu Suihe out at all.
If she was trying to avoid suspicion, then why had she deliberately invited reporters to the banquet earlier?
Even after arriving home, Ji Yanwan still couldn’t understand why Fu Suihe’s attitude had suddenly changed so drastically.
Inside the apartment, Ji Mingtao had just finished bathing Ji Hesong and putting her to bed. While bathing her little sister, some of the water had splashed onto the ends of her own hair, leaving them damp.
She didn’t return to the study. Instead, she sat at her computer with her hair loose and her attention focused on the screen.
When she saw Ji Yanwan walk in, she raised an eyebrow as a silent greeting.
Her sharp eyes quickly noticed the red mark on Ji Yanwan’s neck. She lowered her voice and asked, “What’s with your neck? Who did that?”
Ji Yanwan hesitated and mumbled, “It’s nothing. I was just playing with a stray cat downstairs and probably scratched myself.”
The lie was weak, but since Ji Hesong was already asleep, Ji Mingtao didn’t press further. She simply nodded and turned her attention back to the computer.
Freed from questioning, Ji Yanwan hurried to her room. Once the door was locked, she let out a long breath and flopped onto the bed.
A soft beep followed.
System: “Dear Host, here’s your latest update.”
As the voice faded, the story progress in Ji Yanwan’s mind quietly refreshed.
In the original version, the host lived alone. Her two older sisters, Ji Mingtao and Ji Hesong, lived in another property.
But once, the original host got drunk and brought an Omega home after drugging them. She had tried to force intimacy, but the Omega resisted to the point of nearly dying.
Ji Mingtao had paid a large sum to suppress the incident. After that, the two sisters moved in to keep an eye on Ji Yanwan’s actions.
Reading this part, Ji Yanwan gritted her teeth hard. It was disgusting.
As someone who had read countless stories, Ji Yanwan had two sets of values. Violent obsession or forced romance might be exciting in fiction, but if it happened in real life, her response was very simple.
Call the police. Arrest the freak.
System: “You say that, but you also have a few faces of your own.”
Ji Yanwan rolled over and asked, “This world was built based on my preferences, right?”
System: “Yes, my dear.”
She continued, “Then the forbidden romance tag… who am I supposed to be doing that with?”
System: “Didn’t you say you weren’t into anything twisted?”
Ji Yanwan replied, “You don’t need to read my thoughts out loud. I can hear them. Besides, the original host is already perverse enough. Why am I, a sweet and innocent girl, being punished for it?”
System: “Dearest Host, the storyline has fully loaded. Wishing you a peaceful night.”
System: “Bye now.”
The beep sounded again, and the system went completely silent.
Despite reading hundreds of fast-transmigration novels, this was the first time Ji Yanwan had encountered such an irresponsible system.
Trash. No wonder it came from a pirated novel.
Lying there, she started to feel sleepy. Forcing herself up, she removed her makeup, washed up, and then collapsed into bed.
What she didn’t know was that out in the living room, a phone vibrated softly.
Ji Mingtao opened a new message from an unfamiliar number. Inside were three high-resolution candid photos.
The background showed the engagement banquet from earlier. In the pictures, two figures—one dressed in green, the other in white were locked in a kiss, arms wrapped tightly around each other.
The angle was perfect. Both of their faces were captured clearly.
Her younger sister, who had claimed she was just going back to retrieve something, had actually been holding someone’s face and kissing them deeply.
Ji Mingtao looked up, her eyes fixed on the tightly shut door of Ji Yanwan’s room. Her phone was already dialing that unfamiliar number.
All she heard from the other end was a busy signal.
Ji Yanwan had a peaceful night’s sleep. By the time sunlight streamed in through the curtains, she was already awake, lying in bed and staring blankly at the ceiling.
She had fallen asleep before ten the night before. It was her first time being this well-disciplined, and oddly enough, it happened inside a novel world.
Still, by the time she finished lazily getting up and washing up, it was already well past breakfast.
The apartment was empty. Her two sisters had left at some point without her noticing.
Ji Yanwan thought back to the original character’s settings. She was only twenty years old, yet somehow had nothing to do all day.
Did she not go to school?
The answer appeared quickly.
Amid a pile of documents on the coffee table was a glaring disciplinary notice, mixed in awkwardly with other paperwork.
[Student: Ji Yanwan. Due to repeated incidents of fighting, failing all subjects, and serious violations of school regulations, this student is placed on academic probation. This notice serves as an official warning.]
Well, that explained it. She had the full collection of troublemaker badges.
Back in her original world, Ji Yanwan had been a top student, consistently earning national scholarships and even serving as an outstanding student leader for four straight years in university.
Now, she had transformed into a spoiled, reckless disaster.
Clicking her tongue, Ji Yanwan slumped back onto the sofa and once again marveled at how patient her sisters were to still tolerate her.
Just as she was zoning out, her phone rang in her pocket.
She answered, and Meng Jiayu’s voice came bursting through the speaker.
“Wanwan, I got dumped! I’m heartbroken! I need a new little sister to fill the hole in my heart!”
Ji Yanwan winced and held the phone away from her ear. “Then maybe you should be calling a matchmaking service, not me.”
Meng Jiayu replied, “I’m one traffic light away from your building. Get up. I’ll be knocking on your door in five minutes.”
Before Ji Yanwan could protest, the call ended.
The rejection that had been on the tip of her tongue: completely wasted.
True to her word, Meng Jiayu arrived exactly five minutes later, banging on the front door like she was trying to break it down.
The moment she stepped in, she flung herself into Ji Yanwan’s arms, wailing like the world had ended.
Unable to stop her, Ji Yanwan sighed and asked helplessly, “Where are we going?”
Catching the shift in tone, Meng Jiayu’s eyes lit up. She immediately stopped crying. “A friend of mine recently picked up a new hobby and invited me to check it out. It’s full of beautiful people. I promise there’ll be someone who’s just your type.”
Ji Yanwan frowned. “I’m not going for myself. I’ll go with you, that’s all. Now, where are we going?”
“A film set!” Meng Jiayu beamed. “My friend’s working on a show that hasn’t been publicly announced yet. It’s all top secret right now, so you don’t have to worry about your sisters finding out.”
A film set?
Ji Yanwan’s right eye twitched. Something didn’t feel right.
