The Black Lotus Villainess Only Wants To Possess Me - Chapter 2
The body in her arms was burning hot. Ye Chengxing, a doctor, immediately deduced from the various signs that Li Jia had a fever.
She recalled some details she had previously overlooked.
Li Jia’s fever didn’t seem accidental, but rather deliberately induced. The person who had left the room earlier had hinted at this with a suggestive tone: “A feverish person… they feel quite different in bed.”
Realizing the full implications, Ye Chengxing couldn’t help but curse under her breath.
What kind of scum are these people?
The drug’s effects were now in full force. The Omega seemed to be losing consciousness, yet she remained wary and resistant even when held close. Ye Chengxing steadied herself, gently patted Li Jia’s back, and spoke soothingly, “Li Jia, I’m taking you to the hospital.”
Whether Li Jia understood or not, she bit down hard on her lip, the bl00d rushing to her lips making them even more crimson.
At that moment, the image of the smiling figure falling from the high-rise building overlapped with the Omega in her arms. Ye Chengxing felt a sharp pang in her heart.
She took off her own coat and draped it over Li Jia, then lifted her into her arms.
Despite Li Jia’s height of over 1.7 meters, she felt as light as a paper doll in Ye Chengxing’s arms. Her waist was so slender it seemed barely graspable. Ye Chengxing tightened the coat, cradling Li Jia against her chest, the coat completely enveloping the Omega.
Though Ye Chengxing moved as gently as possible, Li Jia still sensed her presence. The drug’s effects had overwhelmed her body, making her desperately crave comfort from an Alpha.
The faint scent of white peach pheromones drifted around Ye Chengxing, but their source let out a pained whimper. Li Jia opened her mouth and bit down hard on Ye Chengxing’s shoulder, the force of the bite drawing beads of bl00d to the surface almost instantly.
Even with Li Jia’s teeth sunk into her shoulder, Ye Chengxing remained still, steadily carrying her out of the room. She murmured soothing words into the Omega’s ear, repeating, “Li Jia, don’t be afraid. I won’t do anything to you. We’ll be at the hospital soon…”
Truthfully, the bite hurt quite a bit, but the pain was overshadowed by her overwhelming heartache and tenderness for Li Jia.
Ye Chengxing didn’t know why System 001 had chosen her, nor why it had placed her in this world. Perhaps it was fate, or some other reason, but since she was here, she would do everything in her power to heal Li Jia.
It wasn’t just about completing the mission. When she thought about the future plot and the person in her arms’ past, she found it impossible to remain indifferent.
The night deepened, plunging into the darkest hours. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the night sky hung heavy, and beneath its cloak, the revelry of the night had reached its peak.
The banquet hall had transformed into a scene of utter debauchery.
The soundproof walls had muffled the chaos earlier, but now, stepping out of the room, a single glance down the corridor revealed Alphas and Omegas indulging in unrestrained lust. The sounds of splashing water, ragged breathing, and lewd words filled the air.
Ye Chengxing wasn’t the only one who heard these sounds; Li Jia clearly did too.
The most immediate sign was the sudden intensification of the trembling in the Omega’s body. Noticing this change, Li Jia bit Ye Chengxing even harder, her bite filled with such intense hatred that it nearly tore a chunk of flesh from her shoulder.
Ye Chengxing felt the skin on her shoulder had gone numb. She could even smell the metallic tang of bl00d and feel it trickling down from the wound.
Despite the pain, she didn’t loosen her grip on Li Jia. Instead, she held her tighter and gently covered Li Jia’s ears with one hand, her touch soft and steady.
The woman’s hand was soft and warm. Caught off guard by the gesture, the Omega in her arms seemed to freeze for a moment.
Ye Chengxing walked down the long corridor, unsure how much time had passed. She heard the original owner’s friends calling out to her amidst the chaos of Alphas and Omegas crowding the hallway. Their presence made her and Li Jia stand out even more.
“Tsk, tsk, A-Cheng,” one of them said, his voice dripping with lewd amusement. “You’re really living up to your newly awakened Alpha status, huh? Already playing her into unconsciousness? Don’t worry, you can’t kill her. But since you’re done, why not let me have a taste?”
Ye Chengxing vaguely remembered this man. When she first opened her eyes, he had been standing beside her in the room. His name was Zhang Shanle, a “regular” in this circle.
Zhang Shanle approached with a smile, holding a glass of red wine in one hand and an Omega in her arms. The corridor’s dazzling lights made Ye Chengxing suddenly feel a wave of nausea. She glared at her original body’s trashy friend.
The coldness in Ye Chengxing’s eyes was unmistakable. Zhang Shanle’s practiced smile froze, but she forced herself to speak casually, “What’s wrong, A-Cheng? You’ve already tasted everything. Can’t I even have a sip of the leftover soup? You’re being so unreasonable…”
Before she could finish, the Alpha in front of her suddenly released her pheromones. The gentle scent of oolong tea instantly turned icy, radiating an instinctive sense of dread.
“Get out of my way. I won’t say it again,” Ye Chengxing said coldly.
By the time Zhang Shanle realized what had happened, she found herself sprawled on the floor. Ye Chengxing had already carried Li Jia out of the corridor.
The wine glass slipped from her grasp, red wine dripping steadily from its rim.
Staring at the floor, she muttered to herself, “Ye Chengxing is just a useless second-generation wastrel… When did her pheromones become so aggressive?”
After exiting the corridor and walking a little further, they completely left the banquet venue.
As soon as Ye Chengxing left the banquet, the surrounding air felt noticeably fresher.
The original owner of her body had arrived in a car with her group of frivolous friends. If Ye Chengxing hadn’t transmigrated today, the original owner would have left with them as well.
But Ye Chengxing had arrived and altered the plot, so naturally, she wouldn’t be leaving with that group of friends.
The banquet venue wasn’t far from the city center, a bustling area. But perhaps their current appearance seemed out of place, because every passing driver sped by without daring to stop.
After finally flagging down a car, the driver only stopped because he hadn’t seen them clearly. Just as he was about to step on the gas and refuse the fare, Ye Chengxing noticed his intention, strode forward, yanked open the car door, and pulled Li Jia inside. She gave the nearest hospital as their destination.
With passengers in the car and the destination given, the driver didn’t immediately start driving. Instead, he glanced nervously at the rearview mirror, his eyes widening visibly when he noticed the Buddhist prayer beads on Ye Chengxing’s wrist. “M-Miss Ye,” he stammered, “would you… perhaps prefer another car?”
Ye Chengxing’s eyebrows twitched slightly when the driver immediately addressed her by her surname. In a flash, she seemed to understand why the other taxis had refused to stop, despite seeing her hailing them and having no other passengers.
“No, I won’t switch,” Ye Chengxing said firmly.
Getting a taxi had been difficult enough. This one had only stopped because the driver hadn’t recognized her at first. If she let this one go, she’d have no choice but to carry Li Jia all the way to the hospital. Even if she could walk that far, Li Jia couldn’t afford to wait any longer.
Hearing her refusal, the driver looked on the verge of tears but finally gritted his teeth and agreed.
Despite already suspecting the reason for his fear, Ye Chengxing asked, “Are you afraid of me?”
The driver nearly blurted out, “Isn’t that obvious?” but managed to swallow the words. He forced a nervous smile. “No, no, not at all! It’s just hot in here. But… well, most drivers around here probably recognize Miss Ye.”
Ye Chengxing fell into thoughtful silence.
Due to the urgency of the situation, she had only skimmed the System’s summary of the plot, without delving into the original owner’s memories.
I’ll review them properly once Li Jia’s condition stabilizes at the hospital, she decided.
After making that statement, the driver fell silent. Ye Chengxing noticed beads of cold sweat dripping down his cheeks and decided not to press further. Any remaining questions would likely be answered once she had thoroughly reviewed the original owner’s memories.
Her silence seemed to relieve the driver, and the car settled into a tense quiet.
But then Li Jia began to fidget.
In truth, Li Jia’s emotions had stabilized after they left the gathering. She had relaxed, resting quietly in Ye Chengxing’s arms.
Now, however, she seemed overheated, squirming restlessly.
Still wearing only that thin veil from the party, with Ye Chengxing’s coat draped over her, the Omega kept trying to push the coat aside and tug at the flimsy fabric covering her body.
From this angle, Ye Chengxing could glimpse slivers of moonlight revealed by Li Jia’s movements. The Omega’s cheeks flushed with arousal, her lips parted slightly, and her warm breath brushed against Ye Chengxing’s skin.
Ye Chengxing felt her face grow warm. She averted her gaze, first trying to hold the coat in place, but then realizing she couldn’t manage both the coat and Li Jia. In the end, she firmly gripped Li Jia’s wrists, her voice soothing: “We’ll be at the hospital soon. Just bear with it a little longer, okay?”
Even though Ye Chengxing had lowered her voice, the driver in the front seat couldn’t help but overhear the commotion in the car. The driver, listening to Ye Chengxing’s gentle tone, held his breath in fear.
Ye Chengxing gripped Li Jia’s wrist, finally calming the Omega down somewhat. Hearing her soothing voice, Li Jia opened her eyes and looked at Ye Chengxing. A thin sheen of sweat glistened on her skin, and a few strands of hair had fallen across her lips.
Li Jia’s gaze at Ye Chengxing was indescribably complex, a mixture of drug-induced lust, the agony of losing control over her own actions, and an endless well of suspicion and distrust. Woven through it all was a thread of loathing.
Ye Chengxing met her gaze, her eyes sweeping across the Omega’s cheek before pausing and raising her hand.
Li Jia’s pupils constricted sharply at the sight of the raised hand.
But the expected action never came. Ye Chengxing merely reached out to tuck the stray strand of hair behind Li Jia’s ear, her voice soft, tinged with tenderness and encouragement. “Li Jia, don’t be afraid. We’re out now. You’ll feel better once we get to the hospital. Just hang on a little longer, okay?”
Their current position was rather intimate. The back seat of the taxi wasn’t particularly spacious to begin with, and they weren’t even sitting side by side; instead, one was nestled in the other’s lap.
The scenery outside the window blurred past in a rapid retreat, the warm yellow glow of streetlights occasionally illuminating the interior.
In this close proximity, Ye Chengxing noticed Li Jia’s exceptionally long and thick eyelashes. Combined with the lingering redness at the corners of her eyes, she looked like a rabbit spirit with tear-stained eyes.
Unable to resist, Ye Chengxing reached out and gently ruffled Li Jia’s long hair.
Caught off guard by the sudden touch, Li Jia seemed momentarily stunned. But she quickly recovered, her gaze hardening as her lips parted slightly, as if to utter a threat. Before she could speak, however, her body went limp and she collapsed into Ye Chengxing’s arms.
Watching Li Jia’s closed eyes, Ye Chengxing reached out to touch her forehead. As expected, it was even hotter than before.
