The Black Lotus Villainess Only Wants To Possess Me - Chapter 7
The doctor didn’t grasp the deeper meaning behind Li Jia’s words. Hearing her response, his first thought was that he had misunderstood, and he felt a pang of embarrassment. “I’m sorry…”
Li Jia smiled warmly, her arms already cradling flowers, making her appear even more innocent and harmless.
Just then, Ye Chengxing returned after completing the discharge procedures, catching the doctor’s apologetic gaze. His tone was sincere as he said, “I’m sorry, I’ve misunderstood you these past few days.”
Ye Chengxing paused, then replied, “It’s alright.”
Actually… it wasn’t entirely a misunderstanding. This was because she had transmigrated here. If she hadn’t, the “Ye Chengxing” of this world would indeed have been the kind of degenerate Alpha the doctor perceived.
With the discharge formalities completed, Li Jia followed Ye Chengxing into the elevator.
Ye Chengxing had parked her car in the hospital parking lot.
She had driven it over after Li Jia’s condition improved.
*******
Over the past two days, Ye Chengxing’s trashy friends had been sending her messages incessantly, but she ignored them all.
Once they were in the car, she handed Li Jia a beautifully wrapped small box with a smile. “A discharge gift,” she said.
Li Jia accepted the box, her eyes flickering with a hint of anticipation.
She opened it, and as expected.
Inside was the latest model smartphone.
This world has changed too much, she thought, but then she remembered Ye Chengxing’s peculiar tastes and found it oddly logical.
Yet, upon closer reflection, a faint sense of unease lingered.
All Li Jia possessed now was a face and a body, and she had been acting sufficiently dependent and trusting. Yet, after all these days, Ye Chengxing hadn’t slipped up once, growing only more attentive and considerate.
This Ye Chengxing bore a subtle resemblance to her previous incarnation, but… something felt fundamentally different.
Ye Chengxing started the car, glancing sideways at Li Jia during a pause.
The Omega clutched the box, her fingers tightening, her expression momentarily frozen.
Ye Chengxing felt a twinge of nervousness. She didn’t truly understand this world, even with the memories she had and the original texts she’d read. These everyday details hadn’t been mentioned in detail by either of the two entities, so she wasn’t sure if this phone was considered good. Thinking Li Jia disliked it, she said, “If you don’t like it, we can exchange it for another one. It’s no problem.”
Li Jia took the phone out of the box. The cool touch of the device against her skin made her suddenly chuckle silently.
“No, it’s just… I didn’t expect you to buy me a phone, Sister. It’s a bit sudden, especially since before, they never let me touch things like this…” Li Jia lowered her lashes, her voice perfectly masking her true feelings.
She found herself intrigued, unable to guess Ye Chengxing’s next move.
Was Ye Chengxing planning to keep being kind to her, win her heart, and then crush it underfoot?
If so, she hoped Ye Chengxing would try harder. This level of effort wasn’t nearly enough to amuse her.
Ye Chengxing was completely unaware of Li Jia’s thoughts. Focused on driving, she kept her eyes fixed on the road.
Ever since witnessing that flying taxi, Ye Chengxing had diligently studied this world’s traffic laws, memorizing them thoroughly. For now, she still preferred driving on the ground. She planned to try aerial driving later, when she was alone in the car and the roads were clear.
As Ye Chengxing drove, listening to the Omega’s cautious, lonely, and confused tone, her mind drifted back to those scum. A wave of heartache washed over her. The villain is such a poor thing, she thought, her sympathy growing stronger. She nearly blurted out, “What’s a phone? I’ll buy you anything you want, sis!”
But blurting that out would clearly lead to misunderstandings. After all, her relationship with Li Jia hadn’t yet reached that level of intimacy. Though she had asked Li Jia to call her “sis,” the Omega might still find her kindness somewhat inexplicable.
Given the current circumstances, there was no logical reason for such a gesture. She needed to proceed gradually.
Ye Chengxing silently repeated the phrase three times to calm herself before changing the subject. “Oh, I found an empty house for you, but it’s not ready yet. Would you mind staying at my place for now?”
Li Jia listened to her voice, a flicker of interest in her eyes.
Is she finally showing her true colors?
Though Li Jia wasn’t quite done playing, no game ever feels long enough.
She slowly parted her lips, like a hunter who had finally caught her prey, yet remained unhurried. “Sister, wouldn’t that be too much trouble for you?”
“Not at all,” Ye Chengxing replied. By then, they had arrived at the villa district. She parked the car, got out, and opened the door for Li Jia. “Just make yourself at home.”
Li Jia picked up her phone and cradled the gift box in her arms, as if it were something precious. She lowered her gaze, looking bashful, and murmured softly, “Sister, you’re so kind to me. I’ll definitely repay you.”
From Ye Chengxing’s blind spot, the Omega’s pupils trembled violently with excitement and delight.
Killing her in her own home… that might be a good choice too.
Ye Chengxing had spent most of the past two days at the hospital, tending to Li Jia. Whenever she needed anything, she either had her assistant deliver it or bought new items directly.
Yesterday, she returned briefly to drive one of the cars from the garage to the hospital, parking it there for Li Jia’s use upon discharge today.
Her reluctance to stay at the villa stemmed from two reasons: first, Li Jia’s absence, and second, the villa’s oppressive decor. Bl00d-red hues permeated the entire space, and the original owner had filled it with bizarre, collected curiosities. Spending too much time there made Ye Chengxing feel mentally suffocated. She immediately instructed the Artificial Intelligence to remodel the villa, simultaneously updating its own appearance. However, due to the extensive changes, the process would take over ten hours, with completion timed perfectly for Li Jia’s discharge.
Though she had already encountered Artificial Intelligence in daily life, Ye Chengxing still felt slightly disoriented when the AI rushed toward her as she opened the door.
The AI had transformed from its previous grotesque, human-head-like form into a pure white, spherical robot with four metallic wheels. A display screen mounted where its face would be showed facial features represented by emoticons, giving it an endearingly cheerful appearance, like a radiant little sun.
“Master, you’re finally home!”
With a whoosh, it glided over to Li Jia’s side, its tone becoming noticeably more polite and formal. “This person seems new, Master. Should I add them to my memory?”
Ye Chengxing couldn’t help but react subtly to the Artificial Intelligence’s use of “Master.” She quickly replied, “Yes, please do.”
Recalling the general procedure from her memory, she knew that the AI would follow her voice commands. So, she clearly pronounced Li Jia’s name, emphasizing the specific characters to ensure accurate registration.
Once Li Jia was registered, the AI’s demeanor instantly warmed up. It busied itself fetching slippers and taking their coats.
Ye Chengxing couldn’t help but marvel silently at how incredibly convenient this world’s advanced technology was.
The AI worked with remarkable efficiency. The villa’s decor was now uniformly bright and airy, with numerous spare rooms, each meticulously cleaned and ready for immediate occupancy.
Ye Chengxing’s own room was on the second floor. She glanced at the Omega still standing at the doorway and smiled warmly. “Li Jia, you can choose any room you like. I’ve already registered your information. If you need anything, just ask… Xiao Bai for help.”
Ye Chengxing paused awkwardly, realizing the original owner hadn’t named the villa’s Artificial Intelligence. Calling it simply “Artificial Intelligence” felt strange, and being terrible at naming things, she blurted out “Xiao Bai” on the spot.
After this impromptu naming, she pondered for a moment.
Hmm, a small, round, white robot… Xiao Bai actually suits it quite well.
This villa was usually occupied by only one Alpha. Li Jia was the only other registered resident besides Ye Chengxing.
Li Jia met Ye Chengxing’s smiling gaze, suddenly unable to decipher her intentions. For the first time, she doubted her own assumptions.
Ye Chengxing hadn’t made any effort to hide the registration process, so Li Jia had clearly seen that the permissions granted to her were identical to Ye Chengxing’s own.
This meant Li Jia now had full administrative control over the entire villa, including all passwords. If she wanted to do something, Ye Chengxing would have no way of knowing.
Why would Ye Chengxing grant me such high-level access?
*******
Having returned from her previous life, Li Jia recognized this as the villa where Ye Chengxing had lived, despite the changed decor. It wasn’t a place Ye Chengxing had bought specifically to house some pampered “golden bird,” but knowing this only deepened Li Jia’s confusion.
Hadn’t she seen countless close relationships crumble over access control issues?
Why would Ye Chengxing invest so heavily, granting her the highest level of authority just to win this game? Wasn’t she afraid of gambling everything and losing it all?
Li Jia watched the Artificial Intelligence rolling around in the sunlight nearby, its face displaying a cheerful emoticon. Bright sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, reflecting off the light-colored flooring with an almost blinding intensity.
She couldn’t help but wonder why Ye Chengxing’s world always seemed so dazzlingly bright in this life.
Too bright.
As if the light had pierced her eyes, Li Jia averted her gaze. “Sister, aren’t you afraid I’ll do something with such high access privileges? Or do you grant this level of authority to everyone you bring home?”
Ye Chengxing froze for a moment, then quickly denied it. “How could I possibly grant such high privileges to just anyone I bring home?”
As she spoke, Ye Chengxing met Li Jia’s gaze across the short distance between them.
Her eyes curved into a radiant smile. “But you’re the one who came home with me. I trust you.”
