The Blind Love Life of the Returning Hero: The Companions I Lost in Another World Resurrect in the Modern Era and Indulge Me - Episode 11
On the promised day, Hayato, Lili, and Josuke gathered at the international arrivals lobby of Haneda Airport. They were waiting for Seika’s arrival.
“What flight was it again?”
Hayato asked while looking up at the electronic board.
“A direct flight from LA. It should be arriving in about ten minutes,”
Josuke replied as he checked his smartphone. Beside him, Lili fidgeted with the strap of her bag, looking a little restless.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing Seika again.”
“Yeah, I can’t wait to see her.”
As they chatted, passengers began emerging from the arrival gate one after another.
Eventually, they spotted the person they had been waiting for—Seika.
Although she wasn’t wearing a lab coat, she was walking with a group of scholarly-looking men and women, all dressed in suits. They were probably members of the same academic society or research project. Seika herself wore a refined dark gray suit, her hair elegantly tied back.
When she spotted Hayato and the others, her serious expression softened into a warm smile. She said something to a middle-aged man who looked like a professor and left the group, walking over to Hayato and the others. Her tall, well-proportioned figure and graceful gait resembled that of a model.
“Thank you for coming to pick me up,”
Seika said confidently. Then, standing in front of Hayato, she straightened her posture and gave a slight bow.
“And… it’s been a while, Lord Hayato.”
Her attitude changed drastically, becoming suddenly formal and respectful only toward Hayato—an attitude full of deference not shown to anyone else. If her colleagues saw her like this, they would undoubtedly be shocked. Normally, Seika interacted even with esteemed professors or corporate executives with a dignified air of equality.
But with Hayato, it was different. He was the former Hero who once saved the world. He was special.
“It’s been a while, Celestia… I mean, Seika now, right?”
Hayato scratched his head, looking a bit shy.
“Yes, please call me that,”
she replied with a smile.
“That being said, I’ll switch to a more casual tone now. We’re in public, after all.”
“Yeah, that’s more comfortable for me too.”
Seeing her revert to her usual demeanor, Hayato let out a small sigh of relief and nodded.
After the formal greeting, Seika began talking to Hayato more casually.
Then, she turned her gaze to Lili.
“It’s our first time meeting here in this world, but… it’s been a while, Lilia.”
“Yeah. Long time no see, Celestia.”
Tears welled up in Lili’s eyes as she smiled, overjoyed by the reunion.
The two of them naturally embraced. The beautiful girl and elegant woman hugging each other drew more than a few glances from onlookers at the airport.
“But Lili, you’ve gotten so small and cute,”
Seika said, placing a hand on her shoulder.
“And you’ve changed, too. You look so mature now… so dignified,”
Lili replied, gazing up at Seika with a hint of envy.
They exchanged comments, observing how each other had changed.
“Back in the other world, I was still a youngster—only about a hundred years old,”
Seika said in a low voice.
“But now I’m thirty. That’s roughly three hundred in elf years. Naturally, I look different.”
“I see…”
Lili responded, her expression slightly melancholic.
“So this version of Seika really is human now, huh?”
“Yeah… thankfully.”
Seika smiled gently in response to Lili’s words.
“Now I can spend time with all of you. Nothing makes me happier.”
The two continued talking, bound by a mysterious connection that intertwined memories of another world with human emotions—an unspoken bond that words couldn’t express.
After some time chatting with Lili, Seika turned her gaze to Josuke.
“Thanks for keeping in touch, Jon—ah, I mean, Josuke. Thanks to you, my return has been truly joyful.”
“Yeah, I’m glad, Seika.”
Josuke returned her smile warmly.
Seika had mainly been in contact with Josuke, who also informed her about Hayato and Lili. It was Josuke who had arranged for the three of them to meet her at the airport today. Expressing her gratitude, she shook hands with her comrades.
“So, where’s your luggage?”
Hayato asked, glancing around.
“My work equipment and larger items were shipped separately,”
Seika said, gesturing to the carry-on case at her side.
“This is all I have with me.”
“Then… would you like to hang out a bit? Maybe find a place to talk?”
As they began discussing what to do next after their reunion, Seika made a proposal.
“Before that, there’s somewhere I want us all to go together.”
“Where to?”
Hayato asked, and Seika replied.
“A hospital.”
“A hospital?”
The three of them spoke in unison, surprised by the unexpected destination. Concerned that she might be ill, they looked at her anxiously, but Seika calmly explained.
“Don’t worry—I’m not sick… although a checkup might reveal something. But I want to examine your physical conditions, just in case.”
She lowered her voice slightly and continued.
“I want to investigate any possible effects from the phenomenon a few months ago. Hayato, I heard you had pain that lasted for a month after returning from the other world?”
“Yeah.”
Hayato answered, recalling the month of pain after his return.
“I also want to check for any changes due to reincarnation, or the sudden return of memories from the other world. Preferably today, if possible.”
“Is it really that urgent?”
Josuke asked, frowning slightly.
“It’s just a precaution,”
Seika replied, displaying the calm demeanor of a professional.
“My intuition tells me there’s nothing wrong, but as a doctor, I want to be certain.”
After hearing her explanation, the three accepted her suggestion and agreed to go to the hospital she recommended.
“If we’re in a hurry, should we get a taxi?”
“No, let’s take my car,”
Seika said.
“It’s parked in the airport garage.”
Carrying her luggage, the four left the airport. Their emotions were a mix of nostalgia and excitement for the new everyday life that was about to begin.
They climbed into the luxury foreign car Seika drove and headed for the hospital. As they looked out at the cityscape from the windows, Hayato found himself deep in thought.
The companions he had once lost in another world were now gathering once again in the modern era. It was nothing short of a miracle.
Squinting against the sunlight streaming through the window, Hayato reflected on this peaceful life—so different from their days of battle—and understood better than anyone how precious it truly was.
