- Episode 33 - A Major Announcement
“Hello, good evening. Welcome to the stream once again.”
With Hayato’s greeting, the stream began. On screen appeared the avatars of Hayato and Lilia. Today’s stream would be hosted by the two of them.
In their line of sight—next to the camera—a monitor displayed the live comment section, where viewer messages scrolled rapidly from top to bottom.
—What’s the big announcement?
—I’ve had a bad feeling about this for a while now.
—Did something happen?
—It’s not a Hayato’s or anything, right?
—I was so nervous I couldn’t sleep last night!
Noticing the many worried comments, Lilia hurriedly waved her hand.
“Ah, sorry for making you all worry! It’s good news, so please don’t be anxious!”
With her reassurance, the atmosphere in the comments instantly changed.
—Thank goodness~ I was panicking.
—If it’s good news, can we get excited?
—Now I’m nervous in a different way!
“I think it’ll be happy news for everyone, so please look forward to it,” Lilia said with a gentle smile to the viewers.
—Seriously? What is it? Tell us!
—No idea what it could be.
—New outfits? A new character?
Seeing the wave of guesses in the comments, Lilia looked a bit nervous.
“Ah, um, with all this anticipation, now I’m getting a little anxious myself.”
“It’s fine,” Hayato said as he gave her shoulder a gentle pat.
“I’m sure they’ll be thrilled.”
“Thanks, Hayato. Well then, it’s not something we need to drag out, so let’s go ahead and share the news.”
With a firm tone, Lilia declared her decision.
She operated the keyboard, and part of the stream screen switched. Displayed was a vibrant graphic, a sleek title screen, and Hayato and Lilia’s avatars standing proudly.
The comment section froze for a moment—then exploded in activity. Messages flooded in at lightning speed.
—Huh? What is this?
—An anime adaptation? A movie?
—It’s animated… No, a game title?
—A game?! Seriously?
—Whoa! The quality is insane!
“This is a game that Lilia has been developing,” Hayato proudly announced.
Lilia continued with an explanation.
“We’re planning to make it available for everyone to play in the future.”
—I love games! What kind of game is it?
—You made this yourself? That’s amazing!
—Let us see some gameplay!
—I wanna see the play screen!
“Yes, I figured you’d be curious about the content, so we’ll be playing it for you right now.”
“Let’s get into it.”
Hayato picked up a game controller. On screen, their avatar followed suit, holding up a controller as well. Viewers could watch them play in real time.
—Game stream!? I thought this was just a chat!
—Woooah! I wanna see this!
—Isn’t this their first game stream? Wait, they play games?
“That’s right. Today we’re doing something different—a game stream,” Lilia explained.
“This is a special project, based on the story of our adventure,” Hayato added.
He started the game, and the opening movie began to play: a fantasy world, bustling royal capital, incoming enemies, and the terrifying presence of the Demon King.
Their adventures were depicted in beautifully rendered graphics. The BGM was dynamic and cinematic. In fact, the soundtrack had been created in collaboration with a composer, incorporating various elements from their otherworldly experiences. That’s why the music felt so familiar to both Hayato and Lilia.
—What is this quality!? Isn’t it way too good?
—Is this really self-made? Feels like a major studio release!
—That opening is god-tier
—The graphics are basically professional quality
—I already want to play this
—When is it coming out?
“Wow, this is amazing,” Hayato said, moved as he watched the opening and listened to the music.
“I got to play a little of it before, but now that I’m seeing it again, I’m honestly blown away.”
“I’ve made quite a few adjustments since then. A lot has changed,” Lilia said.
“I see. Still, it’s incredible.”
Hayato was clearly impressed. As the opening ended, gameplay began. When he moved the controller, the Hayato character on screen responded and began to move.
“The controls are simple, and the character moves just how I expect,” Hayato explained while moving his character.
“In the beginning, I used a steel sword provided by the kingdom, right? It took a lot of effort before I finally got the holy sword.”
“Yes, getting the holy sword—which is needed to defeat the Demon King—comes much later. For now, attacks are with this button, and jumping is with this one.”
While Lilia explained, they showed how to control the character.
—So it’s an action game?
—The movements are so stylish
—I want to know more about the holy sword
—The characters move naturally, but even the NPCs are amazing!
—You can go into places like that?
On screen, Hayato’s character walked through the beautifully rendered royal capital. He spoke to NPCs, collected items, and advanced through the first small quest.
“This part of the story is what we talked about in an earlier stream,” Lilia explained.
“It takes place shortly after Hayato was summoned to the other world.”
—Ah, I remember this!
—I heard that in a past stream!
—So this game lets us relive Hayato’s adventure?
“Relive the adventure! Exactly—that’s the idea,” Lilia said, nodding happily.
“We wanted everyone to be able to experience Hayato and the others’ journey more directly.”
The game progressed, and Hayato reached the first dungeon. There, he began to battle enemies.
Hayato reflected. Just like in the game, he had once ventured into dungeons, learning how to fight in real life, training hard to overcome enemies. The game brought back those memories.
