The Blind Love Life of the Returning Hero: The Companions I Lost in Another World Resurrect in the Modern Era and Indulge Me - Episode 52
In the church anteroom, Hayato gently adjusted the sleeve of his white tuxedo. The simple, elegant design suited his trim figure perfectly. Soft light streaming through the window lent the room a sacred atmosphere.
“It’s almost time,” he murmured softly, his voice betraying his nerves. Not even facing the Demon Lord in another world had made his heart pound as fiercely as it did today. Staring at his reflection in the mirror, he recalled the past days: the battles in that other world, the reunion in the modern era, and this special day. All events seemed to lead to this very moment.
“Hayato, it’s about time,” Go and Josuke appeared as the door opened. They too were dressed in formal suits, looking more refined than usual. Josuke scanned the room with his usual sharp, observant eyes, then smiled as if seeing through Hayato’s nervousness.
“Nervous?”
“Yeah, a little.”
Hayato answered Josuke’s question honestly.
“Only natural. It’s one of the most important days of your life,” Go said.
“Go on out.”
“Yeah.”
At Go’s signal, Hayato took a deep breath and left the anteroom. Then, guided by a church staff member, he waited.
“Please, come in.”
Following the signal, he entered the church interior and was enveloped by its solemn atmosphere. Light filtering down from the high ceiling shone through stained glass, glowing in seven colors. Feeling the gazes of the attendees lining both sides, Hayato slowly walked forward.
Among the seated guests, he saw his parents. His mother was already teary-eyed, and his father wore an uncharacteristically proud expression. His younger brother and sister were there too – the entire Sato family gathered. Next to them were Tetsumura Go, his wife Kaede, and their two children. Go nodded quietly, offering an encouraging look.
On the opposite side was Seika. She was dressed in an elegant gown. Next to her were the illustrator Sawa-san, President Yasumoto, and colleagues from the security company.
Watched over by so many people, Hayato felt the happiness of reaching this day.
Hayato stood before the altar. After a moment, the church organ began to play softly. As the solemn tones of the Wedding March filled the air, everyone turned to look toward the back.
At the entrance to the aisle stood Riri, clad in a pure white wedding dress. The intricate lace decorations accentuated her purity.
Her expression was hidden by the veil lowered by her mother, Elena. Through it, Riri, her cheeks faintly flushed, smiled at her father. Then, taking her father’s arm, they began to walk slowly down the aisle together.
Hayato stared intently at her figure. Riri had matured even more than when they reunited in the modern world, becoming a splendid adult woman. She had graduated university, and now she was his partner, with whom he would walk a new life.
When Riri arrived before the altar, her father entrusted her hand to Hayato.
“Take good care of her,” her father said in a quiet voice, his eyes reflecting a mixture of loneliness at sending off his daughter and anticipation.
“Yes, I definitely will,” Hayato answered sincerely, gently clasping Riri’s hand. The warmth of her hand eased his tension. Hand in hand, they stepped forward together before the pastor.
The clear voice of a gospel singer resonated throughout the sanctuary. The beautiful melody of the hymn heightened the sacredness of the place. The crystal-clear tone spread through the church like an angel’s song. Then, the pastor’s solemn voice rang out.
“Do you, Hayato Sato, take Riri Takahashi to be your wife? Do you vow, in the presence of God and this holy covenant of marriage, to love her, cherish her, honor her, and keep her, in sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity, forsaking all others, to be faithful unto her alone, so long as you both shall live?”
Hayato looked steadily into Riri’s eyes and answered firmly.
“Yes, I do.”
The pastor then turned to Riri.
“Do you, Riri Takahashi, take Hayato Sato to be your husband? Do you vow, in the presence of God and this holy covenant of marriage, to love him, cherish him, honor him, and keep him, in sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity, forsaking all others, to be faithful unto him alone, so long as you both shall live?”
Riri’s voice was equally sure.
“Yes, I do.”
Hayato and Riri savored the meaning of the pastor’s words, replying with serious expressions. A warm sigh drifted through the church at their words. Josuke and Seika exchanged smiles. Go nodded quietly. For them too, this moment held special meaning – the departure of their precious comrades.
“Now for the exchange of rings.”
A small bridesmaid offered two rings resting on a cushion. Hayato carefully took one and held Riri’s left hand.
He quietly, yet surely, slipped the gold ring onto Riri’s ring finger. Next, Riri took Hayato’s ring and gently clasped his hand.
“Now, groom Hayato Sato, please lift the bride Riri Takahashi’s veil.”
Hayato reached for Riri’s veil and slowly raised it. There was Riri’s beautiful face, tears glistening in her eyes. Her gaze held infinite love and trust.
“The two of you have pledged your love before God and these witnesses, and exchanged rings. From this moment, you are united as husband and wife. You may now kiss.”
Following the pastor’s declaration, Hayato and Riri looked at each other and softly drew their faces closer. Their lips met in a tender kiss.
Applause erupted within the church. Amidst the unceasing applause of blessing, the two signed the marriage certificate, becoming officially husband and wife.
In the group photo taken in front of the church, centered around Hayato and Riri, were the families of both sides and the figures of their comrades from the other world. The smiling faces of Josuke, Seika, and Go. Without them, this day would not have come.
Then, several years passed.
Hayato and Riri’s life continued peacefully, largely unchanged. After graduating university, Riri joined the Tetsumura Group and was making remarkable achievements in the technical division. The systems she developed were becoming the company’s flagship products. Her innovative approach was drawing attention from many experts.
Hayato continued his security work while also focusing on training employees. His practical and precise instruction earned him deep trust from President Yasumoto. Security personnel trained under him had become highly regarded within the industry.
And the two continued their streaming activities. By now, their names were widely known, with a stable following supporting them. They had become more than mere entertainers; they were figures offering courage and hope to many people.
Josuke had ventured into new business expansions, establishing himself as an international investor. His sharp insight and foresight were the blossoming of the talent he’d honed as an information broker in the other world.
Seika continued her groundbreaking research in the medical field, her achievements gaining recognition. Her spirit as a Healer lived on within modern medicine.
Go, working with his brothers, had grown the Tetsumura Group into an even larger enterprise. His children had also grown splendidly. Riku was studying management to contribute to the Tetsumura Group like his father, while Aoi had pursued a path in the arts.
During their streams, they still showed their comradeship as “Hayato,” “Lilia,” “John,” “Celestia,” and “Garet.”
Their fans still didn’t know their true purpose, but for them, it wasn’t just a role; it was the memory of another life. A life that hadn’t ended and was set to continue long into the future.
One night, after returning home from a stream, Hayato and Riri stood together on their apartment balcony, gazing at the starry sky. The night breeze gently caressed their hair, and the lights of the distant city twinkled like stars.
Hayato took his wife’s hand and said quietly, “Thank you, Riria. For choosing to walk this life with me… again.”
Riria smiled and replied, “In any world… being with you was my happiness, Hayato.”
Countless stars shone in the sky. Like lights connecting the other world and the present. And so, the adventures and bonds of the Hero and his companions would continue forevermore—.
