The Cannon Fodder NPC Went Too Far [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
A loose black printed T-shirt, adorned with exaggerated abstract graffiti, was casually tucked into low-rise jeans, exposing a section of a black leather belt with silver studs.
Gu Aoyu swaggered to the bar entrance, smoking a cigarette, hands in her pockets. Her silver lip piercing glittered under the harsh lights.
“Host, why don’t we discuss this with the Great Villain before acting? It sounds like she’s not completely unaware. If the Great Villain finds out about your reckless action, she will be angry,” the Little Blue Orb advised in a low voice, uneasily watching the extremely rowdy bar.
“This is my grievance with him; it has nothing to do with Xiaoxi. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. She has heavy coursework, so there’s no need to bother her with this kind of thing,” Gu Aoyu gently pushed open the bar door.
The lights flickered. Colorful laser beams frantically swept the stage, illuminating the sparsely-dressed men and women dancing wildly. Deafening electronic music drilled into Gu Aoyu’s ears. Accompanied by a buzzing sound, she experienced a moment of tinnitus.
The two brawny men guarding the door, seeing Gu Aoyu was unfamiliar, quietly blocked her at the entrance.
With a frivolous whistle, Gu Aoyu swayed the black card clipped between her fingers and said arrogantly, “I heard your bar’s custom-mixed drinks are good. Serve me all of them. I have plenty of money. What, am I not welcome?”
The cold, displeased expression met the emotionless scrutiny of the brawny men. After a moment of stalemate, they slowly displayed a fawning smile, bowed to Gu Aoyu, and made way for her.
Gu Aoyu scoffed, slammed the card on the bar, repeated her request, and then glanced around, taking in the terrain. She chose a seat facing the second floor.
“How do you know the Male Lead will keep his promise and stop making trouble for the Great Villain? Maybe he’s intentionally setting a trap for you,” the Little Blue Orb desperately shook Gu Aoyu’s sleeve, trying to shake the foolishness out of her head.
“I know. I never expected him to keep his promise anyway.” Under the Little Blue Orb’s shocked gaze, Gu Aoyu lowered her head, smelled the brightly colored drink that had just been served, and downed it in one go.
“I’m just here to collect evidence. With the recording of my call with the Male Lead, plus the video of me clashing with the drug dealers, I will have leverage over him. I remember the Male Lead’s mother works in the government, right? He wouldn’t want the suspicion of him trying to kill someone by proxy to be exposed, would he? With this in hand, I won’t worry about him daring to touch Xiaoxi again.”
“Host, after all that, what about you? This is a drug den, not the petty thugs you used to fight. One careless mistake and you could really die here.”
Gu Aoyu paused, then ruffled the Little Blue Orb’s bristling hair. “I’ll be fine. Don’t I have you, my cheat system? As soon as I get into a conflict with them, you call the police immediately. If they respond quickly, maybe they can catch this whole drug gang.”
After all her pleading, seeing that Gu Aoyu was determined to walk into trouble, the Little Blue Orb angrily slapped her hand away and shouted furiously:
“Gu Aoyu, why are you so stubborn? This isn’t the past. You’re a police cadet. You’ve studied for so long at school. You know better than I do what you should and shouldn’t do. This kind of behavior is a serious violation for a police officer!”
Gu Aoyu pursed her lips and drank all the remaining alcohol on the table in one go. She drunkenly smashed a glass. A flush silently crept up her cheeks. The intoxicating fumes reddened her eyes.
“Just pretend Xu Luxi has muddled my mind.”
The young girl in front of her was only in her early 20s, the same age she died in her previous life. Boys and girls this age are naturally impulsive. When they get worked up, they can do anything. Especially Gu Aoyu, who valued loyalty and friendship. She would step in if something happened to her subordinates, so how could she tolerate the person she cared about being trampled to such an extent?
In this life, she was admitted to the police academy and clearly knew all the procedures and the best way to handle things, yet she still couldn’t tolerate it.
Crash, bang! The sounds came one after another. She started acting out her drunken rage, smashing all the empty glasses on the table onto the floor. The commotion immediately caught the attention of the bar staff. They exchanged glances and surrounded her.
The drunken girl pointed at their noses and cursed loudly: “Boring! Didn’t you say this bar had better things? Is this all? I have money. Why won’t you let me play? Are you looking down on me? I know you have…”
Before she could finish, the manager, who rushed over, interrupted her. His sinister eyes scanned her up and down. At Gu Aoyu’s deeply dissatisfied expression, he suddenly smiled, gestured with a hand, and respectfully led her up to the second floor.
The lighting gradually dimmed, as if entering another world. The hallway was filled with the pungent smell of smoke and a nauseating, strange odor. She stumbled after the manager. In a corner, a few listless people slumped on a sofa. Their hands fiddled furtively in the darkness. They moaned contentedly. The white powder in transparent plastic bags flickered with an eerie light in the gloom.
After walking down the dark corridor for an unknown duration, she followed the manager to a dark private room. Muffled screams and pleas for mercy faintly reached Gu Aoyu’s ears from the room next door.
Gu Aoyu silently swallowed, cold sweat beading on her forehead. She pretended to be drunk, swaying and falling onto the sofa. Her eyes were half-closed, appearing to be on the verge of sleep.
Several scrutinizing gazes assessed her for a long time. Gu Aoyu only felt a few dark figures moving back and forth in front of her, busy with something.
After a long wait, the manager slowly sat beside her, holding a syringe. He smiled wickedly, and the sharp needle glinted coldly in the darkness.
“We have prepared the good stuff you requested. Since this is your first time, allow me to assist you,” he said respectfully. As soon as the words left his mouth, he swung the syringe and viciously plunged it toward Gu Aoyu’s arm.
With a roll and a leap, she successfully dodged his vicious attack. She kicked out, striking the syringe in his hand. The disgusting thing instantly flew several meters away.
She finally regained the right to breathe, gulping down air. Her hands didn’t stop for a second. She pulled out the knife hidden in her sleeve and swung it toward the manager’s throat.
Catch the leader first to catch the thugs. His status here was high; she would take him hostage first.
The manager seemed to have anticipated Gu Aoyu’s move. He sidestepped, simultaneously pulling out his own knife and stabbing back.
“Customer, what is the meaning of this? Didn’t you order this?”
Gu Aoyu remained silent, only attacking him fiercely. The manager sneered, striking back ruthlessly with his knife. His movements were even a little faster than hers.
Several hideous wounds gaped open. Bl00d continuously poured from the cuts, dripping down her wrist onto the floor. The pungent metallic smell of bl00d entered Gu Aoyu’s nose. Seemingly fueled by anger, her expression became increasingly ruthless. She ignored her injuries.
The moment his knife was thrust toward her abdomen, she viciously plunged her knife through his shoulder and simultaneously grabbed for his neck.
“Host, watch out!” Behind her, brawny men smashed through the door, swinging knives and charging at Gu Aoyu. In her mind, the ultimate cheat system, the Little Blue Orb, live-streamed her 360-degree surroundings.
With the sound of rushing wind, the men behind her were baring their teeth, their arms muscles tense, rapidly closing in. If she took a blow from them, she would likely be bedridden for a month.
Gu Aoyu gritted her teeth, as more armed thugs poured through the open door, not to mention the crowd waiting outside.
Ignoring the attacks from behind, she lunged for the manager’s neck. The manager, who had been in the business for years, immediately recognized her intention. He was no pushover, rolling aside to dodge Gu Aoyu’s most desperate attack.
Thud. Two sharp blades simultaneously pierced Gu Aoyu’s abdomen from behind, then were instantly pulled out. Her face was deathly pale. She clutched her bleeding abdomen, staggering as she tried to defend against their onslaught.
Damn it! Just a little bit more! If I had taken him hostage, I could have walked out.
The manager, having narrowly avoided the attack, was immediately fiercely guarded by the swarm of thugs. He looked maliciously at the bloodied Gu Aoyu.
“Something is definitely wrong. She’s a cop, isn’t she? No need to test her. Chop her up and drag her away to feed the dogs!”
Countless blades mixed with fists struck her. Gu Aoyu blocked one side, but couldn’t cover the other directions. Her already battered body sustained more injuries. Bl00d ran down her forehead into her eyes, blurring her vision. She raised a hand to wildly wipe it away and took another punch.
“Little Blue Orb, what is the fastest they can get here?”
“The fastest police response will still take over ten minutes. Host, there are too many people. You can’t fight or run your way out. I don’t want you to die! Wuwuwu.”
“Who said I can’t run out? Isn’t there another exit? Help me calculate the landing spot.”
The fierce onslaught gradually forced her against the wall. Another knife plunged directly into her abdomen. She stumbled and fell toward the window.
The manager’s furious voice drilled into her ears. “Stop her! She’s jumping out the window! Tell the people downstairs to wait outside!”
But it was too late. Crash! The window opened. She clung to the window frame and darted out like a leopard. The cool wind blew her bl00d-matted hair. She glanced down. The street below was deserted at night. The height of several meters looked terrifying from up there. She subconsciously shivered.
Then, she jumped without hesitation, landing on the awning of the first floor, rolling a few times, and finally crashing heavily onto the ground.
“Classmate, I’ve thought it through. We will expose him.” Seeing this message, a flicker of a smile crossed Xu Luxi’s eyes.
Then, she looked at the screen, which showed several consecutive missed calls. She was somewhat troubled.
“Why isn’t Aoyu answering? Is she really angry?”
A strange message suddenly popped up.
“Outer ring of the capital… Gu Aoyu is there. If you don’t get there, be prepared to collect her body.”
“Aoyu! Gu Aoyu!” Xu Luxi rushed there. She collided with this scene head-on.
The young girl lying in a pool of bl00d struggled to lift her head. Bl00d matted her face. The first thing she said was:
“Go! Hurry up! Xu Luxi!” Under the desperate cry, Xu Luxi shook her head. She ran to her, her hands trembling as she covered the endlessly bleeding wound.
But with so many wounds, how could she cover them all?
Even as the crimson bl00d stained Xu Luxi’s white lab coat, she couldn’t stop it.
“Aoyu, why? Why is there so much bl00d? Why can’t I stop it?” A trembling cry escaped Xu Luxi’s throat.
The thugs, realizing what was happening, rushed toward them. Gu Aoyu pushed Xu Luxi with force. Xu Luxi stumbled, kneeling on the ground, tears streaming down. Gu Aoyu roared:
“I told you to go!”
Just as they were about to get closer, a piercing police siren suddenly wailed. Patrol cars sealed off the area. Police officers, guns drawn, poured out of the cars, shielding them.
Only then did Gu Aoyu relax. She smiled at Xu Luxi, closed her eyes, and passed out.
In the pitch-black night, the girl lay in a pool of bl00d, her face pale. The pool of bl00d grew larger, a shocking contrast to the dim surroundings, making it horrifying to see.
Xu Luxi knelt on the ground, her lips pale. A deep sense of death surrounded her brows. Her amber eyes were completely lifeless. She tightly gripped the sleeve of a paramedic, pleading hoarsely:
“Save her! Please, save her!”
