The Cold Goddess Always Wants to Turn Me Gay (GL) - Chapter 15
As Wei Zhi and Yu Xinxin got closer, they could hear people whispering in the crowd.
“Who is that? Why such a big scene?”
“That’s the peacock from the computer science department. Thinks he’s handsome and flirts with every girl.”
“It’s him? I wonder who he’s chasing this time?”
“Seems like it’s a freshman.”
“Just because he’s good-looking doesn’t mean he can mess around with girls.”
“Alright, stop gossiping. Maybe he just genuinely wants to confess.”
“If someone confessed to me like that, I’d definitely say yes.”
“Exactly! Sour grapes, much?”
“…”
Just then, a boy standing nearby looked around, noticed something, and squeezed into the crowd. He whispered to another boy—this one was the ‘peacock’ everyone had been talking about. His name was Yue Pan. He was handsome, tall, with long legs, and his hair was perfectly styled. It was clear he had dressed up for this. He looked confident and calm, but after hearing the message, he got excited and quickly told people to clear a path.
Onlookers saw Yue Pan’s reaction and realized the main character of this confession was about to appear. They stepped back, some boys rolling their eyes, while a few girls had starry expressions.
The crowd parted, and Yu Xinxin could finally see what was going on. Red flower petals were arranged into a heart on the ground, surrounded by colorful heart-shaped balloons. A well-dressed boy stood in the middle holding a bouquet of red roses. The bright red flowers matched the petals and balloons, creating a romantic vibe. Xinxin immediately understood—it was a confession.
“I wonder who he’s confessing to?” she said with envy. When Qin Rui had confessed to her, he only gave her a handful of roadside flowers. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t disappointed. What girl doesn’t want a romantic, ceremonial confession?
Wei Zhi heard her and glanced sideways, a hint of curiosity in her eyes.
“You like this?”
“I like roses,” Xinxin blurted out, then felt she’d said too much. Maybe Wei Zhi didn’t like them at all.
“But confessing like this in public isn’t very appropriate,” Xinxin added. After all, public confessions could pressure the girl into agreeing just because of the crowd cheering and shouting “Say yes! Say yes!” A girl might end up saying yes even if she didn’t truly want to.
Yue Pan looked toward the person walking his way, visibly excited. She looked amazing every time he saw her. He put on what he thought was a charming smile and walked over like a gentleman. When he reached the girl, he knelt down on one knee, held out the roses, and said deeply:
“From the moment I first saw you, I’ve been captivated. Your every smile and glance tugs at my heart. You’re the one I’ve been searching for. My name is Yue Pan, and I’m completely drawn to you. Will you be my girlfriend? No matter what happens, I’ll always treat you well.”
Someone in the crowd shouted, “Say yes!” Then a few more followed, and soon the shouting was deafening. If you looked closely, the first person who shouted was the same guy who had whispered to Yue Pan earlier.
“Say yes!”
“Say yes!”
…
Yu Xinxin froze. This was the first time she had seen a confession so close up. Although she didn’t agree with how the guy was doing it, she still peeked at the girl being confessed to—Wei Zhi. But Wei Zhi’s face remained cold, brows furrowed like she was deep in thought. Xinxin suddenly felt like an outsider. Just then, she noticed Zhou Tong in the crowd waving at her. She started to slowly inch away. It felt rude to walk away now, but the situation was just too awkward.
Wei Zhi snapped out of her thoughts and suddenly grabbed Xinxin’s arm. Xinxin looked at her, confused and panicked inside: Hey! Why are you pulling me in? You’re the one being confessed to. I don’t want all these people staring at me!
Of course, Yue Pan also noticed Wei Zhi’s movement. He looked puzzled, then his expression turned unfriendly when he saw Xinxin standing motionless. Wei Zhi’s face turned sharper. She took the bouquet of roses, and Yue Pan looked thrilled—he thought she had accepted! All that effort had worked!
Just as he was about to speak, Wei Zhi stunned him.
She took the bouquet of vivid red roses—beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl—and suddenly stuffed them into Xinxin’s arms. With a soft smile in her eyes, she gently said, “For you.”
Xinxin was stunned. What just happened?
“M-me?” she stammered.
“You said you liked roses, didn’t you?” Wei Zhi answered matter-of-factly.
Xinxin blinked. Wait, you can do that? She glanced at Yue Pan, who was still kneeling. His face looked even darker now.
Wei Zhi saw Xinxin’s confused expression and smiled with satisfaction. She reached out, held Xinxin’s hand, and walked straight toward the dorm gate, never sparing Yue Pan a glance.
Yue Pan was still kneeling in place, completely frozen, unable to react.
The crowd started buzzing again.
“Whoa, did you see that? Who is that girl? So cool and elegant, but her smile was so gentle!”
“Didn’t expect the peacock to get rejected like that. Hahahahaha!”
“Wait, those two girls actually look great together. What’s their relationship?”
“That poor guy must be heartbroken now.”
…
The boy on the ground finally snapped out of it. Hearing the crowd’s comments, he struggled to keep a straight face. Swallowing his anger, he tried to remain polite and said, “I know this was sudden, and you weren’t prepared. It’s okay—I’ll keep trying.”
Hearing this, the two girls in front of him paused. Yue Pan saw hope and put on his charming smile again, gazing longingly at Wei Zhi.
Wei Zhi turned around, her eyes cold and sharp. She stared straight at him. Yue Pan’s heart skipped—he actually felt the urge to step back. But he steadied himself and spoke again, “I mean it. I’ll wait for you.”
Some in the crowd were moved by the drama. Then someone shouted again:
“Say yes! Say yes!”
This time, though, the cheers were few and far less enthusiastic.
Wei Zhi looked over at the people trying to stir things up. Once her sharp eyes met theirs, they all shut up immediately.
“Let’s go,” Wei Zhi said softly, her tone completely different from before. Xinxin hadn’t expected such a smooth switch. Wow, she thought, girls really can flip moods like flipping a page.
The two of them walked out of the crowd, hand in hand. From start to finish, Wei Zhi never said a single word to Yue Pan—aside from that icy glare.
Zhou Tong, still in the crowd, watched their backs as they walked away, eyes sparkling like she’d discovered a new world. They’re such a good ship, she thought. No, wait—Xinxin has a boyfriend! Don’t get carried away! Her heart waged an inner battle.
When the girls returned to the dorm, Zhou Tong came running in behind them. Han Yin was also back. Zhou Tong excitedly exaggerated the whole story.
“You should’ve seen how cool little Zhi Zhi was! She didn’t say a word to that peacock guy the entire time…”
“And then she reached out like this, and did that, and then—”
By the time she finished retelling everything, Han Yin sat there, stunned. She glanced at the ever-cold Wei Zhi and the still-confused Xinxin holding the roses, and suddenly burst out laughing. She never expected that underneath Wei Zhi’s icy surface, her actions could be this wild and unpredictable.
That same afternoon, the school forum exploded. An anonymous student posted a thread titled:
“Peacock Boy Gets Publicly Rejected—Turns Into a Flower Delivery Tool”
It quickly shot to the top. The post detailed the entire event, complete with a video. The girls’ faces were thoughtfully blurred out, but that didn’t stop the comments from flooding in:
“Hahaha! So the peacock finally got a taste of rejection? Didn’t he always say no girl could resist him?”
“Serves him right. He hits on girls non-stop. Probably thought he could trick a freshman.”
“Everyone knows his reputation sucks. Only new students don’t know yet.”
“Yeah, a few girls had to transfer after being dumped by him.”
“For real? I was there, and he looked pretty hot though.”
“You must be new. Guys like that should be expelled. No idea why the school keeps him.”
“Really? So looks can be deceiving…”
…
“But that girl who got confessed to? So cool. Anyone know who she is? Can we get an unblurred version?”
“No one else thinks those two girls look great together?”
“What a goddess-level combo.”
“Totally agree!”
…
Zhou Tong scrolled through the forum, laughing so hard she nearly choked. She turned to look at the two main characters—one was cold as ice, the other still stunned with a bouquet in her arms.
“Have you two seen the post on the school forum yet? Little Zhi Zhi, you and Xinxin are famous now!”
