The Cold Goddess Always Wants to Turn Me Gay (GL) - Chapter 22
Yu Xinxin rolled her eyes in annoyance. The Wei Zhi from before must’ve been fake—how had she ever thought Wei Zhi was cold and elegant? She must’ve been blind.
“You don’t think your personality changed a little too fast?” Yu Xinxin said with a pout.
Wei Zhi smiled gently. “I’ve always been like this. I just didn’t bother with people who didn’t matter.”
Yu Xinxin huffed. “What exactly do you like about me? I can change if that’s what you want.”
By now, she had figured it out. Last night, she had clearly fallen for this woman’s trap. She had even been thinking about breaking up and moving on, but with how things were going, unless Wei Zhi suddenly changed her mind, there was no way out anytime soon.
Wei Zhi narrowed her eyes. What did she like about Yu Xinxin? Honestly, she wasn’t sure.
She had always been alone. After that incident, she pushed everyone out of her life. It was her way of punishing both the person who hurt her—and herself. She drowned herself in darkness to silence the guilt that never stopped growing inside her. Then one day, in that endless night, a dazzling galaxy appeared. No one could know what that light meant to her. Even if it hung far away in the sky, completely out of reach, it still meant everything.
All it took was one smile, and she fell for someone.
She thought that feeling would fade on its own, just like all the others had. She only needed to wait. Eventually, the darkness would return.
Then, she ended up in the hospital again. Pain cut through the dark like ice. It felt like she was reliving that awful day all over again. But this time, she heard soft crying in her ears—confused, fragile. When she opened her eyes, those sparkling ones were full of tears. Her heart ached, and for the first time, the pain in her chest was stronger than the pain in her body. She kept whispering for her not to cry, but the tears didn’t stop.
She was helpless. She cries so easily… Will someone bully her someday?
Later, when she heard about the breakup, she rushed over, completely panicked. Seeing her so lost and alone, she felt something she never had before—a need to make her hers. It was overwhelming, like a drowning person grabbing the last straw. She just couldn’t let go.
She pushed a plate of snacks toward Yu Xinxin, picked up a cup of warm milk, and handed it to her. Looking into those bright eyes, she said softly, “I like everything about you. Even down to the tips of your hair.”
Yu Xinxin almost spat out the milk. She coughed a few times, took the napkin Wei Zhi handed over, and wiped her mouth.
After a pause, she asked, “When did you start feeling this way about me?”
Wei Zhi looked at her seriously, dropping the teasing tone. Her eyes were deep, and her lips barely moved as she said, “What if I told you… it was love at first sight? Would you believe me?”
Yu Xinxin stared in disbelief. But Wei Zhi didn’t seem to be lying—her dark eyes were filled with something Yu Xinxin couldn’t understand. They were just two ordinary people. What made Wei Zhi fall for her?
Sunlight poured in through the window, wrapping her in a warm glow. Her jet-black hair shimmered under the light, just like when they first met, giving off a surreal feeling.
“You really like me that much?” Yu Xinxin asked.
Wei Zhi nodded seriously. “Yes.”
“…Then according to what you said last night, even if we don’t fall in love, you still won’t break up with me?”
Wei Zhi’s expression brightened into a dazzling smile, her eyes full of determination. “Don’t worry. We will fall in love. I’ll make sure of it.”
She had finally caught the girl of her dreams. There was no way she was letting her go now.
Yu Xinxin was on the verge of tears. She could only eat her emotions away, stuffing her mouth with soup dumplings.
I’m doomed… there’s no escaping. This woman is a sly, cunning wolf in sheep’s clothing.
“Have you thought about where you want to go?” Wei Zhi asked gently, her voice soft but firm.
Yu Xinxin winced at the sound. She didn’t want to go anywhere—especially not with Wei Zhi.
“Can we not go?” she said, putting down her chopsticks. Her tone was a little sulky. Wei Zhi’s expression visibly dimmed at her words.
The air seemed to still, even though the surroundings were still noisy. Wei Zhi lowered her eyes, her gaze unfocused.
“…I just want to go out for a bit. Can you come with me? Just to keep me company?”
She looked lonely. Yu Xinxin hesitated. She wasn’t against same-s3x relationships, but now that it involved her, she didn’t know how to deal with it. Her instincts told her to keep a safe distance. But from what she’d seen, Wei Zhi probably lived alone for a long time… she probably really needed someone by her side.
“Is there anywhere you want to go?” she asked, before she could change her mind. “If it interests me, maybe I’ll tag along.”
“Let’s go to the beach, okay?” Wei Zhi’s eyes lit up, her voice lighter.
“Fine, but… can we get separate rooms?” Yu Xinxin said.
“No way. Two people in two rooms is such a waste.” Wei Zhi looked up, smiling playfully. “Don’t worry. I’m very well-behaved.”
Yu Xinxin remembered that moment from the morning and fell silent, burying her face in her food.
Wei Zhi looked at her with a proud smile that clearly said: My wife is so cute.
After eating, they headed back to pack. Yu Xinxin didn’t need to do much—her suitcase was already prepared. Wei Zhi packed quickly too, and they hit the road.
They were headed to Xinyue Beach, a popular tourist spot about two hours from the city. Normally, hotels were fully booked this time of year, but Wei Zhi made a phone call, and just like that, they had a suite ready.
Yu Xinxin: Weren’t you just saying two rooms were a waste?
On the way out, Wei Zhi stopped by a convenience store. While she was gone, Yu Xinxin scrolled through her dorm group chat.
Han Yin had posted a bunch of concert photos and scenic shots. It looked like she was traveling with someone, but Yu Xinxin didn’t know who. Her mind wandered back to that evening—Han Yin and that person… had they made up?
Zhou Tong was spending her break eating and partying with friends. She said military training had been too exhausting and now it was time to enjoy life.
Zhou Tong: Girls, I finally feel alive again!
She posted a picture: she and a few friends around a table, a bubbling red hotpot in the middle. Hotpot in the morning—typical Zhou Tong.
Yu Xinxin: Is it good?
Zhou Tong: Super yummy.
Zhou Tong: How’s BeiQing? (/ω\)
Yu Xinxin paused, heart tightening.
Yu Xinxin: It’s okay.
Zhou Tong: Bring me back snacks. Love ya~ (づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭~
Yu Xinxin: Sure. (づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭~
Wei Zhi: Mind your own business. @Zhou Tong
Zhou Tong: ??? (confused)
…
The car door opened. Wei Zhi got in and dropped a big bag on Yu Xinxin’s lap. She looked down and opened it—snacks, water, even motion sickness patches.
“You get carsick?” Yu Xinxin looked up at her.
Wei Zhi’s brows twitched slightly. She put her sunglasses back on and subtly glanced at Yu Xinxin’s phone.
“Don’t know if you do, but I saw them and grabbed them just in case.”
“Oh.” Yu Xinxin rubbed her arm. She suddenly felt chilly, though she was fine before. “I don’t usually get carsick, unless it’s a mountain road.”
“You cold?” Wei Zhi raised the temperature a bit.
“No,” Yu Xinxin replied quickly, then glanced at Wei Zhi nervously. “Are you… upset?”
“No.” Wei Zhi’s reply was crisp. After a pause, she added, “Zhou Tong’s too noisy. Stay away from her.”
“…Okay…”
Yu Xinxin was speechless. She had no idea what had just happened. As they say, a woman’s heart is like a deep ocean.
The rest of the trip, Wei Zhi stayed silent. Cool and distant again, like the cold goddess she used to be. Yu Xinxin glanced at her several times, but she didn’t respond. The car felt like it had lost its air.
Yu Xinxin couldn’t stand it anymore. She opened a snack and started eating. After half a bag, she got thirsty, found a bottle of sour plum juice, and took a sip. She didn’t like sweet drinks, but in hot weather—or when she was annoyed—sour plum juice helped.
As the sweet-sour flavor slid down her throat, her mood improved. Her mind started working again, and she suddenly realized the problem.
Wait… Wei Zhi is jealous…?
