The Cold Goddess Always Wants to Turn Me Gay (GL) - Chapter 4
Holding the blue EMS envelope in her hands, Yu Xin Xin started to panic. She didn’t even realize when her forehead broke out in sweat. Taking a deep breath, she cleared her throat, turned around stiffly, and went upstairs like a robot.
After entering the house, she changed her shoes, then placed the envelope neatly on the coffee table.
Should she open it?
What if it wasn’t what she thought?
But what if it was?
What if she didn’t pass?
No, no! She must have passed!
But should she open it…???
Yu Xin Xin’s face turned red, blue, green, and purple, changing colors one after another. Her eyebrows twisted into a knot, and her hands reached out but pulled back again, hovering awkwardly in the air. It was obvious how nervous she was. She had never been this flustered before.
Just when her heart was battling with her mind, the sound of the door opening came from the entrance.
Mrs. Yu came back from walking the dog. Yu Xin Xin turned her head sharply as if she had seen a savior, staring nervously at her mother.
Mrs. Yu got startled by her daughter’s strange look. What was this? It was just giving away a few books, why the tears? Should she go for another walk? Thinking so, she turned around to leave again.
Seeing this, Yu Xin Xin widened her eyes and quickly hugged her mom’s arm. Mrs. Yu had never been hugged by her daughter like this before, and her heart skipped a beat. Should she shamelessly ask the neighbor to return the books?
Before she could say anything, Yu Xin Xin dragged her to the sofa and pointed at the envelope on the coffee table. Then, to Mrs. Yu’s surprise, her usually talkative daughter actually started to stutter:
“Quick… quick… the package… just…”
Mrs. Yu looked confused, and before she could react, Yu Xin Xin suddenly ruffled her own hair and then stared at her mom with such an intense look that Mrs. Yu leaned back instinctively.
“Mom, you… OPEN IT!!!” Yu Xin Xin shouted, pointing at the envelope.
Seeing her daughter’s determined face, Mrs. Yu felt uneasy. Was this child trying to get revenge? It was just a few books…
Although suspicious, Mrs. Yu didn’t move. Seeing her mother hesitate, Yu Xin Xin’s courage started to fade again.
Just then, their big golden retriever, Jin Zi, who had been waiting forever for someone to untie his leash, gave two sad little whimpers. No one responded. Feeling completely ignored, Jin Zi suddenly pounced into Mrs. Yu’s arms.
Startled, Mrs. Yu’s hand, which was reaching for the envelope, trembled. The envelope flew up into the air, and Jin Zi, quick as lightning, caught it in his mouth. In the next second, Yu Xin Xin’s eyes went wide — she rushed to pry open the dog’s mouth, but Jin Zi dodged and bolted across the room, tugging and biting at the envelope as he ran.
“Jin Zi! Let go! That’s my admission letter!” Yu Xin Xin screamed in panic.
Mrs. Yu, still a little confused, shouted back:
“What admission letter? It’s just a package—”
But halfway through her words, Mrs. Yu’s expression changed dramatically and she screamed:
“Admission letter???? Jin Zi, stop right there!”
Mother and daughter chased Jin Zi around like madwomen. Feeling scared by all the yelling, Jin Zi ran even faster.
The house was instantly filled with chaos — dogs barking, people yelling, things falling everywhere.
At that moment, the front door opened again. Mr. Yu was back. Poor Jin Zi, desperate for safety, saw hope and ran straight for the door.
Seeing this, the mother and daughter panicked even more. If Jin Zi ran outside, how would they catch him? They screamed:
“Catch him! Don’t let him escape!”
Mr. Yu, who had just opened the door, was scared stiff. Seeing a giant dog rushing at him, he instinctively bent down to grab Jin Zi. But the dog’s momentum was too strong — Mr. Yu lost his balance and fell backward onto the doorstep.
Taking advantage of the moment, the mother and daughter finally managed to grab Jin Zi and pry open his mouth to rescue the poor, beaten-up envelope.
Yu Xin Xin’s heart raced. The envelope was a mess, covered in dog slobber and bite marks. Her hands trembled so much she could barely open it. Not thinking anymore, she tore the seal, pulled out the papers inside, and carefully unfolded them.
Seeing that the contents were mostly intact, just with a few tooth marks, she finally relaxed a little.
But as soon as she relaxed, her heart jumped again. She stared at the text with wide, trembling eyes.
The bright red cover was bold and striking, with a golden emblem of the school at the top, and four shining characters underneath — “Jiang University.”
Below that, in strong calligraphy strokes, were five big characters — “Admission Letter.”
Opening the cover, she saw the entire inside was filled with red anti-counterfeit patterns. At the top was an image of Jiang University’s traditional, grand school gate, matching the color scheme perfectly.
Her eyes moved downward, and there it was — the school emblem again, followed by “Jiang University Admission Letter.”
And then the part that made Yu Xin Xin’s heart tremble:
Dear Yu Xin Xin,
Congratulations! You have been officially accepted as a freshman at Jiang University for the class of XXXX!
Her heart was pounding, her hands shaking. In that moment, Yu Xin Xin couldn’t think of any other words to express her feelings. She was simply too happy.
After spinning in a little circle on the spot from pure excitement, she looked at her parents, who were just as thrilled.
“Dad, Mom! I got in!” Yu Xin Xin screamed.
Mr. Yu, his hands shaking, carefully took the admission letter. He adjusted his glasses and read every single word from beginning to end, his face full of emotion.
Mrs. Yu also took the letter, cherishing it like treasure, and read it thoroughly from top to bottom.
The three of them stood together in a circle, laughing and crying like kids.
Mrs. Yu’s tears flowed freely: her once hopeless daughter had finally gotten into a university!
Mr. Yu was so moved he could hardly speak: his daughter had made it! Their ancestors must be smiling!
Yu Xin Xin felt like she had drunk two full bottles of liquor — dizzy and thrilled.
She finally made it.
She got into Jiang University.
She could go to school together with Qin Rui.
