The Cold Goddess Always Wants to Turn Me Gay (GL) - Chapter 47: Indirect Kiss, Really?
After winding through the mountains, the bus finally arrived at its destination. As the group disembarked, the surrounding area immediately became bustling. They were now at a square at the foot of the mountain. Yu Xin Xin looked around—aside from their group, there were quite a few other tourists.
“Classmates, quiet down for a moment,” the class monitor called out loudly from the front.
The noisy crowd gradually settled down. The monitor continued, “There are two ways to go up the mountain. The first is to take the stone steps over there.” He pointed to the staircase ahead. “The other is the cable car. You can choose whichever you prefer. Those opting for the cable car, please register with the sports committee member. Since we have a large group, everyone, be careful not to get separated.”
Slowly, the crowd split into two groups. Those who didn’t feel like hiking moved to the side. Zhou Tong waved at Yu Xin Xin before quickly slipping over to the sports committee member. In her words, “I’m here to soak in hot springs and enjoy life, not to suffer through mountain climbing.”
Yu Xin Xin watched Zhou Tong’s cheerful figure. The sports committee member was a tall, handsome guy, currently surrounded by a crowd—Zhou Tong among them.
Yu Xin Xin muttered under her breath, “Prioritizing romance over friendship.”
“Do you want to take the stone steps or the cable car?” Yu Xin Xin turned to ask Wei Zhi beside her.
“I’m fine with either. How do you want to go up, Xin Xin?”
Without Zhou Tong as the third wheel, Wei Zhi would love to walk up slowly with Yu Xin Xin. Along the way, if they got thirsty or tired, it’d be a chance to deepen their bond.
Yu Xin Xin looked at the stone path ahead, shaded by trees. Crimson maple leaves piled atop the branches, interspersed with a few evergreens. The yellow-green hues stretched along the winding mountain path as far as the eye could see, creating a uniquely charming scene.
“The scenery is so beautiful! Let’s walk up.”
The corners of Wei Zhi’s eyes curved as she smiled. “Sure.”
Yu Xin Xin ran over to say goodbye to Zhou Tong and informed the class monitor. The monitor repeatedly reminded her, “Be careful. If anything happens, call me immediately or message the class group.”
Yu Xin Xin agreed to everything, reassuring the monitor.
Taking Wei Zhi’s hand, the two set off on the stone path. Yu Xin Xin was visibly excited, even collecting a few beautifully shaped maple leaves along the way, saying she’d press them into bookmarks as souvenirs later.
Wei Zhi watched Yu Xin Xin skip around, her lips curled in a smile that never faded.
The mountain wasn’t particularly high, but for someone who rarely exercised, it wasn’t exactly easy either. Yu Xin Xin’s initial enthusiasm soon wore off, and now her back and legs ached everywhere. She clung to Wei Zhi’s waist, shamelessly leaning on her.
Wei Zhi held her, bearing some of her weight, and pulled out a tissue to wipe the sweat from Yu Xin Xin’s forehead. Looking at her flushed face from exertion, she asked softly, “Do you want to rest for a bit?”
Yu Xin Xin nodded eagerly. The two found a bench and sat down. Yu Xin Xin tugged at her collar, fanning herself with her hand, trying to cool off.
Wei Zhi took out a bottle of water she’d prepared earlier from her bag, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to Yu Xin Xin. “Here, have some water first.”
The late October weather already carried a noticeable chill. Yu Xinxin had worn a sweater in the morning fearing the mountain cold, but now regretted it as she sweated. Just as she felt parched, Wei Zhi thoughtfully handed her a water bottle. She took it and gulped down several mouthfuls before finally feeling better.
“No one’s competing with you. Why drink so fast?”
Yu Xinxin licked the water droplets at the corners of her lips and handed the bottle back to Wei Zhi. “Do you want some too?”
Wei Zhi’s hand paused in her bag. Setting aside the mineral water she’d already grasped, she instead pulled out her phone. Glancing at the other’s rosy lips, she replied casually, “Sure.”
Taking the bottle, Wei Zhi sipped slowly. The water seemed to retain traces of the other girl, carrying a faint sweetness that made her unconsciously drink a few more sips.
Yu Xinxin simply assumed she was very thirsty and didn’t think much of it.
“How much longer to the summit?” Yu Xinxin wailed with a miserable expression.
Wei Zhi set down the bottle and glanced at a nearby sign. “About halfway there,” she said, then licked the water droplets at her lips, still detecting that lingering sweet fragrance.
So… was that an indirect kiss just now?
“Ugh~~ only halfway?” Yu Xinxin groaned dramatically, her beautiful eyes brimming with tears as if she’d suffered some great injustice. “I kind of regret this. Can we still take the cable car now?”
Wei Zhi watched her teary-eyed expression and suddenly felt thirsty again. Licking her lips, she said, “Sure, we just need to walk back to the entrance.”
Yu Xinxin felt despair creeping in. Zhou Tong had really been the wise one!
Wei Zhi observed the passing hikers, suppressing her urge to tease, and gently coaxed, “Let’s rest a while. We have plenty of time—no need to rush.”
After some internal debate, Yu Xinxin leaned against Wei Zhi’s shoulder, sprawling across the bench. “Your shoulder’s actually pretty comfortable.”
The sweet fragrance drifted through the air as Wei Zhi wrapped an arm around the other girl’s slender waist. Raising an eyebrow, she teased, “Who was it that said I’m too skinny to lean on comfortably?”
Yu Xinxin choked on her words, remembering her earlier complaint. Embarrassed, she started to sit up straight but was promptly pulled back. Wei Zhi’s amused voice followed: “If it’s comfortable, then lean a while longer.”
Mentally, Yu Xinxin awarded her a gold star for good behavior.
Not bad, not bad at all. Student Wei Zhi is quite considerate!
The two continued their hike with frequent breaks. By the time they reached the summit and found their hotel, they learned from their class monitor that everyone else had already arrived. The monitor visibly relaxed upon seeing them enter, making Yu Xinxin feel slightly guilty—he must have been waiting here worried about them. She remembered he’d also climbed the stone steps.
“I was concerned you might get lost. Everyone else’s rooms are assigned—this is the last one. Is it okay if you two share?” the monitor asked.
“No problem,” Wei Zhi said with a smile. “Thanks for waiting for us, Class Monitor.”
“Don’t mention it, it’s the least I could do,” the Class Monitor replied cheerfully. “By the way, you can head back to your room and rest first. We’ve rented a barbecue grill, so let’s gather in the lobby at noon for a picnic.”
“Got it. Thanks for your hard work.”
After exchanging a few more words, the three entered the elevator. The Class Monitor got off one floor earlier, and once the other two found their room, Yu Xin Xin collapsed onto the bed, too exhausted to move.
Wei Zhi shook her head in amusement at the sight and walked over to help take off Yu Xin Xin’s shoes and coat. “Want to take a nap?” she asked.
Yu Xin Xin, who had woken up early that morning and was thoroughly worn out from the earlier events, was indeed feeling drowsy. She rolled over to the other side of the bed and mumbled, “Do you want to nap too?”
Her voice was lazy and sweet, like a child’s, sending a ticklish warmth through Wei Zhi’s chest. Remembering their indirect kiss earlier, Wei Zhi felt a spark ignite in her eyes. “Sure,” she replied hoarsely.
She set an alarm and lay down on the bed. Watching Yu Xin Xin’s tired expression, she tried to suppress the restless flame inside her. Sighing, she shifted slightly to the side and closed her eyes.
Yu Xin Xin was already half-asleep. She turned over again, wrapping her arms and legs around Wei Zhi, her left hand landing squarely on a soft mound.
Wei Zhi’s eyes flew open. Though this wasn’t the first time they’d shared a bed, they hadn’t had the chance since returning. The sudden closeness made her breath hitch, and the fire she’d tried to smother flared up again.
This was… deadly.
