The Cold Goddess Always Wants to Turn Me Gay (GL) - Chapter 56
An overwhelming joy surged in her chest, spreading through her entire body in an instant.
In the lonely darkness, the distant galaxy hanging in the sky had finally cast its warm, gentle light upon her, tenderly soothing the hardships she had endured along the way. The layers of ice imprisoning her melted under this soft glow, turning into delicate streams that flowed through her. Wherever they passed, the frost thawed, and life reawakened. It was as if she were bathed in the warm spring sun—everything was just right.
Something seemed to spill from her eyes, dripping onto her wrist, warm and searing with an intensity that shook her soul.
Yu Xin Xin was startled, the heat at her wrist was scalding. She raised her hand in a fluster to wipe away the tears on Wei Zhi’s face, but for some reason, the other’s tears kept falling uncontrollably, drop by drop. Her heart ached terribly, thinking she must say something to make Wei Zhi stop crying.
“Don’t cry anymore, okay?” Her voice was soft and choked, almost pleading.
Wei Zhi’s appearance was breathtakingly beautiful. Her usually cool and distant features made it impossible for anyone to dare defile her. Yet only Yu Xin Xin knew that those same features could exude an entirely different kind of allure with just the slightest curve. And against that version of her, Yu Xin Xin was utterly powerless. But now, as she gazed into those misty eyes—still devoid of their usual chill but tinged with rare vulnerability—she was abruptly reminded of that night in the northern city when Wei Zhi had broken down in the same fragile way. Her heart softened with pain, tenderly wiping away the tears. In a daze, she seemed to see those shimmering eyes ripple with a mesmerizing wave, instantly captivating her sight and her heart.
Like the first light of dawn, no beauty in the world could compare.
Wei Zhi cupped Yu Xin Xin’s face, her entire being wrapped in the warmth of the other’s affection. She didn’t need sweet nothings—the word “like” alone was the most beautiful confession in the world to her. Now, those radiant eyes were fixed on her, and nothing else could enter her sight or her heart. A ripple of contentment stirred within Wei Zhi as she curved her lips into a smile, pressing a reverent kiss to Yu Xin Xin’s forehead.
“You said it yourself—you’re never allowed to leave me in this lifetime.”
“Okay, we’ll always be together.”
Even if abandoned by everyone, even through loneliness and pain, she had finally embraced the starlight that belonged solely to her, waited for the one whose eyes and heart held only her.
From then on, the cold would fade, replaced by endless warmth.
When Yu Xin Xin woke the next morning, her entire body felt like it was falling apart. Her eyelids were heavy, but sensing the warmth pressed against her cheek, she nuzzled closer, finding a comfortable position to drift back to sleep.
Wei Zhi gazed at the person in her arms, tenderness pooling in her eyes. After a moment’s hesitation, she couldn’t bring herself to wake her, instead brushing a hand through the other’s dark hair before giving in and pressing a featherlight kiss to the corner of her lips.
Yu Xin Xin’s lashes fluttered slightly at the touch, her lips soft and sweet like cotton candy. She murmured and licked them lightly.
Wei Zhi’s gaze deepened with affection, and then she watched as the woman in her arms slowly blinked her eyes open, still hazy with lingering sleep. Remembering how they had exhausted themselves late into the night under the influence of the medicine, she whispered softly, “Did I wake you?”
Yu Xin Xin rubbed her sore eyes. “No, I was already awake.” She blinked, then grinned at Wei Zhi. “I’m hungry.”
Wei Zhi pinched her nose playfully, her gaze accidentally catching the faint red marks on Yu Xin Xin’s neck—now faded after a night. “Go wash up, and we’ll go eat.”
Yu Xin Xin looked into Wei Zhi’s dark, somber eyes and instinctively felt that the other person seemed unhappy. Just a moment ago, everything had been fine. She froze for a second, racking her brains but still couldn’t figure it out. Finally, under Wei Zhi’s urging, she had no choice but to go freshen up first.
After quickly changing her clothes, brushing her teeth, and washing her face, she finally felt more awake. Staring at her bright, sunny reflection in the mirror, she paused—she thought she knew why Wei Zhi was upset.
Returning to the bedroom, she saw Wei Zhi had already changed and was packing. Originally, they were supposed to leave today. Hesitating for a moment, she spoke up, “Wei Zhi…”
Clicking the suitcase latch shut, Wei Zhi responded softly, “All done?”
“Um… about yesterday… Gu Mingxi…” She wasn’t sure how to explain, especially since it wasn’t exactly a flattering situation.
Wei Zhi’s smile faded slightly as she reassured, “It’s my fault. I should’ve stayed with you the whole time. I’m sorry you had such a bad experience.” After a pause, she added firmly, “Don’t worry, I won’t let Gu Mingxi off lightly.”
“No, you’ve misunderstood!” Yu Xin Xin said urgently. Though she didn’t know Gu Mingxi’s intentions, the other person hadn’t actually done anything. In her state last night, even if Gu Mingxi had wanted to, she wouldn’t have been able to resist. Worse, she had mistaken Gu Mingxi for Wei Zhi and had even tried to cling to her. If Gu Mingxi hadn’t stopped her, she might have kissed her. Thinking back, aside from the red marks on her neck from being rubbed, Gu Mingxi had mostly just taken care of her. If it had been someone else… she didn’t dare imagine the outcome.
“She only used her hands to rub these marks. She didn’t touch me. It was me… I almost kissed her.” Realizing her mistake immediately, she winced—confessing to her girlfriend that she’d tried to kiss someone else? That was practically asking for trouble.
“I mean, I mistook her for you! That’s why I wanted to kiss her. Don’t worry, I didn’t actually kiss her. Gu Mingxi stopped me,” Yu Xin Xin explained.
“You’re saying you tried to kiss Gu Mingxi, and she stopped you?” Wei Zhi murmured, her expression puzzled.
“Yes, but I didn’t touch her.”
“And the marks on your neck—she did that with her hands?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Why would she do that?”
“I have no idea.”
Wei Zhi fell silent for a long moment but couldn’t make sense of it. Could it be that Gu Mingxi had nothing to do with Yu Xin Xin being drugged and had just coincidentally ended up with her in the room? But how could such a coincidence exist? The moment she left, Yu Xin Xin had gotten into trouble. And she hadn’t forgotten Gu Mingxi’s warning.
Seeing that Wei Zhi wasn’t focusing on the fact that she’d tried to kiss someone else, Yu Xin Xin secretly sighed in relief. Past experience had taught her that Wei Zhi could be quite the jealous type.
Hesitantly, she suggested, “Let’s go eat.”
“Alright.”
Feeling reassured, Yu Xin Xin took her hand and headed for the door—only to be abruptly yanked back, stumbling into a cool embrace. A faint sense of foreboding crept up her spine. Trembling, she looked up and saw the dangerous glint in Wei Zhi’s icy eyes.
“Wh-what’s wrong?” Her teeth chattered.
“You just said… you were the one who tried to kiss Gu Mingxi?”
“I thought it was you! My mind wasn’t clear at the time!” Yu Xin Xin wanted to cry—this was so unfair.
“That doesn’t matter. You still need to be punished.”
“How do you want to…” Before she could finish her sentence, she saw the other’s darkening eyes drawing closer. Then her lips were sealed, as if in retaliation, leaving her no chance to catch her breath until her entire body went limp in the other’s embrace.
Wei Zhi licked her lips with satisfaction, looking at the thoroughly bullied person in her arms, and said, “Let’s go eat.”
Yu Xin Xin panted for a while, rubbing her burning cheeks before shooting her a displeased glare.
Wei Zhi remained unfazed, wrapping an arm around her as they left the room and headed to the restaurant on the second floor.
Exiting the elevator and turning into the dining area, they arrived quite late, so the restaurant was nearly empty. Yu Xin Xin’s gaze swept over the two people seated by the window on the right, and she froze for a moment.
Why were they sitting together?
