The Cold Goddess Always Wants to Turn Me Gay (GL) - Chapter 58: So Soon? Not Ready Yet
“Alright, I won’t interrupt your meal.” Gu Mingxi glanced at Yu Xinxin and Zhou Tong in the distance, pausing briefly on the latter. Remembering how shy Zhou Tong had been around her, her mood lifted slightly.
“Can you tell Xiao Tong I had something urgent come up and had to leave?” Gu Mingxi stood up, grabbing her jacket and bag from the nearby chair, ready to depart.
Wei Zhi frowned. “Since when are you and Zhou Tong so close?”
“Who I’m close to is none of your business,” Gu Mingxi shot back without hesitation, clearly not forgetting how this person had treated her last night.
Gu Mingxi thought to herself: What an ungrateful wretch, after I helped guard her girlfriend for her. How heartbreaking!
Wei Zhi, inexplicably on the receiving end of her sharp tongue, didn’t want to engage but felt compelled to warn her given her track record. “Zhou Tong is very naive. Don’t mess with her.”
Gu Mingxi had been spoiled by her family since childhood, doing things purely for novelty and fun. Back when the two of them were close, Wei Zhi had noticed her tendency to flirt with people—flirt and then vanish. Her entourage of admirers, both male and female, never seemed to dwindle. Once, a woman even came looking for Gu Mingxi at their school, turning to Wei Zhi when she couldn’t find her. That was when Wei Zhi realized Gu Mingxi’s charm knew no bounds—she didn’t discriminate by gender.
“Zhi Zhi, you’re really something. Isn’t little Xin Xin enough for you? Now you want to protect Xiao Tong too? Well, since you told me not to mess with her, I’m definitely going to. That little girl seems quite amusing.” Gu Mingxi’s gaze lingered on Zhou Tong, who was stuffing a steamed dumpling into her mouth, cheeks puffed up like a chipmunk. Her eyes curved into crescents, as if she’d just heard something delightful—adorable, really.
Leaning against the table, Gu Mingxi flashed a bewitching smile. She hadn’t tried this type before.
“You—” Wei Zhi couldn’t be bothered to argue and simply ignored her.
Gu Mingxi shrugged and headed for the exit.
When Zhou Tong and Yu Xin Xin returned and learned Gu Mingxi had left, Zhou Tong let out a dramatic wail, clutching her chest in exaggerated despair, barely touching her breakfast.
Zhou Tong thought: I should’ve looked at her a little longer.
Wei Zhi observed Zhou Tong’s reaction and, after a moment’s hesitation, coldly advised, “Gu Mingxi is a player. I’d advise you not to be fooled by her looks.”
Zhou Tong declared with unwavering resolve, “No matter what kind of person she is, with looks like that, just getting to admire her is a win. No regrets.”
Wei Zhi: “…” She’d overstepped.
Yu Xin Xin, still preoccupied with thoughts of Zhao Manshu, hadn’t noticed their conversation.
Wei Zhi saw the dumpling on Yu Xin Xin’s chopsticks about to fall and swiftly caught it, bringing it to her lips. Softly, she asked, “What’s on your mind? You’re so distracted.”
Snapping out of her thoughts, Yu Xin Xin smiled at Wei Zhi’s gentle expression and took a bite of the dumpling. Chewing and swallowing, she mumbled, mindful of Zhou Tong’s presence, “Nothing. Let’s finish eating.”
“Ugh—could you spare a thought for us single folks? Feeding me dog food first thing in the morning.” Despite her words, Zhou Tong’s eyes sparkled with excitement, showing no awareness of being a third wheel.
Zhou Tong thought: Who knew Zhi Zhi could be so tender in private? No wonder Xin Xin likes her. So envious.
“Remember, you promised to treat me to a meal. No backing out.”
Wei Zhi: “???”
Yu Xin Xin whispered, “She… she knows about us.”
Wei Zhi: “Then you’ll have to wait your turn.”
After breakfast, the three checked the time and, seeing it was still early, decided to return to their rooms to rest. Their class monitor had wisely anticipated that everyone would be too exhausted from yesterday’s activities to wake up early, so the meeting time was set for 10:30 a.m., when the bus would pick them up directly from the hotel.
At the door of their room as they were about to part, Yu Xinxin asked casually, “Which room is Zhao Manshu in? She brought me back to rest last night, and I haven’t thanked her yet.”
Zhou Tong replied, “Oh, her? I asked the class monitor last night. It seems she had some urgent family matter and went straight home.”
“Oh, then I’ll thank her in class tomorrow.”
Zhou Tong yawned. She had gotten up early just to have breakfast with Gu Mingxi and had been waiting by the door, now so tired that tears were welling up in her eyes. “Alright, I’m going to catch up on some sleep,” she said before heading straight back to her room.
Throughout the conversation, Wei Zhi remained silent, her lips pressed tightly together, her expression clearly unwell.
Once the two returned to their room, Wei Zhi was the first to speak. “Was Zhao Manshu the one who drugged you last night?” She didn’t have much of an impression of most classmates and didn’t care to. When checking the surveillance footage the night before, she hadn’t gotten a clear look at the person’s face—her only concern had been finding Yu Xinxin quickly. Though the figure had seemed familiar, she hadn’t paid it much mind.
“Yeah.” Yu Xinxin frowned, thinking back. “She was also the one who gave me the drink last night. Later, she sent Zhou Tong a message telling her I was in room 6012.”
“If she wanted to harm you, why would she tell Zhou Tong where you were?”
“I don’t know.”
Her mind had been hazy last night, and her memories were blurry. If Zhou Tong hadn’t told her, she wouldn’t even have remembered who had brought her back.
Wei Zhi recalled Gu Mingxi’s words earlier. Though the woman had questionable morals, she was usually straightforward in her actions and wouldn’t resort to such underhanded tactics. After a brief consideration, Wei Zhi pieced things together.
“She was probably acting under someone else’s orders but got scared of things going too far, so she sent Zhou Tong that message. Don’t worry, I’ll get to the bottom of this,” Wei Zhi reassured. Since returning to the room, Yu Xinxin had been looking miserable, her expression now practically sour.
Wei Zhi reached out and pinched Yu Xinxin’s cheeks, enjoying the softness.
Yu Xinxin squirmed, tickled by the touch, and swatted away the offending hand, her fair skin tinged with a faint blush.
Remembering the intoxicating moments from the night before, Wei Zhi’s heart stirred. She took two steps forward and pulled Yu Xinxin into her arms. “It’s still early. Why don’t we find something to do?”
“Do wh—mmph…”
A faint, cool fragrance enveloped her as her words were swallowed by the erratic pounding of her heart. After the initial surprise, she quickly adjusted, losing herself in the deep, lingering kiss. As expected, she melted into Wei Zhi’s embrace afterward, breathing heavily.
“Xinxin, do you know you can breathe while kissing?” Wei Zhi murmured by her ear, arms wrapped around her waist.
Yu Xinxin felt her face burning and buried it deeper in Wei Zhi’s chest, too embarrassed to look up. Annoyed, she pinched Wei Zhi’s waist—this woman loved teasing her at every opportunity.
“Ouch~~” Wei Zhi winced in pain, but the arm around her showed no intention of letting go. With a teasing laugh, she said, “If your technique isn’t great, that’s one thing, but why do you keep biting or pinching me?”
Yu Xin Xin: Now it wasn’t just her face that felt like it was on fire—her entire body felt off.
“You just love bullying me,” Yu Xin Xin huffed, poking Wei Zhi’s chest with her finger. The gesture made Wei Zhi’s heart itch, and she bent down to scoop her up in her arms.
Before Yu Xin Xin could react, she was already suspended in the air. As Wei Zhi carried her slowly toward the bed, a sudden realization struck her, making her heart race uncontrollably. Stiffly, she clutched Wei Zhi’s collar.
This… this fast? She wasn’t ready yet.
Wei Zhi took in every shift in Yu Xin Xin’s expression, pressing her lips together to suppress a smile. She gently laid her on the bed, leaning over her, one hand braced beside her ear. Her gaze traced every contour of Yu Xin Xin’s face—the deer-like panic in her eyes, her adorable nose, those soft, rosy lips, paired with flawless, snow-like skin. The more she looked, the more she adored her.
Yu Xin Xin’s mind twisted in turmoil, utterly unsure of what to do.
Accept or reject?
Ah~~ This was so hard!
Finally, Yu Xin Xin gritted her teeth and steeled herself. Since it was bound to happen sooner or later, why not now? She shut her eyes and lay flat, presenting herself like an offering.
The smile on Wei Zhi’s lips faded. Though Yu Xin Xin had regained clarity last night, the lingering effects of the drug hadn’t fully dissipated, leaving her tossing and turning in restless sleep. Wei Zhi had only intended to let her rest a little longer, but Yu Xin Xin had clearly misunderstood. She couldn’t resist teasing her, yet now, with the woman she loved lying so obediently beneath her…
She hesitated. Should she or shouldn’t she?
Yu Xin Xin waited and waited, but nothing happened. She cracked her eyes open to see Wei Zhi frozen above her, breathing slightly ragged, as if holding back something.
Yu Xin Xin: What’s wrong with her? I’m lying right here—what’s she hesitating for?
Deciding to go all in, she looped her arms around Wei Zhi’s neck and pulled her down, pressing her lips to hers in a bold kiss.
Caught off guard, Wei Zhi surrendered instantly, shifting from passive to active, kissing Yu Xin Xin until she melted into a boneless puddle. Except…
Despite her bold thoughts and actions, Yu Xin Xin was all bark and no bite, inwardly panicking. Soon, the kiss left her dizzy and weak. Having never been with a woman before, she had no idea how things were supposed to go between them. The more she thought about it, the more flustered she became, her body tensing until she lay there like a stiff corpse.
As Wei Zhi continued kissing, she sensed something amiss. The desire in her eyes gradually receded. Taking a deep breath, she reopened them, her usual cool composure restored. She pressed a tender kiss to Yu Xin Xin’s forehead, pulled the blanket over them, and nestled her close. “Sleep,” she murmured softly.
Yu Xin Xin gradually relaxed in her embrace, guilt creeping in. “I’m sorry… it’s not that I don’t want to.” She could tell Wei Zhi had been ready earlier, but her own nervousness had made her hold back.
“Silly girl,” Wei Zhi tightened her hold, voice dripping with affection. “You never have to apologize to me.”
Yu Xinxin was indeed exhausted. As she relaxed, the faint, soothing cool fragrance from the other person’s body lulled her consciousness into a blur, and she drifted into a deep sleep.
