- Chapter 15 - Am I Being Cuckolded? Is Tangtang Secretly Keeping a Lover?
“Ni Yunshi, three years ago, why did you insist on driving me to the point of having nowhere to stand?”
Ruan Tang’s question hung in the air, but the expected explosion of inner thoughts didn’t materialize.
For your safety!
The country was in chaos. It was safer for you to leave!
Tangtang came back too soon. I hadn’t finished cleaning up the loose ends…
Ruan Tang’s heart warmed, but she turned to glare at Ni Yunshi, determined to hear her true, unfiltered thoughts.
“Of course, it was for money, to return to my life of privilege,” Ni Yunshi replied, her words still betraying her true feelings. “And you? Why did you rush back so urgently?”
“For the same reason as you—money.”
If she won’t be honest, I’ll just give her a superficial answer.
Silence descended upon the room again, even the inner thoughts falling silent.
Yet as their gazes locked, Ruan Tang clearly caught a flicker of pity and heartache in Ni Yunshi’s eyes—emotions even she herself seemed unaware of.
Her heart pounded wildly. Ruan Tang clenched her fists, her inner turmoil warring with her resolve. Finally, she spoke: “Ni Yunshi, we share the same goal. Does that mean we’re… in some way, mutually drawn to each other?”
Ni Yunshi’s eyes widened.
Mutually drawn to each other?! Aaaaaah!
Tangtang said we’re mutually drawn to each other! She loves me! She must have come back for me!
Baboons screeching! Piglets rolling!
I can’t hold back! No, I must! I must maintain the image Tangtang loves!
Though her heart screamed, her crimson lips merely twitched twice, and the wild glint in her eyes slowly faded.
If Ruan Tang couldn’t hear her thoughts, she would have sworn Ni Yunshi despised her.
After a long, silent wait, Ruan Tang suddenly felt a wave of shame. In that instant, she was transported back to her foolish, adolescent self from her previous life.
She had wholeheartedly fawned over Ni Yunshi, only to be met with disdainful glances. Now, even after finally summoning the courage to test the waters, Ni Yunshi remained utterly indifferent.
The frustration intensified, morphing into unbearable humiliation.
Ruan Tang scoffed, desperate to escape the cool, detached demeanor of Ni Yunshi before her.
But rising too abruptly, her post-illness weakness and the dizziness from oxygen deprivation made her stumble.
“Careful!”
Slender fingers wrapped around her wrist, tugging her back.
“Uh!”
Ruan Tang gasped, regaining her composure only to find herself seated again.
This time, however, she wasn’t on the soft bed, but straddling Ni Yunshi’s long, elegant legs.
Ni Yunshi’s arm cradled Ruan Tang’s back, while her other hand circled her leg.
Seemingly unaware that the woman in her arms had regained consciousness, Ni Yunshi’s fingers and palm roamed restlessly over Ruan Tang’s waist and thigh.
My heart aches! I need to take care of Tangtang myself! Hold on, hold on!
Ah, I can’t resist! Her waist is so soft, her legs so long!
I want to lick her all over! I want to be Tangtang’s lapdog!
At such close proximity, Ruan Tang even saw Ni Yunshi swallow hard.
Instantly, shame and anger surged through her once more.
Ruan Tang grabbed Ni Yunshi’s collar, her body trembling with rage. “You b1tch! You deserve to be locked up!”
Ni Yunshi didn’t struggle, merely tilted her head back to gaze at Ruan Tang.
Hmm, why is she angry again?
Hehe, she’s in my arms, clutching me, her eyes fixed only on me!
An angry Tangtang must be melt-in-your-mouth delicious, bursting with sweetness!
Ni Yunshi’s improper thoughts grew more intense, while Ruan Tang’s heart fluttered at the secret caresses.
Due to their seated positions, Ruan Tang finally found herself slightly taller than Ni Yunshi. Whether from anger or physical discomfort, her breathing grew heavier.
The dry air gradually warmed.
Suddenly, a warm, moist sensation pressed against her lips.
Ruan Tang jerked her head down and angrily bit Ni Yunshi’s lower lip.
Ni Yunshi abandoned even the pretense of resistance. Her arms tightened around Ruan Tang like vines, and her lips, without hesitation, began to conquer and plunder.
As long as I don’t initiate, my cool and aloof persona won’t crumble!
So, if I make the first move, she’ll just go along with it?
That shameless woman! Why does she have to maintain her aloof persona? Forcing me to make this humiliating first move?
Shame and indignation warred within Ruan Tang, yet her fingers had already found the buttons on Ni Yunshi’s blouse.
Just as she was about to unfasten them, her wrist was seized in a firm grip.
Ni Yunshi abruptly stopped Ruan Tang’s movements, ending their lingering kiss.
Before Ruan Tang could react, Ni Yunshi had already risen to her feet, forcing Ruan Tang to stand as well. But before she could steady herself, a gentle push sent her tumbling back onto the soft bed. The quilt was pulled over her head, concealing her already flushed cheeks.
“Let’s take a nap,” Ni Yunshi said casually, as if nothing had happened.
Phew! That was a sugar rush! I almost broke character!
Slow down, just a few more days.
Once Tangtang is completely recovered, I’ll… hehehe…
How had she managed to stop herself just now and hold back?
Ruan Tang was furious and bewildered. But before she could demand an explanation, a knock sounded at the door.
“Miss, Miss Ni, I’ve brought your things,” Aunt Yuan called from outside.
“What is it?” Ruan Tang asked irritably.
“It’s a package Miss Gu sent from overseas. It arrived the day you went to the hospital,” Aunt Yuan reminded her.
Ruan Tang suddenly remembered Gu Hewan had prepared a birthday gift for her. She quickly got out of bed, opened the door, and let Aunt Yuan bring it in.
The package was an exquisitely crafted cardboard box, about half the size of a table.
Ni Yunshi, curious, leaned closer to watch.
When the box was opened, a pure white tulle gown lay inside.
Ruan Tang lifted it out and realized it was an elaborately crafted wedding dress.
Diamonds and pearls were lavishly scattered across the handmade lace, as if they were worthless.
The mermaid silhouette, though restricting large strides, perfectly accentuated the wearer’s figure.
Beneath the gown was a delicate shoe box containing matching wedding shoes: pure white leather with slender gold heels, clearly custom-made.
Why would Gu Hewan send me these things? Ruan Tang wondered.
Ni Yunshi’s face darkened, her gaze fixed ominously on the white tulle.
Who’s this Gu woman pulling such a stunt? Trying to steal my girl right under my nose?!
No, no, no! This must be a blessing from a friend!
Ahhh—explain yourself immediately!
Ni Yunshi’s icy gaze shifted from the wedding dress to Ruan Tang.
Even though Ruan Tang knew what Ni Yunshi was thinking, she couldn’t quite grasp Gu Hewan’s intentions. After a moment’s hesitation, she remained silent.
What’s with this hesitation?!
No way! This has to be a joke!
Am I being cheated on? Is she really keeping a secret lover behind my back?
Ni Yunshi bit her lip, her eyes reddening as fury churned in her beautiful gaze.
In the end, she didn’t utter a single accusation. Instead, she turned gracefully and fled as if escaping.
Ruan Tang frowned, wanting to chase after her, but a sudden wave of dizziness rooted her to the spot.
“Rest first, Miss Ruan. I’ll go calm Miss Ni down,” Aunt Yuan said.
“Hurry,” Ruan Tang urged, quickly pulling out her phone to call Gu Hewan.
Gu Hewan always answered Ruan Tang’s calls instantly.
The moment the call connected, Ruan Tang demanded, “Why are there a wedding dress and shoes in the package?”
But this time, the familiar voice didn’t answer her question.
