The Cold White Moonlight Desires Me Every Day - Chapter 30
The alcohol content wasn’t high, but for Ruan Tang, it still burned her stomach and heart. The scalding sensation spread through her bloodstream, engulfing her entire body.
She barely managed to stand for another ten minutes.
When someone approached Gu Hewan to strike up a conversation, Ruan Tang, standing beside her as a guest, began to sway unsteadily.
“Xiao Tang is drunk. I’ll take her…” Gu Hewan started to say, but Ni Yunshi interrupted her.
“I’ll take President Ruan to the lounge. It wouldn’t be appropriate for Miss Gu to abandon the seniors who came specifically to welcome you.”
Without waiting for a response, Ni Yunshi draped Ruan Tang’s arm over her shoulder and guided her downstairs.
How can a meat bun fight a dog?
Drunk and restless, like dry wood to a flame—Tangtang can only burn me!
Ruan Tang frowned. “I’m not confused.”
Though she couldn’t stand straight, her mind remained perfectly clear!
Ni Yunshi scolded her under her breath, “Confused and drunk aren’t the same thing. If you can’t handle alcohol, don’t force yourself.”
With that, she tightened her grip on Ruan Tang’s arm.
Ooh-hoo-hoo! Drunk Tangtang is so soft and cuddly!
This wrist, this waist, this flushed little face…
Ah, why is she glaring at me? Waaah, even her angry face is so adorable!
Ruan Tang’s furious glare faltered, and the anger in her heart dissipated.
So, she wasn’t trying to violate me, she just… likes me.
Thinking back to everything she had done to Ni Yunshi in the basement…
“Actually, I kind of like it too…”
Click.
Ruan Tang’s voice and the sound of Ni Yunshi opening the door rang out simultaneously.
“What did you say you liked?” Ni Yunshi asked, turning her head.
Seeing her genuinely bewildered expression, Ruan Tang’s face darkened, and all her good mood vanished.
Just as I thought, she’s completely drunk and talking nonsense!
Right, I was just talking nonsense!
This woman deserves to be locked up and humiliated!
Anger surged through Ruan Tang’s heart once more.
Oblivious, Ni Yunshi guided Ruan Tang toward the sofa in the lounge.
But just as they drew near, the limp figure suddenly exerted tremendous force.
“Ugh!” Ni Yunshi gasped.
A sharp pain pierced her neck. Unsteady on her feet but still trying to protect Ruan Tang, they both tumbled backward onto the sofa.

Meanwhile, outside the door:
Gu Hewan’s eyes widened as she took in everything inside the room. Her brain strained to process the scene, nearly overloading.
“Miss Gu!”
A voice called out from a distance.
Gu Hewan snapped back to reality and silently closed the slightly ajar door.
Turning around, she saw a senior colleague from the Tangzhao Group approaching.
“Uncle Li, is there something you need?” Gu Hewan asked, composing herself. However, the shock had left her expression stiff and unnatural.
“Why do you look so pale? Did Ruan Tang get alcohol poisoning?” Uncle Li asked anxiously, reaching for the door.
“N-no!” Gu Hewan quickly blocked his way. “She just can’t hold her liquor. She threw up, and Ni Yunshi is helping her change. It’s not appropriate for you to go in. Let’s head back to the rooftop.”
Gu Hewan led him away, but she remained distracted throughout the rest of the team-building activities.
The wind stirred the clouds as the sun gradually sank toward the horizon.
By evening, the team-building events for Bai Mei’er and the Tangzhao Group executives had finally concluded.
In the lounge:
Ruan Tang had slept for two hours, exhaustion weighing her down. When she finally opened her eyes, the dizziness had largely subsided.
“Drink some water. It’s time to go home,” Ni Yunshi said, handing her a cup of tea.
Ruan Tang didn’t take the cup. Instead, she drank directly from it, using Ni Yunshi’s hand as a guide.
Suddenly remembering her drunken behavior, she recoiled from the cup as if electrocuted.
Her cheeks are flushed—she’s so adorably shy!
Maybe I should just take her right here and now for another round.
Ni Yunshi’s predatory gaze roamed over Ruan Tang’s disheveled collar and rumpled skirt.
Ruan Tang immediately pressed her legs together and straightened her clothes.
At that moment, a knock sounded on the door.
“Come in,” Ni Yunshi called out.
The door swung open, and Gu Hewan stepped inside.
Her eyes swept the room, noting Ruan Tang still buttoning her shirt, before settling on Ni Yunshi. “Bringing your employees on a team-building retreat only to leave them hanging all afternoon while you relax in the lounge? That’s hardly appropriate, is it?”
“The staff can only truly relax and enjoy themselves when the boss isn’t around,” Ni Yunshi replied matter-of-factly. “Besides, President Ruan and I had already agreed to ‘discuss work’ this afternoon.”
She emphasized the last four words with deliberate force, as if staking her claim.
Gu Hewan’s gaze darkened slightly, but she remained silent.
The temperature in the room began to drop once more.
“I’m sorry, Hewan. I lost my composure today and caused you trouble,” Ruan Tang said, rising to her feet and steering the conversation away from the awkward moment.
Gu Hewan smiled faintly and shook her head silently. “Let’s go home.”
Without waiting for Ni Yunshi to react, she took Ruan Tang’s hand.
Let go! Let go of her, you b1tch!
Ni Yunshi stepped forward to block their path, narrowing her eyes as she glared at their joined hands.
Ruan Tang said awkwardly, “Hewan, where are you staying? I’ll take you home first.”
“I came straight to the company from the airport and didn’t book a hotel. Can I stay at your place for now?” Gu Hewan winked at Ruan Tang.
Ruan Tang nodded readily. After living abroad for three years, she couldn’t possibly turn away a friend who had returned to help her.
Ni Yunshi’s expression darkened further.
Before she could speak, Gu Hewan interjected, “I know Xiao Tang’s father asked you to stay at the Ruan family home, but now the Ruan family belongs to Xiao Tang. Since the owner has spoken, are you trying to usurp her authority?”
