- Chapter 6 (Final Episode) - A Fresh Start with a New Harem—Or So I Thought?! The Old Harem Assembles, and Now What?!!
“Hero Laslo, monsters have been appearing in masse in the southwestern mountains.”
Oh crap, that’s exactly where I forcefully tore open a portal!
I mean, it wasn’t my fault—I didn’t know how to close it! I was alone, okay?!
“Their movements are organized. A new Demon King may have emerged.
Therefore, you shall investigate—and, if possible, eliminate the threat—along with your betrotheds:
Sage Mios, Swordswoman Roslie, Assassin Natalie, and Mage Hami. Understood?”
I stood at the front, while my new harem members saluted behind me in unison.
“Yes, Your Majesty!”
The king, looking pleased, seemed to relish the sight of my assembled fiancées.
“Upon your safe return, we will hold your wedding with grand festivities. The entire kingdom shall celebrate!”
Great. What should I do now?
Sealing that portal would require an exceptionally skilled sage, saint, and mage.
Even then, I wasn’t sure it could be fully closed…
(For now, I’ll just focus on training this new harem party.)
Everyone looked at me and nodded with determination.
“Alright, let’s go.”
“Yes, Laslo-sama!”
I bowed to the king and turned toward the exit when—
“Wait!”
The voice rang out, stopping me in my tracks.
I turned to see—could it be? No, but…
I glanced at the king.
“Your Majesty?!”
“Indeed. Your harem had collapsed.
No one waited for you, believing you to be truly dead.
However… I did send word.”
And then—Alina the Saintess burst into the hall!
“I’m sorry! I couldn’t save you! But I never stopped praying for you!”
Hot on her heels, Yolan the Swordswoman, Emily the Archer, and Nelly the Witch charged in!
“I’ve settled things—I’m coming back to you, Laslo!”
“I was wrong! Please, forgive me! I’ll do anything!”
“Laslo-samaaaaa! Your Nelly has come to smother you with love againnnnn!”
…They had all grown older.
But they were alive and well—that was what mattered.
Still…
“You three—what about your children?”
“It’s handled. The marquis’ sons won’t suffer because of me.”
“I’ll send letters. That will be the end of it.”
“I… uh… just kinda… walked out.”
And then—
“Alina, what about the monastery?”
“Oh, I destroyed it. ♪”
The old harem swarmed around me.
Then, the new fiancées stepped in to block them.
“You are too late. Kindly return to the ruins of your monastery.”
“Laslo-sama does not need rusted swords to protect him.”
“Should I put them to sleep with poisoned needles?”
“Aunt, how dare you return after having seven children?”
And thus, chaos erupted.
I looked at the king.
He had—run away.
(Hmmm…)
The new harem lacked experience and a deep bond with me.
The old harem had been shattered, but they had years of battle experience and knew me better than anyone.
So, logically… if I combined them, wouldn’t that be the perfect party for defeating the new Demon King?!
“Listen up! First, let’s deal with the monster outbreak. Peace comes first. That’s the priority!”
The two groups stared at each other—
and then, the first to speak was Mios from the new harem.
“Agreed. We must prove our love by fighting alongside you.”
Not to be outdone, Alina stepped forward.
“For twelve years, we’ve been apart. Now, we will love you twice as much to make up for lost time.”
Their gazes locked, the air crackling with tension.
…Scary.
“To the southwestern mountains—let’s move out!”
“Yes, Laslo-sama!”
And so, my new and old harems merged into one absurdly overpowered party,
setting out to confront the new Demon King.
(How the hell is this going to end…?)
