The Crazy Fox Demon Devours My Heart - Chapter 34
When Qingyu came out of the room, Fu Yin curiously asked, “Princess, why is your face as red as a monkey’s bottom?”
Qingyu touched her face and indeed felt it was a little hot.
She immediately quickened her pace toward the lakeside pavilion.
Fu Yin called out behind her.
“Princess, where are you going?”
Qingyu didn’t look back, simply throwing over a reply:
“It’s hot. I’m going to get some fresh air.”
Fu Yin stared at her rapidly retreating figure and looked up at the sky.
Was it really that hot today?
Inside the secret chamber, Ye Die’er stared at the large pool of bl00d on the floor and laughed aloud.
Her features twisted together in delight — it seemed the woman had been heartlessly plucked, dead at last. What a relief!
Her smile suddenly contorted into a face full of malice, and she spat on the floor.
“You weren’t supposed to make the Young Master utterly devoted to you, lost in infatuation?”
“Yet you still died in his hands! Now, how will you contend with me?”
Ye Die’er returned to inform Grandmother, who suppressed her excitement and carefully confirmed.
“Did you see clearly? That woman is really dead?”
Ye Die’er: “Grandmother, I saw it with my own eyes. Bl00d is everywhere — it must be that wretched woman!”
“Good, very good! Yan’er has finally reclaimed his tail! Heaven will not forsake our demon clan!”
Ye Die’er accompanied Grandmother to the lakeside courtyard.
When Cangya opened the door, he was startled and immediately knelt, saluting loudly. “Greetings, Grandmother.”
Ye Die’er rubbed her ears.
“Why are you shouting so loudly?”
Grandmother entered the main hall, noticing Fox Yan seated at the main seat.
He held a teacup, sipping leisurely, appearing calm and composed.
Grandmother sensed something was off.
“Yan’er, why does your face look so pale?”
“Thank you for your concern, Grandmother. It’s nothing serious,” Fox Yan replied.
He set down the teacup and glanced at Ye Die’er.
Ye Die’er’s heart skipped a beat, her body hair standing on end.
The Young Master’s eyes had been brimming with murderous intent just now!
She looked at Grandmother and felt slightly reassured.
With Grandmother present, the Young Master would not dare act recklessly against her.
After Grandmother sat, fearing that Yan’er might not easily accept reality, she spoke to comfort him.
“The woman is dead, so let it be. Your health is what matters most.”
“Yes! Young Master, you are magnificent and unparalleled. Any woman could pursue you. Many in the demon clan admire you, even Ye Die’er herself is devoted to you.”
Ye Die’er echoed her words, a little presumptuously, drawing a glance from Grandmother, who didn’t comment further.
Fu Yin entered carrying tea, first bowing to Grandmother and presenting it.
Then she went to Ye Die’er, forcefully slamming the tea down.
The cup tipped, spilling scalding tea onto Ye Die’er’s hand.
Ye Die’er screamed and jumped up, shaking her sleeve as her hand reddened and burned.
Fu Yin feigned surprise.
“Oh! I’m terribly sorry, my hand slipped.”
Ye Die’er’s hand trembled from the burn, glaring at Fu Yin.
“Your master is dead, and yet you dare act so brazenly!”
Ye Die’er then turned to Grandmother.
“Grandmother, since the mistress is dead, her maid serves no purpose either. Perhaps I should deal with her myself!”
“You’re the one who’s dead! Don’t dare curse my princess here, you big moth!”
Enraged, Ye Die’er conjured a poisoned needle and shot it toward Fu Yin’s eyes.
Just as the needle was about to strike, a slender, soft hand grabbed Fu Yin’s clothes, pulling her out of harm’s way.
The poisoned needle lost its target and clattered to the ground.
Qingyu had shielded Fu Yin behind her and kicked the needle away.
“You’re still alive!”
Ye Die’er could hardly believe her eyes.
This woman was still alive and standing before her, perfectly fine.
How was this possible? Her Soul Control technique could not have failed!
The Young Master had clearly been under her control, and there had indeed been a large pool of bl00d in the secret chamber.
How had this woman escaped?
Grandmother’s eyes widened in disbelief upon seeing Qingyu.
“How can it be you? Yan’er didn’t pluck your heart?”
“Yan’er, what exactly happened?”
Fox Yan’s tone was calm, as if discussing something ordinary.
“Grandmother, I told you I wouldn’t harm Ah Yu. I’ve already refined the demon tail inside her.”
“What! You actually… Yan’er, are you crazy? Are you trying to anger Grandmother to death?”
Grandmother’s heart ached.
“Do you realize what refining the demon tail means? It means you can never reclaim your own tail. Without it, how can you lead the demon clan? How can you command the respect of the clan? Chaos will erupt, and the peace that has been built over hundreds of years will be destroyed!”
Ye Die’er, upon learning the truth, felt as though doused in cold water; her fingertips went icy.
No wonder the Soul Control had easily manipulated him — he had been pretending all along.
Fox Yan rose and knelt directly before Grandmother.
“Grandmother, I promise you, what you worry about will never happen. I have never relied on the prestige of being a nine-tailed fox. Even without that tail, I have confidence in leading the clan. I was raised under your and the elders’ guidance, and I am willing to guard the demon realm, even if it costs my life.”
Fox Yan raised his head, eyes sincere and resolute.
“Grandmother, all I want is Ah Yu — no one else.”
“Please grant me permission to marry Ah Yu.”
His words were earnest, each one expressing loyalty to the demon clan.
Grandmother, having watched him grow up, knew his character. She understood that his words were true.
Yan’er had never asked her for anything, and now he was pleading for this woman.
She couldn’t bear to refuse his one and only request.
“Grandmother asks, did you never intend to reclaim your tail and had planned to refine it all along?”
“Yes.”
Grandmother thought for a moment. She had known he wouldn’t harm the woman but had not expected him to secretly arrange everything, letting the plan unfold perfectly.
Such cunning was truly surpassing her expectations.
“Just hope you won’t regret it later. Rise.”
“Thank you, Grandmother. Yan’er will not regret it.”
Fox Yan understood that her words meant consent.
He would no longer trouble Ah Yu, and could finally let her be with him safely.
Qingyu looked at Fox Yan, unsure how to react.
When the marriage was mentioned, she had secretly wished Grandmother would refuse.
But things went against her wishes — Grandmother agreed.
Ye Die’er’s face turned progressively darker, her anger reaching its peak.
Grandmother had agreed to the Young Master’s marriage, despite all her schemes and efforts.
In the end, she had only made a wedding gift for someone else! How could that woman steal her place?
The Young Master belonged to her! She would never give him up!
Ye Die’er clenched a poisoned needle, its tip glinting ominously.
While no one was paying attention, she fired the needle straight toward Qingyu.
