The Crazy Fox Demon Devours My Heart - Chapter 36
Qingyu sat by the window, carefully wiping the blade with a soft cloth.
Suddenly, a tiny bird flew in from outside, heading straight for her and landing on her shoulder.
It was a messenger crow!
After all this time, her senior brother had finally sent a message!
Qingyu forcibly suppressed her excitement and tilted her head slightly to listen carefully.
The crow opened and closed its beak, spelling out the words one by one:
“Senior… sister… is… well.”
“The matter… has… been… settled.”
“See… in… two… days.”
Two days later coincided exactly with Fox Yan’s and Guan’s designated day. The demon clan’s defenses would be lax then, making it the perfect opportunity to escape.
Senior brother said he would meet her in two days. Could it be that he had also come to the demon realm? Outside the demon realm, the only possible meeting place was Fuglow Town!
Wonderful! With her senior brother’s assistance, their chance of escape increased significantly.
There were still two days until the agreed time, and Qingyu had many tasks to accomplish during that period.
The physician was busy in his clinic, taking dried herbs and grinding them in a mortar.
Seeing him at work, Qingyu didn’t interrupt, quietly handing over additional herbs.
Two hours passed as he ground all the herbs and packed the resulting powders. Finally, he spoke:
“Princess, you are very patient. What brings you to see this old man?”
“Sir, is there any other method to cure the Young Master’s torn demon soul?”
The physician replied gruffly, “Unless you reclaim that tail, there’s no cure. At most, you can only ease the pain.”
The demon tail had already been refined; reclaiming it was impossible. Qingyu wanted to know how to ease his suffering.
“How can the pain be alleviated?”
“To relieve the pain, the most effective method is heart’s bl00d. One drop can delay the agony of an episode.”
So there was a method!
Qingyu had worried about how Fox Yan’s condition would fare after she left. Now it seemed that if she left enough heart’s bl00d for him beforehand, he could endure for a while, and she could deliver fresh heart’s bl00d to him annually.
With the answer she needed, Qingyu left the clinic and summoned a giant eagle to return to the tribe she had visited before.
At the tribe’s entrance, Sanwa, who had been playing with mud, saw her immediately and ran over, hugging her tightly, his body covered in yellow mud.
Qingyu held his hands gently. “Sanwa, where’s your mother?”
Sanwa mumbled, “Mom’s at home.”
Qingyu wiped the yellow mud from his face. “Then may I come to your house for a visit?”
“Sure! Come with me, sister!” Sanwa said, grabbing her hand and running home.
Inside, the rabbit spirit was making herbal cakes. At first, she was startled to see Sanwa dragging someone in, but upon seeing Qingyu’s face, her surprise turned to joy.
Seeing the cakes on the stove, Sanwa grabbed one and ran off with it.
The rabbit spirit shouted angrily, “Sanwa, wash your hands!”
Then she realized they had a guest, and feeling embarrassed, cleared her throat.
Qingyu got straight to the point: “I have a request.”
Without hesitation, the rabbit spirit replied, “Princess, speak your mind. Whatever it is, I’ll do my best to help. You saved my Sanwa, and I’ve been wondering how to repay you. If I can help, it would be wonderful.”
Qingyu knew that asking the rabbit spirit for help was risky. Drawing heart’s bl00d needed secrecy, and since Fox Yan visited daily, it was unsafe to do it at the lakeside pavilion. If he saw, his temper would compel him to question everything.
In the demon realm, the only one she trusted enough to help was the rabbit spirit. After careful thought, Qingyu decided to ask her.
“I need your help to draw heart’s bl00d,” she said.
“What?!” The rabbit spirit exclaimed. “Princess, why would you want heart’s bl00d? That’s not something to take lightly!”
“I have my reasons. Please help me.”
The rabbit spirit paced nervously, but seeing Qingyu’s determination, she eventually agreed.
She sent the remaining six little ones out to play, each with a piece of herbal cake.
Once the house was quiet, the rabbit spirit peered outside, ensured no one was watching, and closed the doors and windows.
“Will you draw it today?” she asked.
Qingyu nodded. The rabbit spirit, sighing, led her into the inner room.
Qingyu removed her outer garments and sat down, pulling open her left collar to reveal her pale chest.
The rabbit spirit arranged nine jade bottles she kept in reserve, all a light blue color.
These bottles were originally used to store dew from herbs, and still carried a faint grassy fragrance.
“These bottles are ideal for storing the liquid. It won’t spoil. I now gift them to you.”
“Thank you,” Qingyu said. She had been worried about how to store the heart’s bl00d; now that problem was solved.
The rabbit spirit heated a small knife over the fire, her gaze on Qingyu’s exposed chest.
“If you fear the pain, I can knock you unconscious first.”
Qingyu shook her head. “No. I’m not afraid. I must watch the bl00d being drawn.”
Previously, her bl00d would trigger demonic frenzy, likely due to Fox Yan’s demon tail. That raw demonic power had driven all creatures mad. Now that the tail had been refined into spiritual power, she wondered if it would still have the same effect.
Seeing her determination, the rabbit spirit didn’t insist. She made a small incision on Qingyu’s chest and slowly inserted the knife.
The moment her skin was cut, Qingyu bit her lower lip and gripped the chair tightly, cold sweat slowly streaming down her face.
As the knife reached the deepest point, intense pain radiated from her chest, and her body shivered instinctively.
The rabbit spirit pressed a jade bottle to the wound, collecting the heart’s bl00d, filling three bottles consecutively.
The faint metallic smell of bl00d filled the air. The rabbit spirit remained unfazed, allowing Qingyu to relax.
Observing Qingyu’s pale face, she asked, “Princess, shall we stop here for today and take the rest after you recover?”
“I can endure. We must get enough today.”
The bl00d scent grew stronger. The rabbit spirit filled another three bottles. Qingyu’s body began to shake, her lips pale.
Worried, the rabbit spirit advised, “That’s enough. I’m concerned you’ll lose too much bl00d.”
“Continue,” Qingyu’s voice trembled. She bit her lip harder to stay conscious.
The rabbit spirit had no choice but to fill the remaining three bottles.
Once all nine jade bottles were full, the rabbit spirit quickly healed Qingyu’s chest.
A healer by nature, skilled in restorative magic, the rabbit spirit treated the wound with ease. Qingyu’s lost bl00d would slowly recover over time.
Qingyu looked at her chest — not a single scar remained. This was perfect, as it prevented Fox Yan from smelling the bl00d and becoming suspicious.
“Thank you. Could you deliver these nine bottles to the Fox Clan palace in two days, and say they are a gift from me to Young Master and Guan?”
