The Crazy Professor Forced Me to Mark Her - Chapter 5
Medical students’ schedules were packed from morning till night. Evenings at the bar were the busiest time, and on weekends, they wouldn’t close until two or three in the morning. Qi Si didn’t have the nerve to knock on the dorm supervisor’s door at such late hours, so she simply stayed behind after closing, studying under a single lamp until dawn. Then, she’d ride a shared bike back to her dorm to catch up on sleep.
After weeks of this routine, Qi Si was completely drained. Her biological clock was thrown into chaos, and she couldn’t stay awake during daytime classes. To make matters worse, the medical theory lectures were dry and monotonous, with professors droning on from textbooks. The classroom atmosphere was dismal, with students either playing on their phones or dozing off. The only thing that roused their interest was roll call, but Qi Si’s name, with its rare characters, was often deliberately skipped.
Before long, Qi Si learned to skip classes. Her first target was the Wednesday afternoon lecture taught by Su Moxia as a substitute.
Shen Yixuan was furious. He repeatedly messaged her, demanding an explanation, and even came to her dorm to knock on her door. But Qi Si remained elusive from morning till night, and her roommates claimed to know nothing.
It had only been half a month since the start of the semester, and the freshmen were still in their exploration phase, busy joining clubs and making friends. Everyone was glued to their phones, constantly checking group chats, and any juicy gossip spread like wildfire.
One day, while Qi Si was working at the bar, she received several messages from high school classmates she hadn’t heard from in over a year.
Lai Gaoyuan: Link from A University forum. Title: [Distinguishing Between Goddess Mo Xiao’s Natural Scent and Pheromones—As Her Ex, I Have Some Authority on This]
Lai Gaoyuan: Is this you? How could you be so despicable?
Lai Gaoyuan: Let Mo Xiao go, and let yourself go too. Why are you still clinging to her?
Lai Gaoyuan: Delete that post and apologize immediately! Or you’re dead meat!
Zhou Weihang: You fucking piece of sh1t! Did your whole family die and leave you with no one to control you? Pulling such a rotten stunt—I should have brought a knife that day and stabbed you, you disgusting bastard!
Qi Si frowned as she opened the forum, skimming through the posts. Her frown deepened with each passing moment.
The original poster claimed to be Su Moxia’s ex-girlfriend. Initially, they posted irrelevant gossip, but as the thread gained traction and drew criticism, the OP finally revealed their so-called “evidence”: Su Moxia’s high school name, class, and even a photo of her in the classroom.
The thread exploded in popularity. The OP kept dangling morsels of information, fueling the frenzy. The thread devolved into a venting ground, filled with crude jokes and lewd comments about the “goddess.” One moment, someone claimed to have witnessed her in heat; the next, someone boasted about knowing her measurements. The vulgarity escalated, while the OP vanished, watching the fire they had ignited burn ever brighter.
Qi Si, an innocent bystander, suffered the consequences. She blocked her former high school classmates, but her phone was immediately flooded with anonymous insults, vibrating incessantly.
Zhou Danqing, coming to the wine cabinet for a bottle, heard the commotion and chuckled. “Xiao Qi, busier than me?”
Qi Si switched her phone to airplane mode and put it away. “Sorry.”
“Just teasing,” Zhou Danqing said, selecting the most expensive bottle of Ace of Spades. She chose a sparklingly clean stemmed glass, kissed its rim with her crimson lips, and placed it before Qi Si. “VIP Room 101. Tell them it’s on me.”
A faint red lipstick stain lingered on the glass, but what truly caught the eye was the Boss’s alluring attire.
Who could make a wealthy and beautiful Boss lower herself to such flattery? Qi Si couldn’t help but wonder.
Could it be that Omega sister from last time? It’s been ages since I’ve seen her.
Pushing open the door to VIP Room 101, she found a man in his thirties inside, his Alpha pheromones subtly permeating the air.
As Qi Si bent to pour the wine, she noticed the man staring at the lipstick stain on the glass, his brow furrowing slightly.
The Alpha’s presence instinctively repelled her. Qi Si completed her duties without betraying any undue curiosity, closed the door, and left.
So the Boss prefers this type? But he doesn’t seem very approachable.
Sure enough, when the man left the VIP room, not a drop of wine had been touched. Zhou Danqing smoked at the entrance for ages before finally announcing closing time at 11 PM.
Qi Si returned to Dorm 602, washed away the lingering scent of alcohol, and brought back fried chicken for her two roommates.
Both of Qi Si’s roommates loved junk food. As she emerged from the bathroom, they eagerly shared the latest gossip: “You won’t believe it—the school forum is going crazy tonight!”
Qi Si borrowed her roommate’s hairdryer, who generously pointed to its location while munching on fried chicken. “It’s hilarious! I bet half the campus is too angry to sleep tonight!”
“What happened?” Qi Si asked.
“Someone posted a thread on the forum to stir up drama about a ‘campus belle’ from the Medical School. The argument got so heated that a bunch of people reported the thread, but the admins were MIA. The post stayed up for three hours! Finally, the reporters got fed up and reportedly hacked the forum website. It’s been down ever since!”
Qi Si checked—the original thread was indeed gone, returning a 404 error.
As expected, computer science students are truly formidable. They can even hack the renowned A University forum.
Her two roommates continued their mindless chatter. One was from the Physical Education College, newly in a relationship; the other was a science major and gaming enthusiast who had transferred departments, ending up in Dorm 602. Normally detached from group activities, they treated school gossip as mere entertainment.
Qi Si, at the center of the public’s attention, paid little heed to the matter. After drying her hair, she picked up her computer science textbook and began studying.
Having finished the theoretical section, Qi Si encountered an insurmountable obstacle: she lacked the practical tools—a computer.
How can I learn computer science without a computer? Am I supposed to code in my head?
But with her current debt situation, every paycheck went straight to repaying her loans. How could she afford a computer?
To make matters worse, Shen Yixuan approached her the next day, urging her to join the class group discussion about the upcoming autumn excursion—another expense she couldn’t afford.
“I have to work on the weekends,” Qi Si said. “I won’t be able to join the autumn excursion.”
“No way! You’ve been skipping classes, skipping class activities, and even skipping club meetings. You can’t keep going like this! Stop obsessing over work—a student’s primary responsibility is to study. Don’t waste your youth chasing after trivial things. You’ll end up struggling to even graduate!”
Qi Si felt like she’d taken an arrow to the knee. Her academic life had been a mess for the past two years. Sometimes, she even dreamed of her former classmates achieving great success while she scrubbed bar counters in dimly lit bars, bowing and scraping to serve others.
“What can I do?” Qi Si asked softly.
Shen Yixuan replied, “The Teacher’s Day gift you suggested last time was excellent. I heard Senior Mo Xiao was thrilled with the flower arrangement and put it in the lab. There’s a poll in the group for the autumn outing destination, and you haven’t voted yet, have you? We’re just a few votes short. Check out the options and cast your vote. If you’re short on funds, I can lend you some.”
Qi Si opened the group chat she had muted. It was 11:50 PM, but the messages were still refreshing in real-time as the excited college students argued heatedly over the autumn outing destination.
Zhao Tao: Universal Studios! Universal Studios! Everyone vote for Universal Studios!
Zhao Tao: My aunt is a shareholder at Universal Studios. I can get us discounted tickets with express passes for just 888 yuan—no lines, guaranteed fun!
Li Qun: We’re all tired of Universal Studios. Check out the new Yaoxue Ski Resort next door—all-new equipment! [Image] [Image]
Zhang Lingchun: Hahaha, what if everyone wants to go? Can we have another autumn outing next month and take turns?
Li Qun: I’m in! ❤️❤️
Qi Si: “……”
Most students who get into A University come from well-off families. Qi Si often saw students on campus carrying luxury bags and wearing designer shoes. These wealthy students flaunted their wealth daily, forming cliques and dominating group activities. For example, the ski resort they recommended was trending online, but a full day of activities there cost at least 2,000 yuan—far beyond what ordinary college students could afford.
Despite their aggressive campaigning, the final vote didn’t go their way. Many silent members of the group voted for “hiking,” a budget-friendly option.
Current Results:
Universal Studios: 23 votes
Yaoxue Ski Resort: 19 votes
Hiking: 23 votes
Zhao Tao: @Everyone Has the vote count been finalized? Is anyone still missing?
Shen Yixuan typed back: Just a moment, one crucial vote remains.
The group chat paused briefly. Soon, a new message appeared on the blank screen: Qi Si has cast her vote.
The Silent Party had won. Qi Si chose mountain climbing. The wealthy students, furious and frustrated, grumbled for a few moments before falling silent, ceding the group chat’s main stage.
Shen Yixuan: 👍👍 A crucial vote.
Ouyang Xia: Yes! Saved half a month’s living expenses. Thank you, @Qi Si!
Meanwhile, in a thousand-member anonymous group, a screenshot of Qi Si’s profile picture and name was posted. User Ju Yuan asked, “Who is this person? The name sounds familiar.”
Anonymous users quickly replied:
A: Her? I know her.
B: That guy’s ex. Haven’t seen her in ages. Wait, wasn’t she the one who posted that thread yesterday?
A: A complete idiot. She crashed the forum and now we can’t even log in. What’s her deal?
C: Who are you guys talking about?
D: Ex-Sister? Is it her?
A: LOL, “Ex-Sister”!
E: Holy crap, the goddess’s ex? The one who crashed the forum yesterday?
F: Which dorm is she in? I want to beat her up and avenge Senior Mo Xiao!
C: Has this person been exposed? Any Jinghai No. 1 High School alumni here to spill the tea?
B: She was in the class next to mine in high school. Not sure about the details, but I heard she applied to our university, probably to keep harassing that guy.
E: Disgusting! Senior Mo Xiao is so pitiful. How could she end up with such a trash ex?
G: Unrequited love turned to bitter hatred. Oh god, I’m so worried about Senior Sister!
Overnight, the news that Qi Si was Su Moxia’s ex-girlfriend exploded in the grade-level group chat!
Qi Si’s high school, Jinghai No. 1 High School, was a renowned key high school. Over two-thirds of its graduates gained admission to top-ten universities. While A University Medical School was notoriously competitive, other departments had lower admission thresholds. Combined with the university’s regional advantage, it was easy to encounter First High School alumni at A University. Unearthing Qi Si’s past proved remarkably simple.
Shen Yixuan was still chatting with athletes in Dorm 602 when the Pink-Haired Girl urgently summoned him back. Closing the door, she sternly warned, “You absolutely must stop associating with Yuan Lu!”
“Huh?” Shen Yixuan replied, confused.
The Pink-Haired Girl showed him the messages from the grade-level group chat. “She’s a total scumbag. It’s already public knowledge. Look, her high school photos have been dug up.”
Shen Yixuan zoomed in on the images. “…She was this handsome even in high school.”
“Dorm Leader! This is a serious matter!”
“It is quite serious. Considering her recent class skipping, this person has major issues.”
“Exactly! We should avoid getting involved with her. You’ve been getting too close lately, and it’s reflecting poorly on us. It’ll tarnish the reputation of Female A students.”
“You shouldn’t have consulted her about the autumn outing!” the Pink-Haired Girl exclaimed, her voice trembling with anger. “You can’t judge people by appearances! No wonder Senior Mo Xiao acted so strangely in class that day—it was all because of her! You need to be more careful about who you associate with. She’s a scumbag! She even posted insults about Senior Mo Xiao online!”
Shen Yixuan: “…But she did offer some good suggestions, like the gift idea…”
Pink-Haired Girl: “The gift thing was suspicious from the start! I thought it was odd how she knew what kind of flowers Senior Sister liked. Now it all makes sense! Ugh!”
Shen Yixuan hesitated, his lips trembling as he scrolled through their chat history. His face grew paler with each message. Finally, he gritted his teeth, turned, and stormed out of the room.
“Hey, where are you going…?” The Pink-Haired Girl trailed off as she heard Shen Yixuan pounding on the door of Dorm 602.
“Damn it! The dorm leader’s being so reckless…” the Pink-Haired Girl fumed, stomping her foot. “Why would he go see her now?!”
Ji Min: “Shh!”
Both dorm doors were wide open, making their entire conversation clearly audible.
The girls from Dorm 601 leaned against their doorframe, overhearing their dorm leader’s questioning voice: “Did you post on the forum yesterday?”
Qi Si: “No.”
Shen Yixuan scoffed, sounding more angry than suspicious of her lying. “Someone’s impersonating you on the forum. Are you aware of this?”
Qi Si: “Yes.”
Shen Yixuan: “And you’re just standing by?! Go clear your name immediately!”
Qi Si’s response was subtle, like a smile, but her tone remained serious. “It’s difficult to prove something I didn’t do. Proving existence is easier than proving absence. Self-vindication is a trap in itself.”
Shortly after, A University’s forum was restored. Official administrators responded to the viral thread, tracing the poster’s IP address to a fourth-year architecture student struggling to find employment. The post had no connection to the rumored “Ex” from Jinghai No. 1 High School.
Despite this, the online malice against Qi Si persisted. Even her Physical Education College roommate advised her before going out: “Wear a mask. You never know when some idiot might target you.”
On Thursday evening of the third week of the semester, Qi Si was practicing coding in the library’s electronic reading room.
Having two rare days off from her bar job, Qi Si seized every moment to catch up on her assignments and study until the library closed. She packed up her USB drive and left.
The elevator was crowded, so Qi Si, as an Alpha, consciously chose to take the stairs.
Someone began following closely behind her, their footsteps echoing in the dimly lit stairwell. The pace was rapid, but with odd pauses in the middle, never quite overtaking Qi Si—as if they were stalking her?!
The thought struck her, and Qi Si stopped on a middle step, pulled out her phone, and switched on the flashlight to peer at the person behind her.
A surprisingly agile fat man hurried down the stairs. When their eyes met, he didn’t hesitate but instead accelerated, lunging forward with a violent shove.
The first thing that hit Qi Si was a wave of pungent, sour odor—the stench of a sweaty fat man in summer. As he collided with her, she realized his T-shirt was damp and greasy, as if someone had smeared sh1t on her face. Panicked, she stumbled backward, falling down several steps, her phone flying out of her hand.
Thud… thud… thud. The phone bounced off the railing, each impact growing more drawn out. Qi Si’s old phone, which had served her faithfully through three years of high school and one year of college, finally met its end.
Qi Si had no intention of picking it up. She scrambled to her feet and asked the fat man, “Did you do that on purpose?”
“How could I? It was definitely an accident,” the fat man grinned menacingly. “Even if I did bump into you on purpose, is that against the law?”
Qi Si glanced at the hallway surveillance camera. The fat man sneered, “So what if the camera caught it? Are you missing an arm or a leg? You dropped your own phone, you idiot!”
“Why?” Qi Si demanded.
“Why? Ask yourself! After all the rotten things you’ve done, you still want to play the victim? I’m warning you, you’d better leave Medical School soon and never show your face to Su Moxia again. Hide like a cockroach—the further away, the better. Wear a mask when you go out so no one recognizes you. Otherwise, these four years at university will be hell for you. Today was just a warning. Next time, you might not be so lucky!”
Qi Si remained silent, watching the fat man swagger past her, his stench suffocating. Suddenly, she kicked him hard behind the knee. He tumbled down thirteen steps, his face mangled by the fall.
