The Crazy Villain Wants Me to Love Her - Chapter 15.2
Chapter 15.2: I Beg You, Stay With Me
But such people are rare.
Could Jiang Chilou be that kind of person?
Gu Wan thought for a moment, then suddenly curved her lips.
Regardless, this wood carving was carved for her, so it could indeed be considered customized.
Gu Wan slightly lowered her eyelids. She put the wood carving back into its original gift box and, as requested, opened the other box. Inside lay a TwoButterfly pendant necklace, with a dazzling white butterfly on the pendant.
“It’s quite pretty,” Gu Wan commented slowly.
Jiang Chilou could tell from her expression that she wasn’t particularly impressed with the necklace.
But it made sense. After all, she was the head of the Gu Corporation, having seen countless rare treasures. It was good enough that this necklace even caught her eye.
Thankfully, I had the spontaneous idea to carve a wood carving. It seems like a surprise victory now.
And…
Jiang Chilou touched her bag. Seeing Gu Wan close the necklace box, she quietly took something out of her bag.
She carefully held the item in her hand, and when Gu Wan turned to look, she suddenly held her hand out in front of the other person.
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Gu Wan, I have one more thing in my hand. Guess what it is?”
Gu Wan glanced at her, shaking her head: “I can’t guess.”
“Why don’t you just tell me?”
Jiang Chilou sighed: “Ugh, fine.”
“You’re just no fun.”
Gu Wan didn’t agree: “This is called no fun?”
She just didn’t want to waste time.
“Uh…” Jiang Chilou paused, momentarily unsure how to answer, and simply said: “Never mind that.”
“You look at what this is first.” With that, Jiang Chilou slowly opened her palm, and a yellow peace talisman was gradually revealed.
Seeing the patch of yellow conspicuously lying in her pink palm, Gu Wan’s expression paused slightly.
She lowered her eyes and abruptly pressed her fingers together, a small ripple stirring in her heart.
A moment later, she stared at Jiang Chilou: “Is this a peace talisman?”
Jiang Chilou lightly nodded her head: “Yes, it is.”
Gu Wan stared at Jiang Chilou, her expression faltering: “You went to Jiang City?”
“Um…” Jiang Chilou pondered for a few seconds. Seeing nothing amiss in Gu Wan’s expression, she slowly nodded: “I heard that Jingxin Temple there is very effective. Since I was planning to get you a gift anyway, I went there this morning to get you a peace talisman.”
“Do you want it?” Jiang Chilou said, pushing the talisman closer to Gu Wan.
Gu Wan lowered her eyes. After a moment of silence, she finally slowly raised her hand and picked up the peace talisman.
Her voice was low: “Thank you.”
Seeing her accept it, Jiang Chilou finally couldn’t help but smile. She rummaged in her bag, pulled out a small talisman pouch, and handed it to Gu Wan: “Here you go.”
“You can put the talisman inside.”
Gu Wan glanced at the orange-yellow pouch, took it, and put the peace talisman inside.
A moment later, she looked up and asked Jiang Chilou: “Are you hungry?”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou rubbed her stomach, saying somewhat sheepishly: “I’m quite hungry.”
She had only eaten a piece of bread and a cup of coffee at the shop this afternoon and hadn’t had dinner.
She hadn’t felt hungry before because she was busy, but now that all her tasks were done, she suddenly felt quite hungry.
Gu Wan looked at Jiang Chilou rubbing her stomach, her lips slightly curled: “Madam Zhou just made you something to eat. It should be ready soon.”
“You can go check.”
“Really?” Jiang Chilou stood up with a smile: “I’ll go check then. Do you want to join me for a little bite?”
“No,” Gu Wan shook her head.
“I’ve eaten. You go ahead.”
“Alright, I’ll go first then.” Jiang Chilou smiled at Gu Wan and turned to head to the dining room.
Gu Wan watched her retreating back, her gaze lingering momentarily on the bouquet of lily of the valley on the shelf.
Good luck?
With Jiang Chilou’s presence suddenly added to her usually quiet life, would it be good luck for her?
Time flies. A week had passed since Jiang Chilou gave Gu Wan the gifts.
It was Friday night.
Gu Wan had been in the third-floor study handling business for a long time before returning to the bedroom.
In the bedroom, Jiang Chilou was happily scrolling through food videos on the bed. Seeing Gu Wan return, she greeted her with a smile: “Are you done working?”
Gu Wan hummed. She walked to the bed and sat down. Looking at Jiang Chilou’s fair, flawless face, she suddenly asked: “Are you free this Sunday evening?”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou slowly nodded: “Yes, I am.”
“But why are you suddenly asking?”
Gu Wan lowered her eyes and said lightly: “There’s a banquet on Sunday evening, and we both need to attend.”
“What kind of banquet? Do I need to be there too?” Jiang Chilou was very curious, pausing the video she was playing.
“Just a charity auction dinner,” Gu Wan said. She glanced at Jiang Chilou and added softly: “Aunt Jiang will also be attending, so… you can catch up with her there.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou nodded: “That works, then I’ll go to the banquet with you.”
She could also take the opportunity to see what everyone was auctioning.
Gu Wan agreed: “Okay.”
She glanced at the person who was full of energy and seemed far from sleepy, and couldn’t help but ask: “It’s so late, why aren’t you sleeping yet?”
She remembered it was almost eleven o’clock when she returned from the third floor.
Jiang Chilou’s sweet words came easily: “I was waiting for you.”
“Waiting for me to do what?” Gu Wan raised an eyebrow at her.
Jiang Chilou chuckled: “I can’t sleep when you’re not here.”
Gu Wan paused, then suddenly chuckled softly, a meaningful look in her eyes as she looked at Jiang Chilou: “Then you can sleep now.”
“I’ll go light some incense.” She said, preparing to get up.
However, just as she stood up, the person on the bed suddenly called out: “Wait.”
Gu Wan looked down at her: “What is it?”
Jiang Chilou curved her lips in a smile: “Um…”
“Can you come with me to the kitchen downstairs to find something to eat?”
Gu Wan chuckled and asked: “Hungry?”
Jiang Chilou nodded obediently: “A little.”
“Because when I was playing on my phone just now, I kept scrolling past delicious food. Watching them eat made me feel like the things in my stomach digested very quickly, so… now I’m a bit hungry.”
Gu Wan: “Why didn’t you go down earlier yourself?”
She remembered Jiang Chilou ate very little at dinner. If she was hungry, she should have felt it a while ago.
Jiang Chilou pursed her lips and gave an awkward smile: “It’s too quiet downstairs. I feel a bit uneasy going down alone.”
“So I wanted you to come with me.”
“Anyway, tomorrow is the weekend, so you’re not in a rush to sleep. Why don’t you just come down with me?” Jiang Chilou asked softly.
Gu Wan lowered her eyes. Jiang Chilou’s pleading expression was instantly visible.
Seeing this, she paused for a moment and didn’t speak.
Jiang Chilou thought Gu Wan was politely refusing, and her starlit eyes blinked.
She looked up at Gu Wan, her cherry lips slightly parted, her voice low and soft: “I beg you~”
“Come down with me, please.”
Gu Wan ultimately went downstairs with Jiang Chilou.
At the kitchen door.
Jiang Chilou just flipped the switch nearby, and the bright fluorescent light instantly illuminated the dark kitchen.
She rushed straight to the refrigerator, expecting to find some ready-made food inside.
However, when she opened the refrigerator, it was full of fresh vegetables, looking like preparations for tomorrow’s meals.
There was no cooked food at all.
She turned to look through the snack section and found some yogurt and potato chips, but they wouldn’t fill her up.
Besides, potato chips were high in calories, and she didn’t like eating such things late at night.
Gu Wan stood behind her and saw her endlessly searching, so she asked: “What’s wrong?”
“Can’t find anything to eat?”
Jiang Chilou turned around and sighed helplessly: “Pretty much.”
“There’s nothing ready-made.”
“If I want to eat, I have to make it myself.”
Gu Wan: “Do you still want to eat?”
“Yes!” Jiang Chilou answered very quickly. Since she was already down here, she couldn’t possibly wander around the kitchen and go back hungry.
“I’ll make it myself.”
Gu Wan was slightly surprised: “Do you know how to cook?”
Jiang Chilou lifted her head: “I know a little bit, more or less. At the very least, I can follow an online video.”
Hearing her say this, Gu Wan paused, then offered: “Do you need my help?”
“You?” Jiang Chilou scanned Gu Wan up and down and shook her head: “Forget it, no need.”
Having lived together for so long, she had never seen Gu Wan cook. It would be better for her to do it herself than to rely on Gu Wan. At least she had cooked in her previous life.
She got straight to work.
Jiang Chilou saw bean curd skin, lettuce, eggs, carrots, and cucumbers in the refrigerator, and decided to make vegetable rolls.
She took out the ingredients and washed them in the sink. As she prepared to slice the cucumbers, her hair slid forward, and her bangs fell over her forehead, blocking part of her vision.
Jiang Chilou looked up, shook her head, and looked at Gu Wan nearby, asking softly: “Gu Wan, can you help me tie up my hair or find a claw clip to clip it up?”
“It’s not very convenient to work with my hair down.”
Gu Wan looked at her when she heard the request and agreed: “Okay.”
She turned and left, returning with a claw clip shortly after.
Seeing this, Jiang Chilou quickly turned her back to Gu Wan: “Help me clip it up.”
Gu Wan hummed, lowered her eyes, helped gather the hair on her back, rolled it upward, and clipped it in place.
With her hair secured, her gaze dropped, and she suddenly caught sight of a beautiful expanse of back right in front of her. Her eyes paused.
Her gaze slowly glided over the other person’s jade-like skin, finally stopping at the thin, light-blue shoulder strap.
So thin.
It looks like it would snap with a slight tug.
“Is it done?” A sudden question abruptly pulled Gu Wan back to her senses.
Gu Wan gently replied: “It’s done.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou turned around, moving her head closer to Gu Wan.
“Help me with my bangs too, while you’re at it. My hands are wet.”
Gu Wan slightly bent her fingers and, as requested, smoothed her bangs behind her ears. Once finished, she withdrew her hand.
As soon as her hair was done, Jiang Chilou immediately turned back and continued making the vegetable rolls.
About ten minutes later, Jiang Chilou placed the rolled vegetable rolls on a plate, prepared the dipping sauce, and then sighed with a smile: “Success!”
With that, she looked at Gu Wan: “Do you want to try some?”
Gu Wan shook her head: “I’m not hungry.”
Jiang Chilou’s eyes curved: “Just try one bite.”
“Taste my skill, how about it?”
Hearing this, Gu Wan looked at her with slight interest: “Alright.”
Seeing her agree, Jiang Chilou picked up a vegetable roll, dipped it in the sauce, and held it out to Gu Wan’s lips: “You try a bite first.”
The vegetable roll rested against her lips. Gu Wan slowly parted her lips, took a small bite, and chewed slowly.
A moment later, with slightly lowered eyes, she gave her assessment: “It’s not bad.”
“Really?” Jiang Chilou was skeptical.
“Then I’ll try too.” She said, bringing the piece of vegetable roll she was holding to her own lips.
Gu Wan watched as her lips slowly covered the spot where she had just bitten, her eyes deepening slightly.
After Jiang Chilou finished eating, she slowly spoke: “How does it taste?”
Jiang Chilou’s starlit eyes curved: “It’s actually quite delicious.”
