The Crazy Villain Wants Me to Love Her - Chapter 28
Chapter 28: Annoying.
Gu Wan gently massaged Jiang Chilou’s forehead. Seeing her expression gradually clearing, she asked: “Feeling better?”
Jiang Chilou nodded: “Mm, much better.”
After being massaged by Gu Wan for a while, and the uncomfortable grogginess passed, Jiang Chilou instantly felt much more alert.
She thought, Maybe it’s because I didn’t dream last night?
But, when did she fall asleep yesterday? It seems like she just suddenly dozed off? She had no memory of it.
Thinking of this, Jiang Chilou couldn’t help but look at the person in front of her: “When did I fall asleep last night?”
Gu Wan gently rubbed Jiang Chilou’s forehead, her expression calm: “We were quite late last night. You were probably tired, so you fell asleep shortly after getting into bed.”
“No more than five minutes.”
“Really?” Jiang Chilou was confused. She didn’t feel that tired last night.
She had even planned to read her novel.
“Mm,” Gu Wan quietly affirmed. Her fingertip brushed Jiang Chilou’s bangs, and as her thumb pad slowly touched the shallow mark on the corner of her forehead, she gradually stopped moving.
She slightly bent her fingers, gently sweeping Jiang Chilou’s bangs aside. Immediately, a faint, almost invisible, thin scar appeared before Gu Wan’s eyes.
She stared at the shallow scar, her gaze gradually returning to Jiang Chilou’s face: “The scar on your forehead is fading quickly.”
“Really?” Jiang Chilou was surprised, momentarily forgetting about last night.
She raised her hand to touch the corner of her forehead, carefully tracing the original injury site, and slowly felt that the previously distinct scar seemed to have faded significantly.
Jiang Chilou felt it for a moment, put her hand down, and quickly turned to grab her phone, opening the camera to check.
After seeing the shallow scar in the camera, which was so faint it was barely visible, she put down her phone and said happily: “It really is fading quickly.”
Except when applying the medicine, Jiang Chilou rarely looked at the scar on her forehead. Sometimes, even when applying the medicine, she would just casually smear some ointment onto the scar’s location based on memory, seldom feeling or observing it carefully.
If Gu Wan hadn’t mentioned it, she might not have noticed this for a few more days.
“I didn’t expect the medicine Dr. Song prescribed to be so effective.” At this rate, if she applies the medicine for about another week, the scar should completely fade.
Gu Wan hummed and asked: “Are you getting up now?”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Yes.”
“I have to go out later.”
Gu Wan’s expression paused slightly: “Go out?”
“Is there something you need to go out for temporarily?” Jiang Chilou hadn’t told her yesterday that she would be going out today.
“It’s about the coffee shop.”
“The coffee shop is closing down in a few days, so I need to go handle some things there today.” Speaking of this, Jiang Chilou paused, then looked at the person beside her and couldn’t help but ask: “Do you want to come with me?”
“After we finish dealing with the coffee shop, we can go to the mall across the street for lunch.”
Hearing this, Gu Wan’s lips slightly curved: “Okay, I’ll go with you.”
At the coffee shop.
Jiang Chilou arranged the contracts on the table, signing the compensation agreements with the four staff members and the manager one by one, agreeing that their salaries and compensation would be deposited into their cards on time in three days. The matter was then concluded.
Although she had long expected that everyone in the shop would choose to take the compensation and resign, Jiang Chilou still felt a little melancholic when everything was finalized.
Because she needed to re-hire so many people.
And arrange training for them and such. The thought alone made her head ache.
Jiang Chilou looked at Gu Wan beside her. Thinking of how effortlessly she managed the vast Gu Group, she couldn’t help but sigh with emotion: “Gu Wan, I realize you are truly amazing.”
Gu Wan: “How so?”
Seeing that Gu Wan wanted to delve deeper, Jiang Chilou couldn’t help but beam: “I just feel like you’re very amazing.”
With that, she smiled, gathered the contracts on the table, and put them in her bag: “Okay, it’s almost lunchtime. Let’s go to the mall across the street for lunch.”
Seeing Jiang Chilou eager to change the subject, Gu Wan chuckled softly.
“Okay.”
In the mall, Jiang Chilou looked at the various shop names marked on the directory, then turned to Gu Wan beside her and asked: “What do you want to eat?”
Gu Wan glanced at the complicated array of restaurants and shook her head slightly: “You decide.”
Seeing this, Jiang Chilou looked at the directory again for a while, then asked Gu Wan: “How about sour soup hot pot?”
“It’s relatively light and not spicy.”
Gu Wan agreed: “Okay.”
“Then let’s go up to the fifth floor first.” Jiang Chilou gently pulled Gu Wan.
They took the elevator up to the fifth floor together. Jiang Chilou was looking around, planning to find the sour soup hot pot restaurant, but unexpectedly, before she found the restaurant, she spotted an acquaintance.
“Gu Wan,” Jiang Chilou subconsciously patted the person beside her, pointing to their front right: “Look, Gu Shuyao is here too.”
Gu Wan followed the direction Jiang Chilou was pointing and indeed saw Gu Shuyao with another girl.
At the same time, Gu Shuyao also saw Jiang Chilou and Gu Wan. She originally wanted to pretend not to notice and change direction to avoid the two of them, mainly Gu Wan. But before she could turn around after taking her friend’s hand, her gaze locked with Gu Wan’s.
The moment their eyes met, Gu Shuyao’s body stiffened.
She forced a stiff smile at Gu Wan and Jiang Chilou before slowly pulling the nearby Wu Xia toward them.
“Cousin, Cousin-in-law, what a coincidence. I didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Shuyao, are you here for lunch too?”
Gu Shuyao: “Yes, I made plans to have lunch with my friend today.”
She had planned to go shopping for clothes with Wu Xia after lunch. She hadn’t expected to run into Gu Wan. She shouldn’t have come to this mall.
Except when necessary, Gu Shuyao absolutely did not want to run into Gu Wan in her free time. It kept her on edge, unable to relax. Although Gu Wan would be more reserved in front of Jiang Chilou, Gu Shuyao still preferred not to encounter her.
Gu Shuyao was so nervous that she completely failed to notice the curious and bold gaze Wu Xia beside her was giving Gu Wan and Jiang Chilou.
Moreover, her gaze lingered on Jiang Chilou.
Gu Wan’s eyes were icy cold. She stared at the person beside Gu Shuyao who showed no restraint, and suddenly spoke: “Aren’t you going to introduce your friend?”
Gu Shuyao was startled. She heard the coolness in Gu Wan’s tone and quickly glanced at Wu Xia beside her, just in time to see Wu Xia withdrawing her gaze from Jiang Chilou.
Gu Shuyao: “…”
She couldn’t help but quietly elbow Wu Xia’s waist. Asking for trouble!
After silently elbowing her, Gu Shuyao managed an awkward smile and introduced them to Jiang Chilou and Gu Wan: “This is Wu Xia, my friend.”
Then, she emphasized to Wu Xia: “Wu Xia, this is my cousin Gu Wan, and my cousin-in-law Jiang Chilou.” Behave yourself!
Wu Xia was bewildered, not understanding why Gu Shuyao suddenly emphasized this, as she had already heard Gu Shuyao mention the two of them before. It was precisely because of those mentions that she couldn’t help but look at them for a bit, curious.
She suspected that Jiang Chilou was the person who bought a large set of carving tools from her a few days ago, which was why she looked a few times longer.
Despite her inner thoughts, Wu Xia proactively greeted Gu Wan and Jiang Chilou: “Hello. It’s nice to meet you.”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Hello.”
Gu Wan’s eyes were slightly cool. She only gave a slight nod.
She stared at Wu Xia, her eyes like a deep ink pool.
A moment later, Gu Wan looked away. Seeing the faint smile on Jiang Chilou’s lips because of Wu Xia, the darkness in her eyes churned instantly.
She opened her lips, casting a cold glance at Gu Shuyao: “Weren’t you going to have lunch with your friend?”
“Why are you still here?”
Meeting those cold eyes, Gu Shuyao couldn’t help but shiver. She quickly pulled Wu Xia: “We’re going now.”
“Goodbye, Cousin-in-law. Goodbye, Cousin.” Before her farewell was completely finished, Gu Shuyao quickly pulled Wu Xia past them and walked away.
Jiang Chilou saw her walk away so fast and couldn’t help but smile: “I notice that except for the time you talked about a collaboration, Shuyao runs away very quickly every time she sees you.”
She teased the person beside her: “Gu Wan, do you have a heavy presence of authority in the Gu family?”
Gu Wan slowly concealed the coldness in her eyes, her tone slightly flat: “Perhaps.”
After a few seconds, she looked up at Jiang Chilou: “Let’s go. We should also go eat.”
“Mm-hmm.” Jiang Chilou quickly agreed twice and led Gu Wan in the direction of the sour soup hot pot restaurant.
Inside the restaurant, Jiang Chilou and Gu Wan sat on one side and ordered food together. After ordering, Jiang Chilou handed the menu to the waiter, smiled and said thank you, and then sat down opposite Gu Wan.
While waiting for the food, Gu Wan looked at Jiang Chilou across the table, her tone slow: “Lulu, I notice you seem to smile a lot.”
“Do I?”
Jiang Chilou paused: “Is that so? I think I’m just normal.” Sometimes she just smiles out of habit and courtesy.
But why was Gu Wan asking this out of the blue?
Jiang Chilou looked at the person across from her, confused: “What’s wrong?”
Gu Wan lowered her eyes, concealing the darkness in them: “Nothing.”
She just didn’t like Jiang Chilou smiling at other people.
Seeing it annoyed her.
