The Crazy Villain Wants Me to Love Her - Chapter 29
Chapter 29: Not Allowed to Go.
Jiang Chilou and Gu Wan spent two hours eating hot pot, leaving Jiang Chilou feeling overly full and a bit uncomfortable.
She hadn’t meant to eat so much, but the sour soup hot pot was truly appetizing. Jiang Chilou couldn’t help but overeat. Plus, since Gu Wan ate very little, almost all the dishes they ordered ended up in Jiang Chilou’s stomach.
Fortunately, they hadn’t ordered too many dishes. Otherwise…
Jiang Chilou touched her slight post-meal belly. Otherwise… her little belly might have been more noticeable.
“Sigh.” Jiang Chilou sighed softly.
She silently glanced at Gu Wan’s stomach. Seeing that it was still flat, she felt a pang of frustration.
She wasn’t eating anything tonight!
And she wouldn’t eat this much again!
Gu Wan noticed Jiang Chilou’s subtle belly-rubbing action and heard her sigh, asking: “Are you feeling very uncomfortable?”
Jiang Chilou nodded: “A bit.”
Gu Wan frowned: “Do you want to take some digestive tablets?”
“No need.” Jiang Chilou shook her head. She didn’t want to take those.
“Just walking around more will help. Walking can also aid digestion.”
Hearing this, Gu Wan glanced at their surroundings and quietly asked: “There are many brands of clothes and jewelry on the first, second, and third floors. Do you want to go browse?”
Jiang Chilou leaned her hands on the mall’s glass railing, slowly looking down, and indeed saw many brand stores.
She nodded, just about to agree, when a promotional video suddenly started playing on the mall’s central LED screen.
A giant whale shark swam, tail gently swaying, in the deep blue water, looking as if it would leap out of the screen any second.
Jiang Chilou was momentarily stunned. She stared at the end screen displaying “Yongning Ocean Kingdom Welcomes Your Visit” and couldn’t help but turn to ask Gu Wan: “Where is the Yongning Ocean Kingdom?”
Gu Wan glanced at her: “You don’t know?”
Jiang Chilou was puzzled: “Should I know?”
Gu Wan chuckled: “Yongning Ocean Kingdom is one of Ning City’s most famous attractions. Every holiday, many people come to Ning City specifically to visit it.”
“I didn’t expect you not to know.”
“Uh…” Jiang Chilou’s expression froze for two seconds. She searched through the memories in her mind but couldn’t find a single memory of Yongning Ocean Kingdom. She fell silent. It seemed she hadn’t inherited 100% of the original owner’s memories.
Understanding the reason, Jiang Chilou felt no guilt. She simply smiled: “Maybe it’s because I hit my head before, and I rarely pay attention to these things anyway, so I couldn’t recall it immediately.”
With that, she pointed to the whale shark promotional video, which was playing for the second time: “I want to go see that.”
“Can you come with me?”
The curve on Gu Wan’s lips deepened. She looked at Jiang Chilou for a while and smiled in response: “Okay.”
Yongning Ocean Kingdom.
Although it was late October, Ning City’s weather was still unusually hot. Jiang Chilou held an umbrella, shielding both herself and Gu Wan. Looking at the slightly crowded people coming and going, she couldn’t help but carefully observe Gu Wan’s expression.
Seeing that her expression was normal, she was slightly relieved.
After all… she was the one who suggested coming. If Gu Wan were annoyed by the crowded environment, she would have to turn back, lest both of them become unhappy later.
Noticing that the person beside her kept glancing at herself, Gu Wan turned to face her: “What is it?”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Nothing.”
“It’s just that there are more people here than I expected, and I was worried you wouldn’t like it and would become unhappy.”
With that, she looked up at Gu Wan, her eyes sparkling: “Are you unhappy?”
Looking into such eyes, it was difficult for Gu Wan to say she was unhappy.
She slowly shook her head: “No.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou’s eyes curved slightly. She handed the umbrella she was holding to Gu Wan, and smiled: “I’ll go buy tickets in front. Wait for me.”
She said and left quickly.
Gu Wan looked at her retreating figure, unconsciously tightening her grip on the umbrella handle. The residual warmth on the handle slowly permeated her palm.
It was somewhat scorching.
There weren’t many people buying tickets on site, so Jiang Chilou quickly got two tickets.
She returned with the tickets, handed one to Gu Wan, and was about to take the umbrella back, but her hand grasped air.
Jiang Chilou froze. She looked at Gu Wan, who was holding the umbrella, and heard her slowly state:
“I’ll carry it.”
“Alright.” Jiang Chilou smiled, not arguing about it.
The umbrella wasn’t large, and coupled with the surrounding crowd, Jiang Chilou stayed very close to Gu Wan.
Their arms occasionally brushed, their warmth intertwining.
Jiang Chilou unfolded the map of the Ocean Kingdom she had received when buying the tickets and asked Gu Wan: “Which exhibit do you want to visit first?”
Gu Wan glanced at the various exhibits marked on the map, her gaze settling on one spot: “The Whale Shark Hall.”
“Didn’t you want to see the whale shark? It’s not far from our current location, so we can go there first.”
Jiang Chilou looked at the map, briefly comparing the location of the Whale Shark Hall, and realized Gu Wan was right. She smiled: “Okay, then let’s go to the Whale Shark Hall first.”
In the Whale Shark Hall, the moment Jiang Chilou stepped inside, she was unconsciously captivated by the scene before her.
Behind the massive acrylic viewing wall, several enormous whale sharks gently swayed their tail fins, slowly swimming in the water. Several hammerhead sharks, guitarfish, and Arabian angelfish swam beneath the whale sharks.
In the dim environment, only the marine creatures behind this viewing wall were clearly visible. A single glance made one feel as if they were deep underwater.
“Lulu,” Sensing that the person beside her had stopped, Gu Wan spoke out.
Hearing someone call her name, Jiang Chilou slowly came back to reality.
She looked at Gu Wan, her eyes full of joy and excitement: “Gu Wan, let’s go closer to that wall.”
“I want to take pictures there.” As she spoke, Jiang Chilou had already taken Gu Wan’s hand and rushed toward the massive wall.
Gu Wan stared at her held wrist, her eyes slightly raised, and silently followed her forward.
Below the wall, Jiang Chilou took many pictures of the whale sharks. Just as she was about to ask Gu Wan to take a picture of her, her gaze shifted, noticing many people around were taking photos together, causing her to pause briefly.
After a few seconds, she looked up at the person beside her, a sweet smile playing on her lips: “Gu Wan, how about we take a picture together?”
Gu Wan was surprised by the suggestion. Before she could react, she felt a presence on her arm.
Jiang Chilou linked her arm with Gu Wan’s, guiding her to adjust the camera’s angle. Because the phone camera’s viewfinder was limited and Jiang Chilou wanted to capture the background scenery, she positioned herself extremely close to Gu Wan.
So close that her entire body was practically leaning into Gu Wan’s arms.
Jiang Chilou slightly tilted her head, rested her head on Gu Wan’s shoulder, and held her thumb and index finger apart below her chin, making a peace sign.
She held the pose, and seeing the stunned expression on Gu Wan in the camera with no pose or expression, she urged: “Smile a bit.”
Gu Wan recovered, looking at herself and Jiang Chilou in the camera. Her lips slightly pursed, then gradually curved into an unnatural arc.
She rarely took pictures, and… she didn’t really like being photographed.
But now… her peripheral vision briefly glanced at the person beside her. It wouldn’t hurt to take one with her.
Jiang Chilou stared at the unnatural arc on Gu Wan’s lips. Her thumb hesitated to press the shutter button.
The reason was simple: she felt that Gu Wan’s smile looked barely like a smile, and the awkward curve of her lips wasn’t even as nice as her not smiling at all.
Thinking of this, Jiang Chilou couldn’t help but turn to Gu Wan beside her. She pinched her own cheeks, puffing out a funny pouting expression.
“Look at me. Does this make you smile?”
“Hmm?”
Gu Wan paused slightly. She looked at Jiang Chilou’s lively expression, and her lips couldn’t help but curve into a natural, genuine smile.
Seeing this, Jiang Chilou’s eyes lit up.
She quickly turned her head, leaned against Gu Wan, and pressed the shutter button in a position slightly better than before.
In that instant, their first shared photo was officially taken.
Having successfully taken the picture, Jiang Chilou’s lips curved slightly. Leaning against Gu Wan, she looked up and smiled: “Let’s look at the photo together.”
Gu Wan softly hummed.
Jiang Chilou heard the sound and lowered her head, just about to tap the screen to view the photo, when a Weibo notification suddenly popped up in the notification bar.
Author Luo Qing: “See you at the signing event in Xicheng Wanggu City on Monday [Image 1][Image 2].”
Signing event?
Jiang Chilou unconsciously tapped on the Weibo post and saw that one of the two images was the physical copy of A Classic Ancient Fantasy Cultivation Novel that she had recently finished, and the other showed the location and time of the signing event.
She had followed this author after finishing that classic ancient fantasy cultivation novel two days ago. She hadn’t expected to see a post today announcing a signing event.
Gu Wan’s eyebrows slightly knitted. She watched the person who was supposed to be looking at the photo tap on Weibo, then stare at the post for a long time without moving, seemingly lost in thought. She asked in a low voice: “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Chilou heard her and handed the Weibo page on her phone to Gu Wan, smiling: “I want to go to this signing event.”
Gu Wan looked at the Weibo post, her eyes slightly darkening: “You are not allowed to go.”
Xicheng was very far from Ning City.
It was impossible to travel back and forth in one day. If Jiang Chilou were to go, she would definitely have to stay overnight there.
“Huh?” Jiang Chilou was stunned. “Why?”
Gu Wan lowered her gaze: “She will come to Ning City later.”
“You don’t need to go.”
Jiang Chilou was confused: “How do you know she’ll come to Ning City?”
“I didn’t see anything about it on her Weibo. She only mentioned Xicheng.”
Gu Wan chuckled, looking at Jiang Chilou, and said word for word: “I will have it arranged.”
“Then, I will go with you.”
Jiang Chilou was slightly bewildered.
Gu Wan’s eyes, however, were like dark ink, calm and unmoving, slowly locking onto the person in front of her: “Jiang Chilou, you should be looking at the photo now.”
Not at this irrelevant thing.
