The Crazy Villain Wants Me to Love Her - Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Sleeping in the Same Bed
Gu Wan offered a half-smile, her eyelashes lowered extremely close.
“Naturally.”
Jiang Chilou blinked: “Then can I sleep on the inner side? I prefer to sleep closer to the window.”
Gu Wan didn’t mind which side: “Of course.”
Jiang Chilou smiled brightly: “Then I’ll get into bed first.”
“Mm.”
After getting into bed, Jiang Chilou stretched out her arms and surveyed the space. This bed could probably sleep four or five people. Even if she and Gu Wan shared it, as long as they didn’t crowd the center, there would be plenty of distance between them.
She turned over, resting her head on her hand, and faced Gu Wan, about to ask when she would be ready.
At that moment, Gu Wan happened to turn around.
The moment their eyes suddenly met, Gu Wan’s eyelashes subtly trembled.
Jiang Chilou’s cherry lips parted slightly: “Are you going to bed?”
As she spoke, her other hand patted the very close spot beside her, as if inviting Gu Wan to sleep there.
She leaned on her hand, lying sideways and patting the bed. Her thin nightgown barely concealed her shapely curves, her stunning figure faintly discernible.
Gu Wan lowered her eyes: “Wait a little longer.”
With that, she walked to a table at the foot of the bed and picked up a cyan ceramic object.
Jiang Chilou sat up and watched. It looked like a small censer, and she wondered what it was used for.
Just as she was guessing, she saw Gu Wan lift the hollowed lid off the top of the cyan ceramic.
Gu Wan’s voice was flat, and her eyes calmly looked at Jiang Chilou: “I habitually burn incense before sleep. Do you mind?”
“I don’t mind.”
“But, what kind of incense will you burn?” Jiang Chilou asked curiously.
“Agarwood.”
“Oh, that’s great. I like that scent too.”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Go ahead and light it.”
“Mm.”
Gu Wan skillfully and methodically placed some crushed spices inside the censer, closed the lid, and slowly adjusted the temperature.
Watching Gu Wan light the incense, Jiang Chilou realized it was then that Gu Wan’s agarwood bracelet was already taken off.
She probably took it off when she showered.
Speaking of which, Gu Wan seemed to really like agarwood, but looking at her expression, she didn’t seem to…
After lighting the incense, Gu Wan turned around and saw Jiang Chilou staring at her. She couldn’t help but ask, puzzled: “What is it?”
Jiang Chilou snapped back: “Nothing, nothing at all.”
“Are you going to sleep now?”
“Yes.” Gu Wan walked back to the bedside, her finger hovering over the light switch. She looked down at Jiang Chilou: “Shall I turn off the lights?”
“Go ahead.” Jiang Chilou quickly lay down and pulled the blanket up to cover her navel.
Gu Wan looked down at Jiang Chilou, who was lying obediently, her eyes flickering slightly.
Clack. With a gentle press of her finger, the brightly lit bedroom instantly plunged into darkness.
Amidst soft rustling sounds, the bedding beside Jiang Chilou sank, and she clearly felt a person added to the bed.
Gu Wan’s breath brushed past her nose. Jiang Chilou instinctively reached out in the direction of the breath, but… she didn’t touch anyone.
Pfft. For some reason, Jiang Chilou found herself wanting to laugh.
Maybe it was because the bed was too big.
She suppressed the upward curl of her lips, slowly withdrew her hand, and lay flat. Thinking about how the next day would be their first day of marriage, she couldn’t help but turn to ask Gu Wan: “Do we have anything busy planned for tomorrow?”
If not, she wanted to sleep in. After all, she was nearly exhausted today and wanted a good sleep to recover her energy.
Gu Wan closed her eyes: “No more plans.”
“However, people from the Gu family will bring a housekeeper and some maids over tomorrow. You can take a look.” Gu Wan paused before continuing: “I’ll rest at home tomorrow, but I have to go back to the company the day after.
“Also, the company has a busy project recently, so I might not have time to go on a honeymoon with you.”
Honeymoon?
Jiang Chilou hadn’t thought about it at all. Besides, given the current state of their relationship, a honeymoon wouldn’t be very meaningful. She’d rather just entertain herself.
Although she didn’t care, Jiang Chilou still put on a thoughtful demeanor: “It’s fine, work is important. You focus on work first, and when you have time later, we can make up for it.”
“Right?” At the end, Jiang Chilou’s voice unconsciously rose slightly, soft and gentle, like she was coaxing someone.
Gu Wan’s closed eyes trembled slightly. After a long moment, she replied: “Yes.”
After she spoke, Gu Wan vaguely heard Jiang Chilou’s laughter, very light and subtle.
Jiang Chilou’s lips curved slightly. She thought for a moment: “Since you’re home tomorrow, why don’t you introduce me to the family’s housekeeper?”
That way, it would be easier for her to find someone to help her with things later.
Gu Wan agreed: “Alright.”
“Oh, right, since there’s so little going on tomorrow, we don’t have to wake up early, do we?” Jiang Chilou finally asked the question she cared about most.
Gu Wan said slowly: “No need to wake up early.”
“You can sleep until you wake up naturally.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou immediately curved her eyes: “Good.”
“Then let’s go to sleep early.”
Her expression was relaxed and her mood was excellent: “Gu Wan, good night.”
Jiang Chilou finished speaking, turned her head, placed her hands on her stomach, and adjusted into a comfortable position. She closed her eyes to invite sleep.
In the darkness, Gu Wan’s slightly closed eyes slowly opened: “Good night.”
“Mm,” Jiang Chilou mumbled in response, and within a few minutes, she slowly drifted off into dreamland.
Listening to the gradually evening breath beside her, Gu Wan’s gaze subtly shifted, falling into the completely dark space next to her. She looked lost in thought, her eyes growing increasingly deep.
A moment later, she withdrew her gaze, inhaling the sleep-inducing fragrance in the room, and slowly closed her eyes once more.
The next day.
Jiang Chilou woke up just past eight due to her biological clock.
She sighed and rubbed her forehead, put down her phone, and looked around, only to discover that Gu Wan was no longer in the room.
She must have gotten up extremely early.
Jiang Chilou withdrew her gaze, closed her eyes, and continued to lie in bed.
Ten minutes later, unable to sleep, she reluctantly climbed out of bed.
Jiang Chilou consoled herself as she got ready: I’ll just take a nap this afternoon.
Fifteen minutes later, she finished washing up and went downstairs, finally finding Gu Wan in the ground-floor dining room.
Jiang Chilou walked over and initiated a greeting: “Morning, Gu Wan.”
Gu Wan looked up: “Morning.”
Jiang Chilou noticed Gu Wan’s half-empty coffee cup, slightly surprised: “Did you finish breakfast?”
“Just finished.”
“Why did you wake up so early today?” Gu Wan raised an eyebrow. Didn’t this person plan to sleep in late last night?
Waking up this early was unexpected.
Jiang Chilou rubbed her nose: “It’s my biological clock; I’m used to waking up around this time.”
Gu Wan nodded. After Jiang Chilou sat down, she pushed a thick book on the table toward her.
“See what you’d like to eat.”
“What is this?” Jiang Chilou curiously opened the book. Instantly, many dish names accompanied by pictures filled her sight.
Jiang Chilou: …Good heavens, it’s a menu! It was divided into Chinese and Western, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and various snacks.
No wonder it’s so thick!
She flipped through a few pages, and as her eyes began to glaze over, she heard Gu Wan say: “If there’s nothing you want to eat on here or if you don’t feel like looking, you can also tell Madam Zhou directly what you’d like, and she’ll make it for you.”
Jiang Chilou was a bit stunned: “Oh, okay.”
The moment she finished speaking, Gu Wan raised her hand and beckoned Madam Zhou over.
“This is Madam Zhou. If you want anything to eat in the future, you can tell her directly.”
Jiang Chilou looked up and saw a plain, honest-looking middle-aged woman.
Madam Zhou gave a simple smile: “Good morning, Madam. May I ask what you’d like for breakfast today?”
Jiang Chilou thought for a few seconds: “Just a ham and egg sandwich and a cup of milk, please. Thank you.”
“Of course, you’re welcome.” Madam Zhou finished speaking and immediately turned to walk toward the kitchen.
“Is she our housekeeper?” Jiang Chilou pointed to Madam Zhou’s back.
“No, she’s in charge of the kitchen.”
“Butler Lin is the housekeeper. You’ll meet her in a moment.” Gu Wan said, picking up her phone and sending a message.
A moment later, footsteps approached from the direction of the living room.
Jiang Chilou curiously turned to look and quickly saw a woman with a round, amiable face.
“She is Butler Lin. If you need anything at home in the future, you can ask her for help.”
Butler Lin walked into the dining room and stood at a reasonable distance, convenient for Jiang Chilou to see her and for herself to get acquainted with the other lady of the house.
“Good morning, CEO Gu. Good morning, Madam.”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “Good morning.”
Gu Wan nodded, and after seeing Jiang Chilou recognize the person, she waved for Butler Lin to go back to her duties.
It was then that Jiang Chilou’s breakfast was brought out from the kitchen.
After eating breakfast, Jiang Chilou looked at Gu Wan, who was still sitting opposite her, and couldn’t help but ask: “What are your plans for today?”
Gu Wan glanced at Jiang Chilou’s forehead: “I’ve made an appointment with Doctor Song to come over at ten o’clock to change your dressing and check on your recovery.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou’s eyes widened in surprise. After realizing what she said, she couldn’t help but smile, her eyes sparkling: “Thank you.”
“Gu Wan, you’re so thoughtful.”
Gu Wan’s eyelashes fluttered as she asked Jiang Chilou: “What about you?”
“Me,” Jiang Chilou pondered for a moment: “I want to go check on the coffee shop I opened before.” The original owner had opened a coffee shop, but business wasn’t very good, and she wanted to check the situation.
She had been busy preparing for the wedding for the past two days and hadn’t had time to go. Now that the wedding was over, she had plenty of time.
Gu Wan finished the last sip of her coffee and said: “Do you need me to go with you?”
Jiang Chilou blinked, and words of refusal left her pink lips: “No need. You should rest well at home; you have to go to work tomorrow.”
Gu Wan laughed softly, staring at Jiang Chilou: “You can ask Butler Lin to arrange a driver for you when you go out.”
“Of course, you can also choose to drive yourself. The keys to the cars in the garage are mostly with Butler Lin. You can just ask her for the key to whichever one you want to drive.”
Jiang Chilou’s expression remained unchanged, a smile hanging on her lips: “Alright, thanks for the heads-up.”
At ten o’clock, Doctor Song arrived at the villa on time.
In the living room, Jiang Chilou sat obediently on the central sofa, allowing Doctor Song to change her dressing.
As for Gu Wan, she sat on the side, quietly observing the entire process of Jiang Chilou’s dressing change.
After the change, Doctor Song took off her gloves and spoke warmly to Jiang Chilou: “Your wound is healing well. You won’t need another dressing change after this one. I will come back in three days to remove the gauze.”
Jiang Chilou: “Okay, thank you, Doctor Song.”
Doctor Song smiled: “You’re welcome.”
With that, she turned to Gu Wan: “CEO Gu, the medicine is changed. I’ll be leaving now?”
Gu Wan: “Alright, thank you for your trouble today.”
“I’ll see you out.”
“That’s fine.”
After Gu Wan saw Doctor Song out, Jiang Chilou looked at the fruit plate that had just been set out on the table and couldn’t help but pick up a few grapes.
However, after eating two, she wiped her hands clean, pulled out her phone, opened her novel app, and after finding a novel that looked decent, immediately switched on the auto-read feature.
She placed her phone on the stand on the table, then picked up the grapes again and slowly peeled them.
Gu Wan returned after seeing the guest out and saw Jiang Chilou eating grapes while reading on her phone, her posture utterly leisurely.
She walked over and unintentionally glanced at Jiang Chilou’s phone screen, her eyebrows rising slightly: “You read novels?”
Hearing Gu Wan’s voice so suddenly, Jiang Chilou was startled, nearly dropping the peeled grape in her hand.
She collected herself, pushed the phone and stand away so Gu Wan couldn’t see the screen.
“Occasionally.” Jiang Chilou looked up and smiled, looking well-behaved as she said: “Want some grapes? I’ll peel them for you.”
Gu Wan’s gaze lowered, falling onto the grape in her fingertips.
The translucent, plump flesh seemed to be bursting with juice, so much so that a few drops were subtly trickling down her fingers.
Gu Wan lowered her eyes and sat down. She reached into the fruit bowl and took a grape herself: “I can do it myself.”
“Ah…” Jiang Chilou watched Gu Wan’s movement, then couldn’t help but look down at the grape in her own hand. She frowned slightly; this one does look a bit messy, doesn’t it?
Thinking this, Jiang Chilou quickly popped the grape into her own mouth.
Then, she pulled out two wet wipes and thoroughly cleaned her hands.
Then, before Gu Wan could start peeling the grape, she very naturally took the grape from Gu Wan’s hand, smiled, and winked: “Let me peel it for you, to avoid messing up your hand.”
“Consider it thanks for getting the doctor for me.”
Jiang Chilou smiled, her eyes curved, her whole body radiating vitality.
Gu Wan gazed at her, her eyes shifting for a few seconds. Finally, she lowered her eyes halfway: “Then I’ll trouble Lulu.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chilou quickly lowered her head and began peeling the grape skin. Her movements were fast; she peeled off most of the skin in just a few strokes, leaving only a small piece still attached to the flesh.
She carefully braced that small piece of skin, holding the peeled grape flesh out to Gu Wan’s lips.
“Here~” Jiang Chilou’s pink lips slightly parted, signaling Gu Wan to open her mouth.
The slightly cool grape flesh pressed against her lips, and Gu Wan instinctively paused. She looked up at Jiang Chilou, her gaze unconsciously settling on the other woman’s lips.
Jiang Chilou’s lips were stained with some purple grape juice, on the verge of dripping, yet she seemed completely unaware, focused only on pressing the grape to Gu Wan’s lips, attempting to feed her.
Feeling the soft, yielding touch on her lips, Gu Wan’s eyes lowered slightly. She slowly opened her mouth, and the translucent fruit instantly squeezed into her mouth, carrying a hint of warmth.
As soon as the fruit was in her mouth, the warmth immediately retreated.
Gu Wan lowered her gaze and pursed her lips. Her tongue rolled the flesh, and her teeth gently crushed it. Juice instantly burst forth, flowing down her throat.
Even the tiny fragments of the fruit were swallowed completely.
Finally, just as her tongue was about to push out the grape seed, a clean white napkin was suddenly handed over, bracing against her chin.
Jiang Chilou’s eyes curved: “Spit it out here.”
Gu Wan paused for two seconds, then obediently spit the grape seed onto the napkin in her palm.
Jiang Chilou rolled up the napkin and very naturally used the clean edge to wipe the corner of Gu Wan’s lip.
Feeling the softness brush against her lip, Gu Wan’s expression paused.
“Was it sweet?” Jiang Chilou asked with a radiant smile. As her lips opened and closed, the grape juice that had been about to drip earlier was unintentionally licked into her mouth.
