The Crazy Villain Wants Me to Love Her - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: First Day of Marriage
Gu Wan’s gaze subtly slid off her lips. Looking up, her thin lips slowly uttered two words: “It’s alright.”
Jiang Chilou tsk-ed and asked her: “Are you having any more?”
Gu Wan: “No more.”
“Okay, then I won’t either.” Jiang Chilou habitually took a tissue to wipe her hands. After wiping, she said: “I’m going to the kitchen to wash my hands.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she sprung up from the sofa and scurried towards the kitchen.
She was quick to go and quick to return, only this time, she came back with two extra items in her hands.
Gu Wan stared at the two bags of snacks she was carrying, her brow twitching slightly: “Didn’t you say you weren’t eating anymore?”
Jiang Chilou blinked innocently: “Yes, I’m not eating grapes anymore.”
“I just happened to see a snack shelf in the kitchen while washing my hands, and I couldn’t resist picking up a small bag of potato chips and a bag of preserved plums.”
She sat back down next to Gu Wan with a grin, holding up the snacks: “Want some?”
“These are cucumber-flavored chips, quite tasty.”
“No need.” Gu Wan declined her snack invitation and stood up: “What do you want for lunch? I’ll have Madam Zhou prepare it in advance.”
“Hmm~” Jiang Chilou thought for two seconds: “Something light is fine. Anything without celery, that’s all.”
Gu Wan: “You don’t eat celery?”
Jiang Chilou vigorously nodded: “Yes, I don’t want to eat even a bite.”
She genuinely couldn’t stomach celery.
“Alright, noted.” Gu Wan agreed and turned to leave.
Jiang Chilou watched her retreating back. Only when the figure completely disappeared did she smile, tear open the chip bag, curve her lips, and pick up her phone.
Finally, I can continue reading my novel. She was just about to get to the “spicy” part when Gu Wan arrived, which made it hard to concentrate.
In the kitchen, Gu Wan turned on the faucet, cupped some clear water, and covered her lips with it, her slender white fingers slowly rubbing her lips under the stream. Recalling the gentle touch she had accidentally experienced, her pupils gradually deepened.
At lunchtime.
The moment Jiang Chilou arrived at the dining room, she was drawn by the colorful and fragrant dishes on the table, letting out an involuntary “Wow.”
“Steamed hairy crabs, steamed turbot fish, tomato tofu soup, they all look so delicious.”
Gu Wan sat down: “Sit and eat.”
“Immediately, immediately.” Jiang Chilou smiled and sat down across from Gu Wan.
She scooped a bowl of rice from the rice cooker nearby. Seeing that Gu Wan’s bowl was empty, she picked up her bowl as well and served her some rice.
Receiving a bowl of rice already served, Gu Wan couldn’t help but be slightly surprised. She pursed her lips: “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Jiang Chilou sat properly. Seeing that Gu Wan hadn’t started eating yet, she asked: “Shall I begin?”
Gu Wan: “Mm.”
Receiving permission, Jiang Chilou first picked up a hairy crab and placed it on her plate. She then took the nearby scissors to cut off the legs, pry open the abdominal lid, and then open the shell to remove the crab stomach, intestines, heart, and gills inside.
It took her no more than a minute to clean it.
Jiang Chilou picked up the shelled crab. Looking up, she saw the person opposite her quietly eating fish, having not yet started on the crab.
She glanced at the perfectly prepared crab in her hand, hesitated for two seconds, then leaned over and placed the prepared crab onto Gu Wan’s plate.
She looked up, smiling brightly: “The first crab goes to you.”
“I’ve cleaned it all up. You can eat it directly.”
Gu Wan fixed her gaze on Jiang Chilou, her hand holding the chopsticks unconsciously tightening.
She smiled faintly: “Thank you, Lulu.”
“However, I don’t feel like eating crab right now. You eat it first, so it doesn’t get cold and lose its flavor later.”
With that, Gu Wan pushed the plate containing the crab back toward Jiang Chilou.
“Ah, alright.” Jiang Chilou paused, then picked up the crab with a smile: “Then I’ll eat it first.”
“Good.”
The two then ate their respective meals, speaking very little.
When the relatively harmonious lunch was over, Jiang Chilou took a tour of the garage herself, and then immediately went to Butler Lin to get a car key.
At two in the afternoon, Jiang Chilou arrived at the coffee shop the original owner had opened in the city center shopping district.
She paused at the entrance, glancing inside.
The coffee shop had a large space and minimalist decor. From the outside, it looked quite nice, but there were only a handful of customers inside.
Jiang Chilou stepped into the shop.
As soon as she entered, she noticed that all the lighting in the shop was top-down lighting.
Jiang Chilou silently noted that top lighting was a disaster for people who loved taking photos and checking in.
However, the lighting issue was minor.
She looked around but didn’t see the manager who had previously been in charge of the original owner’s shop, though she wasn’t planning on keeping them anyway.
Jiang Chilou walked up to the counter, glanced at the drink menu, and placed her order: “Hello, I’d like a large, iced Oat Milk Latte with lightly roasted espresso, please. Thank you.”
“Of course, please wait a moment.” The staff member quickly placed the order and pointed to the QR code area: “Hello, the Oat Milk Latte is 39 yuan. Please scan here to pay.”
Jiang Chilou opened her payment code, paid the money, and turned to find an empty seat.
Soon, her Oat Milk Latte was brought over.
Jiang Chilou frowned, staring at the latte art in the cup that just barely made the pass mark.
She picked up the cup and took a small sip of the latte, and her frown deepened.
She had asked for light roast, but the taste… was excessively bitter. It was, frankly, terribly made.
Given the number of bubble tea shops and coffee shops around, a drink like this was completely uncompetitive.
Now, she finally understood why the shop’s business was so poor.
Jiang Chilou put down the cup. She took out her phone, found the coffee shop manager in WeChat, and typed a line of text.
“Where are you?”
The message was sent and quickly received a reply.
“Boss, I’m sorry, I’m off today because of a personal matter and didn’t go to the shop. Is there anything you need?”
Jiang Chilou: “I’m closing the shop for renovation in one month. Please inform the other staff members about this in the next few days.”
“This renovation is estimated to take two to three months. From now on, if anyone wants to resign, I will give them compensation according to the contract. If they choose not to resign, I will only pay them basic salary during the renovation period.”
“Additionally, those who stay must undergo retraining before the reopening…”
After sending these messages, the person on the other end was likely reading them slowly, as the reply took a long time.
“Understood.”
Jiang Chilou turned off her phone screen, stood up, and left.
In the mall supermarket across from the coffee shop, Jiang Chilou looked at the various breads and pastries in the bakery section and couldn’t move.
She wanted to grab almost every item she saw. Unfortunately, the shelf life was too short, and she didn’t have a large appetite. However… if Gu Wan ate too, perhaps she could buy a little more?
Thinking this, Jiang Chilou took out her phone and opened WeChat. She scrolled through her list of recent contacts but couldn’t find Gu Wan.
She didn’t worry about it and went straight to the search bar to search for Gu Wan’s name, but unexpectedly, she couldn’t find it at all.
Seeing the blank page, Jiang Chilou was startled.
A few seconds later, she tried searching the keywords “Gu, Wan,” but still found nothing.
Jiang Chilou: …
No way? She actually doesn’t have Gu Wan’s WeChat!!!
Jiang Chilou, unconvinced, went through her entire WeChat contacts list from beginning to end, but found no trace of Gu Wan’s WeChat, not even a suspicious-looking profile.
Shocked, she decided to send a message to Jiang Mingyan.
“Mom, do you have Gu Wan’s WeChat? Please share her contact card with me.”
Jiang Chilou waited two or three minutes for the message to be sent before receiving a reply.
“What?! The first time we met Gu Wan, didn’t I give you two time alone? How did you not exchange contact information?”
“Besides, you’re married now, how could…” Jiang Mingyan was clearly very surprised.
However, despite her surprise, she quickly sent a WeChat contact card.
Jiang Chilou clicked on it, looking at the formal profile: “Gu Group—Gu Wan”. Her finger hovered over the [Add to Contacts] button, unable to press it.
So, this WeChat account is a work account.
She suddenly didn’t want to add it.
Jiang Chilou exited Gu Wan’s contact card page and then had time to read her mother’s previous messages.
The first time they met?
The original owner’s first meeting with Gu Wan was arranged by Madam Jiang.
It was essentially a matchmaking meeting.
After the meeting, due to the purpose of the political marriage, the engagement was finalized the next day. Since then, they hadn’t met again until she woke up in the hospital.
As for the contact information, she recalled the first meeting: as soon as Madam Jiang, who had set up the meeting, left, the original owner and Gu Wan both lowered their heads to look at their phones, having nothing to say to each other. Her lips twitched slightly.
She looked down at her phone and typed rapidly.
“Didn’t remember to add it before.” Jiang Chilou simply replied and then exited WeChat.
She put her phone away and began to wander through the bakery section.
This browsing lasted over an hour. By the time she got home, it was almost four in the afternoon.
As soon as she lifted two large shopping bags from the trunk, the sharp-eyed Butler Lin and a maid came over to take them.
Butler Lin laughed heartily: “Madam, please leave these to us.”
“Please go back and rest.”
Jiang Chilou looked at them and didn’t refuse, just smiled with curved eyes: “Then I’ll trouble you.”
The group walked into the living room. Jiang Chilou didn’t see Gu Wan and asked the person beside her: “Butler Lin, where is Gu Wan?”
“CEO Gu went up to the study on the third floor. She just went up recently.”
Jiang Chilou said “Oh,” and didn’t ask anything else, only turning her head to smile: “Butler Lin, I want to go back to my room and sleep for a bit. Can you call me when it’s time for dinner?”
“I’m afraid I might oversleep.”
“Of course, you can sleep soundly.”
As the sun began to set in the west, and the light golden rays gradually filled the courtyard, many bright lights began to illuminate the exquisite and elegant residence.
On the third floor, Butler Lin knocked on the closed study door: “CEO Gu, it’s time to come downstairs for dinner.”
“Mm.”
Gu Wan closed the document in her hand, gently rubbed her temples, and slowly stood up to leave after a few seconds.
Upon seeing Gu Wan, Butler Lin slightly lowered her head: “CEO Gu, the Madam went back to her room to rest after returning this afternoon. However, when I just went up and knocked on the master bedroom door, there was no response. I estimate the Madam is still asleep.”
“What do you think…”
“I’ll go check. You can go downstairs first.”
“Yes.” Butler Lin replied and quickly left.
In the master bedroom on the second floor.
Gu Wan walked to the bedside, her slightly parted lips pausing when she saw the serene sleeping face on the bed.
Jiang Chilou had excellent sleeping habits; she had known that since last night.
But she hadn’t expected that her sleeping posture was not only good but also very beautiful.
Like a sleeping beauty.
Her porcelain-white skin faintly glowed in the dimly lit room, and her pink lips were slightly parted, inviting temptation.
Gu Wan fixed her gaze on the sleeping person for a few seconds, her sight lingering on her pink lips before tracing upwards, finally focusing on the curled eyelashes that occasionally trembled.
Looks like she’s about to wake up.
She smiled, raising her finger to gently brush those curled eyelashes, instantly causing them to tremble incessantly.
At the same time, it woke up their owner.
The slumbering, starry eyes slowly opened. Her hazy, sleepy gaze slowly met Gu Wan’s amused look.
Jiang Chilou rubbed her eyes and mumbled: “What are you doing?”
