The Crazy Villain Wants Me to Love Her - Chapter 7
Chapter 7: Nighttime Life
Jiang Chilou’s gaze was slightly burning.
Gu Wan unconsciously shifted backward, deliberately increasing the distance between them.
She raised her hand and covered Jiang Chilou’s eyes, blocking that intense gaze: “You can go charge your phone now.”
Jiang Chilou snapped back to reality, awkwardly stepping back two paces: “Okay.”
As she backed away, Gu Wan also lowered her hand.
Both tacitly and lightly moved past the recent incident.
Jiang Chilou searched for a nearby socket. Before long, she turned and walked to a small table by the wall, silently plugging in her phone to charge.
Gu Wan remained standing, still and silent.
The spacious lounge instantly fell silent, and the atmosphere quickly turned strange.
Jiang Chilou was quiet for a moment. She glanced at the fast-charging indicator on her phone, then looked at Gu Wan, taking the initiative to break the silence: “This charger is very fast. I’ll charge for fifteen minutes, and I’ll leave once it hits about half charge.”
“That shouldn’t interrupt your rest, right?”
“It won’t.”
Gu Wan sat down against the edge of the bed. Leaning against the headboard, she glanced lightly at Jiang Chilou: “I’ll be taking a day off tomorrow.”
Jiang Chilou was surprised: “Is there something going on?”
Gu Wan nodded: “I plan to go back to the Jiang family house tomorrow morning, and then visit the Gu family old residence in the afternoon. What do you think?”
After hearing Gu Wan’s words, Jiang Chilou realized that in this world, most couples return home for a simple meal on the third day after their marriage. However, the order of which family they visit first is decided by the newlyweds themselves.
Jiang Chilou quickly caught on and suddenly said: “Do we also need to prepare gifts to take back? What should we prepare?”
“Yes. As for the gifts, I’ve already asked Butler Lin to prepare some standard tea, wine, and candy. Additionally, I’ve prepared some gifts specifically for Old Madam Jiang and Aunt Jiang.”
“I have a list here. I’ll send it to you now so you can take a look. If there are any other gifts you’d like to bring, you can discuss it with Butler Lin when we get home and have her add them.” Gu Wan finished speaking and immediately opened WeChat to send Jiang Chilou a gift list.
Jiang Chilou opened the list and looked at it for a while. The gifts listed were very detailed and comprehensive, but…
Her gaze lingered on the gift list for the Gu family. Compared to the gifts for the Jiang family, the gifts Gu Wan was bringing for the Gu family seemed excessively sparse.
Only Old Madam Gu had a gift, and apart from some tea, wine, and candy, there was nothing else.
Jiang Chilou covertly glanced at Gu Wan, but the moment she looked over, she was caught red-handed.
“What is it?” Gu Wan asked.
Jiang Chilou gave an awkward smile and slowly said: “About the Gu family…”
Upon hearing “Gu family,” Gu Wan’s expression instantly cooled: “You don’t need to worry about the Gu family.”
“Just look at the Jiang family’s list.”
“Ahem,” Jiang Chilou cleared her throat: “Alright.”
“I think this list is fine. You can arrange it as you see fit.”
She was too lazy to trouble herself. Since Gu Wan could handle the arrangements, she would just go along with her plan.
“Good.” Gu Wan replied flatly.
Jiang Chilou looked down at her phone. While she was chatting with Gu Wan, her phone had already charged to 42%.
That’s probably enough.
Thinking this, Jiang Chilou unplugged the charger and walked toward Gu Wan: “Here, the charger is back to you. I’m leaving now.”
Gu Wan took the charger and put it away. She stood up and said: “I’ll see you out.”
“Okay.” Jiang Chilou didn’t refuse. After all, she had noticed when she came up that external visitors at the Gu Group essentially needed to be escorted by internal staff or use an internal invitation code to enter. It was a bit cumbersome.
“Let’s go.” Gu Wan walked out of the lounge, consciously picking up the neatly packed food container.
The food container was lighter now that some of the food was gone.
Gu Wan’s eyes were slightly lowered, and she suddenly said: “Tell Butler Lin that she doesn’t need to send lunch to me at the company anymore.”
“Huh?” Jiang Chilou was confused: “Why the sudden change?”
“Nothing, I just feel it’s a bit too much trouble.”
“Oh.” Jiang Chilou looked at Gu Wan in surprise, not expecting this person to actually consider something troublesome.
She smiled, finding it quite amusing, and didn’t overthink it: “Understood.”
As soon as Jiang Chilou returned home, Butler Lin stepped forward to take the food container from her hands and said: “Madam, the information on those few renovation companies has been organized and is now on the coffee table in the living room. You can go take a look.”
“It’s ready so quickly!” Jiang Chilou was slightly amazed. Butler Lin’s efficiency was incredibly high.
“Not really. Since those companies are well-known to me, it didn’t take much time.”
Jiang Chilou smiled: “I see. Thank you for your hard work.”
She then remembered what Gu Wan had said and continued: “Oh, right, Butler Lin, Gu Wan asked me to tell you that you don’t need to send her lunch to the company anymore.”
“Ah,” Butler Lin was briefly stunned, but quickly responded despite her confusion: “Understood.”
Jiang Chilou walked into the living room and headed straight for the files on the coffee table.
She carefully read through them, paying special attention to the project quotes and renovation styles of the companies that had previously cooperated with the Gu family. Finally, she selected two companies that she felt were most suitable, planning to communicate with them first.
Jiang Chilou found the contact information for the heads of these two companies in the files and unhurriedly dialed their numbers…
After a long time, Jiang Chilou finally hung up the phone.
She opened WeChat, accepted the friend requests from the two managers one by one, and after scheduling times for them to visit the coffee shop for an on-site assessment, she couldn’t help but stretch.
She shrugged, drank two glasses of water, and then lay down on the sofa.
Exhausted.
Once the coffee shop matters were settled, she would fully commit to a life of leisure.
As Jiang Chilou thought this, she clicked into a match-three mobile game, intending to relax.
When Gu Wan returned from work, she had just walked into the living room when she vaguely heard several cheerful game sound effects.
The further she walked inside, the clearer the sound effects became.
“EXCELLENT”
“UNBELIEVABLE”
“AMAZING”
Gu Wan followed the continuous game sounds, and Jiang Chilou’s figure instantly came into view.
She was lying on the sofa, playing the game so intently that she didn’t even notice Gu Wan walking in.
Gu Wan watched her for a moment, then suddenly spoke: “Jiang Chilou.”
“Mm,” Jiang Chilou subconsciously responded, only then realizing it was Gu Wan’s voice.
She sat up on the sofa and turned to look at Gu Wan, smiling brightly: “You’re back.”
Jiang Chilou started making things up: “I’ve been waiting for you for ages. I was so bored I played a little game to pass the time. This game is quite fun; do you want to play? I can download it for you.”
“No need.” Gu Wan wasn’t interested in games.
She studied Jiang Chilou’s slightly messy hair and asked: “Have you been playing games here for a long time?”
Jiang Chilou blinked and smiled: “No, only about half an hour.” (It was actually an hour and a half.)
Gu Wan looked at her eyes and suddenly laughed softly.
Jiang Chilou probably didn’t know that when she was feeling guilty, her blinking frequency was always a little faster than usual.
However, her eyes were inherently beautiful, and they looked particularly lovely when she blinked with a smile.
“What are you laughing at?” Jiang Chilou was confused.
Gu Wan didn’t answer, instead asking: “Is your eyesight good?”
“It’s excellent, 5.0.” Jiang Chilou’s voice lifted at the end, clearly very satisfied with her perfect vision.
“That’s good.” Gu Wan raised an eyebrow, gazing steadily into her eyes.
“Spend less time lying down while playing on your phone. It’s easy to become near-sighted.”
Those eyes wouldn’t look as good if they became near-sighted.
Jiang Chilou “tsk”-ed and muttered discontentedly: “I know what I’m doing.”
“I won’t get near-sighted.”
The next morning.
Jiang Chilou and Gu Wan arrived at the Jiang family house early. After having tea with the Old Madam, Jiang Mingyan called her out under the guise of washing fruit.
In the kitchen, Jiang Mingyan waved away the servant who was about to wash the fruit and took over the task herself.
She looked at Jiang Chilou, who was helping beside her, and couldn’t help but ask: “How are you getting along with A-Wan now?”
Jiang Chilou nodded: “It’s alright.”
Jiang Mingyan observed her expression and recalled the extremely harmonious atmosphere between the two of them in the tea room earlier, so she believed Jiang Chilou’s words.
However… remembering Jiang Chilou’s question from last time, she asked: “Didn’t you ask me for A-Wan’s WeChat last time? How did that go? Did you add her?”
She hadn’t had time to ask about this before, so she decided to clarify it all at once today.
“Yes, I added her.” Jiang Chilou smiled: “It went quite smoothly.”
“That’s good.” Jiang Mingyan was satisfied.
She drained the water from the washed fruit and slowly started arranging it on a platter. During this time, she glanced at Jiang Chilou’s fair, clean skin and couldn’t help but drop a bombshell.
“Lulu, is your nighttime life harmonious?”
Jiang Chilou initially didn’t understand: “What nighttime life?”
She looked up. Upon meeting Madam Jiang’s hesitant expression, she suddenly realized that Madam Jiang must have been referring to “sexual life.”
Jiang Chilou: …
Her heart suddenly hammered. It took her a few seconds before she managed to say stiffly: “It’s very good.”
Although they just share a bed and chat, who’s to say that’s not good?
