The Creator's Grace (GL) - Chapter 3
“Your hands are getting cold.”
While seemingly considerately pointing out the change in her, Chi Yu shifted her right hand from a holding position to intertwining their fingers.
Her other hand supported Ran Jin’s waist, guiding her to change steps with the rhythm.
It was a natural dance posture, but Ran Jin knew Chi Yu was restraining her.
This restraint didn’t exert much force. Clearly, Chi Yu knew that Ran Jin cared deeply about the lunar orbit being blocked and wouldn’t dare to break free.
Ran Jin’s steps faltered, and she stepped squarely on Chi Yu’s foot.
Chi Yu hissed, wincing in pain, her high heel almost coming off.
“Getting angry out of embarrassment and taking it out on me already?” Chi Yu wasn’t annoyed and continued to speak to Ran Jin in a light, airy tone.
“Last night, you did all that to copy my iris, to use it to open the lunar orbit access, so you could manipulate everything?”
“I really admire you, Sister-in-law.” Chi Yu said with a smile, swaying her waist sensually to the music. “Oh, I forgot, it should be former Sister-in-law. After all, you broke up before my sister passed away. You used my sister to smoothly take control of the entire Chi Corporation, and then you broke up with her. What a brilliant plan. Now, your ambition is about to destroy this massive warship in your hands, yet you can still be so calm and composed. Your mental fortitude is truly outstanding. No wonder my sister was deceived by you for so many years. When you killed my sister, were you also this calm and cold-blooded?”
Hearing these words, Ran Jin suddenly exerted force, but Chi Yu gripped her even tighter.
“…”
Ran Jin gritted her teeth, not revealing any pain that would put her at a disadvantage, and even continued to look directly into Chi Yu’s eyes.
Chi Yu lowered her gaze, looking at the perfect face before her with a hint of sorrow, analyzing her in a murmur:
“Calm and extremely patient. You lay dormant in our Chi family for six years, all to take my sister’s life and seize everything you wanted. Wealth, power, a person’s heart… You held them in your hands and played with them at will.
“Are you happy with the result now? Your hands stained with the bl00d of the person who loved you. Can you continue to live peacefully in this world? My sister trusted you so much, loved you so much, and didn’t hesitate to entrust everything to you. And you? Is this how you repay her?”
Chi Yu’s speech quickened, and after the final accusatory question, facing Ran Jin’s still icy face, she came back to her senses.
“Yes, why should I talk to a demon? How would a demon answer human questions?” Chi Yu regained her previous relaxed and composed demeanor, as if everything was under her control.
Manager Xu and the others from the group watched from outside the dance floor, wondering, “Isn’t that… the Second Miss?”
“It really is her.”
“Why didn’t anyone say anything about her coming? And she’s dancing with President Ran…”
“They’re so close, it feels a bit intimate.”
Hearing the hushed discussions behind her, Manager Xu immediately turned around and glared at them.
“What nonsense are you talking about? Do you even know what kind of relationship they have?!”
Scolded by Sister Xu, no one dared to speak again.
Ran Jin followed Chi Yu’s steps with a heavy heart, her head lowered, looking at the hem of Chi Yu’s dress.
“You noticed, didn’t you? This is my sister’s dress.”
Chi Yu tilted her head slightly, her smooth, large wavy hair falling to one side with her movement, whispering in Ran Jin’s ear,
“The perfume is also my sister’s. I think you should have smelled it already. Do you have the feeling of my sister crawling out of her grave to dance with you? Do you feel guilty? Are you afraid?”
“You’ve decided that I killed your sister.” Ran Jin stared at her, the hand she held starting to exert force.
In the moment she was met with Ran Jin’s candid gaze, Chi Yu hesitated for a moment, but quickly retorted, “If it wasn’t you, then tell me, how exactly did my sister die? Why is it that the surveillance video only captured you? What’s the reason for your frequent interactions with that police officer surnamed Lu?
“My sister was such an optimistic person, someone who loved life so much. Wouldn’t she commit suicide? Didn’t you, who lived with her for six years, know that?”
Chi Yu withdrew her intertwined fingers and directly gripped Ran Jin’s wrist. Her other hand also exerted force, pulling her directly into her embrace.
Chi Yu’s perfume enveloped Ran Jin, and pressed against the other woman’s chest, the heartbeat was clearer than ever through flesh and bl00d.
“If you didn’t kill her, then who killed my sister?” Chi Yu asked in a voice only they could hear, “You didn’t continue to investigate my sister’s cause of death. You just let it go, letting my sister die unclearly. Who is the murderer? Can you tell me?”
Shadows flickered. Manager Xu stared intently at Ran Jin on the dance floor. After a few figures flashed by, she noticed that the two women were closer.
Second Miss is… hugging President Ran?
Manager Xu was terrified.
Although Second Miss rarely stayed in the country, as long as you were from the Chi Corporation, you recognized that face.
Not to mention the more sensitive media.
With so many people watching, what did their actions mean?
It seemed that President Chi and President Ran had indeed broken up before President Chi passed away. Logically speaking, there was nothing legally wrong with President Ran being with anyone else, even the younger sister of her former lover.
However, the media wouldn’t think that way, and the public wouldn’t be so kind.
Lu Siqing stood in a corner, her fists clenched, wishing she could rush forward and tear that little bastard apart!
But Ran Jin hadn’t spoken, seemingly talking to Chi Yu, so Lu Siqing couldn’t be too impulsive.
After all, this was a public place. If she started a scene, it would only embarrass Ran Jin.
Under Chi Yu’s questioning, Ran Jin still didn’t answer her questions. Instead, she skipped over the crucial issue of Chi Li’s death and asked in a deep voice:
“Do you know how many people will photograph you hugging me like this, and what the media will write?”
Chi Yu rubbed her slender wrist. “Let me guess why you can still be so calm. You’re probably not fighting alone. Nibbling away at the Chi Corporation bit by bit isn’t easy. One person’s strength probably isn’t enough to accomplish it. Among your mysterious and intimate partners, there must be a powerful backer you can rely on, right? Even if those backers abandon you, with your good public image, if you play the victim a little, maybe I, this Chi family member who suddenly returned and has Chi bl00d, will instead be condemned by public opinion. So, what should I do to tear off your mask?”
Seeing that her cufflink was about to be rubbed open and her wrist exposed, Ran Jin suddenly struggled.
Chi Yu was almost broken free, thinking that she did indeed care about what she had said, and smiled:
“Don’t be so rough, I don’t want to hurt you for now. I’ve prepared a grand gift for you.”
Ran Jin wasn’t interested in what grand gift she wanted to give, lowering her eyes without saying a word.
Chi Yu wasn’t worried that she would really escape. She withdrew one hand and picked up her phone, her fingers deftly swiping across the screen.
“Take a guess, how will the public view you when your true colors are revealed? And when your reputation is ruined, how much of your backing will remain?”
The music suddenly stopped. While everyone looked bewildered, a recording began to play over the venue’s speakers.
••••
“You heard about it too? I think this matter is a bit strange.”
“It’s probably because of the fight for the lunar region’s energy resources. That woman surnamed Ran…”
“That woman surnamed Ran, not to mention competitors, even for the top seat of the Chi empire, even her own sugar daddy and old flame…”
“She’s truly beautiful, and truly venomous. Her acting is top-notch… This time, her ability to secure the lunar region’s energy resources is entirely due to her superb social skills.”
The recording was very clear, covering the hearing of everyone present.
Manager Xu shouted, “Turn it off!”
Then came a sharp noise, the public announcement stopped, and the scene fell into dead silence.
But the media personnel had already silently taken out their phones and recorded the previous segment, now all pointing their lenses at Ran Jin.
The conversation between the buzz-cut man and the girl with glasses had been completely recorded by Chi Yu. She used her authority to access the hotel system and broadcast the recording for everyone to hear.
But she had edited out the parts with malicious comments about private life.
Chi Yu found it dirty, felt it would pollute the Chi family and defile her sister.
The hundreds of people in the spacious venue were all stunned, and low whispers arose.
“President Chi… was she killed by Ms. Ran? Not suicide?”
“That’s too shocking, isn’t it?”
“You really couldn’t tell… Ms. Ran looked like such an upright person.”
“You can know a person’s face but not their heart, I guess.”
“…”
Ran Jin knew that many people were secretly taking pictures of her, but she wasn’t afraid. Instead, she smiled.
“Xiao Yu.”
This was Ran Jin’s usual nickname for Chi Yu, her younger sister by several years. Suddenly using this nickname at this moment carried a hint of contempt.
“The rumors surrounding me have never been few over the years. The public is already tired of these boring scoops. If you think you can bring me down with these gossipy news, you’re too naive.”
“Oh?”
Chi Yu didn’t show any panicked failure. The hand that had just left her waist didn’t return to its old place but instead caressed Ran Jin’s chin, kneading her delicate jawline and using the momentum to lift her face.
“What if we add this?”
While Ran Jin was still pondering the actual meaning of this intimacy, she suddenly did something completely unexpected.
She kissed Ran Jin’s lips in front of everyone.
Ran Jin hadn’t anticipated Chi Yu’s actions. The hot and sweet kiss came so suddenly.
She was momentarily taken aback by Chi Yu’s control.
Chi Yu noticed that Ran Jin didn’t actually refuse, even allowing her to open her lips very easily.
Their bodies were so close that even the slightest tremor could be felt by the other.
So it was like this.
This sentence flashed through Chi Yu’s mind, and she took the opportunity to demand even more passionately.
“Chi Yu! Stop!”
Forcing herself to break free from the intoxicating feeling, Ran Jin suddenly came to her senses, leaning back and calling her name indistinctly, warning her.
“If you no longer care about the useful weapon that is the Chi Corporation, if you want the Chi family’s years of accumulation to be ruined in your hands, then by all means, break free from me.” Chi Yu stopped kissing, her glistening lips parting slightly, radiating fatal temptation. “I won’t force you.”
There was an uproar.
The sudden breakup of Chi Li and Ran Jin, the darlings of the media, had already caught people off guard, leading to much speculation.
Who would have thought that just a month after Chi Li’s death, Ran Jin would be kissing her younger sister so passionately in front of everyone?
Were they witnessing a Chi family scandal with their own eyes?
Rage flickered in Ran Jin’s eyes. She finally became angry. “Chi Yu, for the past month, you’ve been deliberately trying to confuse me, all for today? All to humiliate me in public? To ruin my reputation? Don’t you know that doing this will also tarnish your own reputation? Your name will be tied to mine, and we’ll become sinners together!”
“Sinners.”
Chi Yu wrapped her arms around Ran Jin’s waist, watching the enraged Ran Jin with a somewhat intoxicated gaze. The expressions that were usually completely invisible were now so clear, so vivid.
“As long as I can drag you to hell, as long as I can avenge my sister, what do I care about? I’m not like you, I don’t rely on reputation. Ran Jin, the Chi Corporation you stole, the life you took, I will take back with double the interest, and let you know what pain is, what despair is. I will let my sister in heaven see that you deserve the punishment for your sins.”
