The Crybaby Alpha is Actually Really Cool - Chapter 15
On Training Ground No. 1, Gao Juntian was nitpicking the combat moves the recruits learned during morning drill. Any slight mistake earned them Gao Juntian’s ‘loving punches’.
Inside the solitary confinement rooms, Wen Yuchen and Xu Lingguang were separately shut into small, dark cells. With their five senses deprived, it was easy for them to overthink things, and combined with what Cheng Shu had said, both were a bit scared by their own thoughts.
After an unknown amount of time, the room suddenly brightened. A projection screen was rolled down, and a film began to play.
Wen Yuchen and Xu Lingguang simultaneously frowned, glaring fiercely at the screen, and then their expressions gradually cracked.
The protagonists of the film were none other than the two of them. They were childhood sweethearts, as close as brothers, constantly sticking together, hooking arms and draping shoulders, and even sleeping in the same bed. They also mixed and matched their clothes and shoes.
The only difference was that on Wen Yuchen’s side, the film showed him taking extra care of Xu Lingguang. Even when both liked the same Omega, he gave up his chance for his brother, and in the end, he died to save Xu Lingguang.
On Xu Lingguang’s side, it was the exact opposite. He was the one who would go through fire and water for his brother, the foolish guy who would listen to his brother and his beloved Omega from the next room and drink alone in sorrow.
Wen Yuchen & Xu Lingguang: Gag—
It is said that the sounds of vomiting from the two dark cells were continuous, and the projection screens were attacked thousands of times.
This was truly ‘shrimp heart’ (a pun on ‘cruel’).
Wen Yuchen and Xu Lingguang were released during dinner time. Having not eaten all day and after continuous vomiting, they were struggling to walk, clinging to the wall.
The kind-hearted instructors specially moved the two of them together and forcefully linked their arms. Their other two arms were also fixed to prevent them from hitting each other. Nie Wan enthusiastically provided the tape for this connection and fixation.
“Good brothers must support each other!” an instructor patted their shoulders, advising them earnestly—it would have been better if the schadenfreude in his tone could have been toned down.
Ruan Qingyao was worried about them. As soon as the afternoon class ended, he pulled Cheng Shu and the other two towards the solitary confinement area. Thinking of what Cheng Shu had said—that the punishment in solitary confinement was equivalent to an in-depth communication with over a hundred Gao Juntians—Ruan Qingyao’s heart sank.
He wondered if the two of them would even look human when they came out.
“We must let Yuchen and Lingguang feel the warmth of our dormitory family and comfort their wounded bodies and minds.”
Xiong Yan and You Xiaoxi nodded, thinking that Qingyao was just too kind; those two deserved what they got.
The four of them were fast and quickly arrived at the scene. Wen Yuchen and Xu Lingguang were busy headbutting each other, a unique move. Their legs were also trying to kick and strike, but the effectiveness was not satisfactory due to their fixed posture.
Xiong Yan scratched his head: “I feel like they don’t need our warmth.”
You Xiaoxi nodded: “They’re very energetic.”
Cheng Shu took out his thermos cup and sipped his tea. The misty white vapor blurred his face, revealing a faint sense of speechlessness.
Ruan Qingyao only felt his head grow large. Couldn’t these two just get along for a moment?
He tried to separate them and, seeing the tape, called out to Cheng Shu: “Cheng Cheng, is this Nie Wan’s tape again?”
Cheng Shu “Mm”ed and walked over to separate the two. The moment they were free, they instantly jumped three feet away, unwilling to even look at each other.
Ruan Qingyao looked left and right, thinking this wasn’t so bad. The way they both tried their best to avoid seeing each other made him very curious about what exactly had happened to them.
After dinner, Wen Yuchen pulled Ruan Qingyao away again to discuss the unfinished matter. This time, he was smarter; he didn’t speak but instead brought up a writing pad on his optical computer and wrote to Ruan Qingyao.
“Help me ask Cheng Shu how to change the form of a spiritual tool. P.S.: Don’t say it was me who asked.”
Although a needle could also be very powerful, Wen Yuchen still hoped to have a cooler spiritual tool. A long spear would be perfect.
Ruan Qingyao “Mm-hmm”ed, indicating it was okay.
He originally thought that since Wen Yuchen didn’t want Cheng Shu to know he was the one asking, he would wait a while before asking. Unexpectedly, Wen Yuchen was extremely impatient. After leaving the restroom, he immediately pushed Cheng Shu inside.
How was that any different from asking directly himself?
Ruan Qingyao adjusted his mood and asked: “Cheng Cheng, how did your thermos cup turn into a long staff?”
Cheng Shu was also silent for a moment about Wen Yuchen’s IQ. “I’m not too sure. Maybe it was a strong willpower?”
His spiritual tool was originally just a long staff. During one period of recovery from an injury, while playing chess with a retired old man, the thermos cup form appeared.
Ruan Qingyao looked thoughtful. “Thank you, Cheng Cheng.”
Cheng Shu: “Thank me for what? Next time, tell him to come and ask directly; don’t waste your time.”
Ruan Qingyao smiled shyly. For some reason, he felt an urge to be embarrassed on Wen Yuchen’s behalf.
Ruan Qingyao relayed Cheng Shu’s answer to Wen Yuchen. Since then, Wen Yuchen gained a new hobby: silently chanting “This is a spear” to his needle. For a time, he frequently suffered from styes, but his conviction would not be shaken!
Time flew by, and half a month had passed. The training missions became heavier and heavier. Nie Wan’s morning and afternoon classes offered no rest or relaxation; instead, they were even more mind-numbing.
The playful noise in the dormitory also decreased. When they returned, they only slept. Even Ruan Qingyao shortened his time for washing, grooming, and skincare by a third, which showed how tired they all were.
The strings of their body and spirit were constantly taut, feeling as if they could snap at any second.
When Gao Juntian announced during morning drill that there would be no training or classes today, and that there would be a welcoming party tonight, the field was silent for a moment, followed by a burst of high-spirited cheers.
Seeing their excitement and agitation, Gao Juntian also let out a subtle smile, truly hoping they would enjoy the party.
Returning to the dormitory, Ruan Qingyao first washed thoroughly, scrubbing his entire body until it was red. Then, he lay down on the bed to apply a face mask, while a bunny-shaped massager robot worked on his body.
Mm-hmph, mm-hmph, it felt incredibly comfortable.
The sounds he unconsciously hummed were delicate and sweet, carrying a hint of silkiness that stirred the hearts of men.
Wen Yuchen retracted his future long spear, currently a needle. Xu Lingguang’s eyes, watching a combat video, lost their focus. Xiong Yan and You Xiaoxi hadn’t turned the page of their books for a long time.
Cheng Shu walked in after washing his clothes, and his eyes were immediately drawn to a sliver of waist exposed by the hem of the clothing. It was white and smooth, yet full of power, with incredibly fluid muscle lines and shape.
His future Omega would probably be very happy, Cheng Shu suddenly thought, but before he could dwell on it, he was interrupted by the sweet, sticky sounds Ruan Qingyao made.
Looking at the other four people in the dorm, their faces were so red they were nearly steaming.
Suddenly, his mouth was pinched closed. Ruan Qingyao opened his eyes: “Woo woo woo?”
Cheng Shu let go and withdrew his hand, his lowered fingers involuntarily rubbing his fingertips. The warm, soft feeling left a trace in his heart.
“Very comfortable?” Cheng Shu asked.
“Yes,” Ruan Qingyao sat up and nodded. “The Bunny Laoshi (Teacher) is especially amazing. It combines the strengths of thousands of massage masters and can relieve fatigue and repair damage from the inside out.”
As he spoke, he pushed Cheng Shu towards his bed and placed the Bunny Laoshi on Cheng Shu. “Cheng Cheng, try it. It’s super comfortable.”
The Bunny Laoshi began its diligent work. It was indeed quite comfortable; Cheng Shu didn’t want to get up.
Seeing Cheng Shu take to it well, Ruan Qingyao began to share his skincare experience. They had been so tired recently that they hadn’t had time to deepen their relationship with Cheng Shu, so he needed to seize this day off to communicate more.
With the distracting sounds gone, Wen Yuchen, Xiong Yan, and You Xiaoxi seemed to return to normal. Only Xu Lingguang’s cheeks kept puffing out and flattening; no one knew what he was imagining, and he finally left the dorm in a huff.
Seeing Xu Lingguang leave, Wen Yuchen, for some unknown reason, also went out. Soon after, the sound of a fight could be heard.
With only Xiong Yan and You Xiaoxi remaining, the two looked at each other and felt awkward.
Xiong Yan asked, “Going to the restroom?”
You Xiaoxi replied, “Let’s go!”
The two walked out, hooking arms and matching steps.
Only Ruan Qingyao and Cheng Shu were left in the dormitory.
Cheng Shu asked, “Do you know how pleasant the sounds you just hummed were?”
The directness made Ruan Qingyao’s face flush deep red. It took him a while to gather the strength to pat his face and quietly say, “I’m sorry, I thought it was very soft.”
“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, but it’s not suitable for hot-blooded Alphas to hear.” Cheng Shu showed no sign of shyness at all. After all, he was ten years older than Ruan Qingyao and was entrusted by Ruan Sheng. He needed to remind Ruan Qingyao about things the latter didn’t notice himself.
There were no Omegas in the military tower. It was not uncommon for AA, BB, and AB pairs to comfort and relieve each other, but Ruan Qingyao was as pure as a little white rabbit and could easily be deceived.
Ruan Qingyao took another deep breath upon hearing this and quietly said, “I will pay attention in the future.”
In matters of the bedroom, an Omega’s sounds stimulate an Alpha’s emotions second only to pheromones. Therefore, in the Omega curriculum, vocal music was a mandatory course.
Who would have thought that a potential Omega would differentiate into an Alpha?
Cheng Shu “Mm”ed, as casually as if they were discussing what to eat.
Ruan Qingyao quickly adjusted. What did it mean that Cheng Cheng was discussing such an intimate topic with him? It meant their relationship had surpassed that of ordinary friends and was already in the preparatory stage for close friendship!
Thinking this, he tossed the useless feeling of shyness out of his mind and continued to chatter away.
The party started at 8:00 PM and ended at 10:30 PM. The location was the Bionic Park. The name of the location was confusing. Why would a military base on the border have a park?
Holding this question, they cautiously followed the signs inside. After walking a few hundred meters, they found that it was indeed just a park with trees, flowers, water, and basic recreational facilities.
The center of the park was a wide-open space paved with small, rough stones. The decoration was extremely simple; only a banner reading “Warmly Welcome New Recruits to the Welcoming Party” indicated that a party was indeed being held here.
The snacks, refreshments, alcoholic drinks, and beverages they dreamed of were all absent!
They had been looking forward to it for so long for nothing, thinking they could finally change the taste in their mouths, which had become bland as a bird’s.
At exactly eight o’clock, the host walked punctually to the center of the venue and shouted at the top of his lungs: “Good evening, everyone! On behalf of the entire First Military Tower, I warmly welcome you all to join our big family! We have wholeheartedly prepared this welcoming party for you, and we hope you all have a pleasant evening tonight.”
After finishing the welcome speech, the host vanished, disappearing in the blink of an eye, leaving a group of new recruits looking at each other, unsure what to do.
Wasn’t it a party? Where were the performances?
with a loud bang, an explosion startled everyone. A thick, pungent yellow smoke rose and dispersed. A creepy laughter echoed around.
“The game begins. Have fun, everyone”
