- Chapter 13 - The Real and Fake Xiao Yi
So, those baseless rumors were actually true! With such a group of “Xiao Yis” tarnishing her name, it would be a miracle if her reputation hadn’t been ruined.
Even though she hadn’t committed any of those acts, each and every incident couldn’t possibly have been fabricated out of thin air!
The heavily made-up, obese woman bristled when the strikingly beautiful girl in crimson robes across from her dared to claim she was Xiao Yi.
Was this girl utterly fearless, or what? Hearing her name, she showed no reaction whatsoever. Xiao Yi was the nation’s public enemy number one, a figure everyone avoided like the plague.
“Little girl, since you don’t know my name, I’ll let you leave! Don’t meddle in things that don’t concern you!” the obese woman warned Xiao Yi.
Xiao Yi rolled her eyes, ignoring the woman completely. She turned to the elderly man leading the group and said, “Release her, or I’ll take everything—including you lot.”
If these people died, who would be left to ruin her reputation?
“We’re working for Prince Jin,” the old man gritted his teeth.
“I know!”
“Then why aren’t you running? How dare you try to stop us?”
“Do I look scared to you?”
The old man gnashed his teeth in fury, but his own men had already been taken down by Xiao Yi. Turning to the obese woman, he barked, “Xiao Yi, drive this woman away, and I’ll split the reward money with you.”
“Really?”
“Of course. If you don’t trust me, surely you trust Prince Jin’s Manor?”
The fake Xiao Yi turned to her thugs and snapped, “Boys, get her!”
Xiao Yi’s lips twitched. She had been willing to let them off easy, but this woman clearly didn’t know when to quit.
What infuriated her even more was that she, the real female bully, had come alone, while this imposter had brought a whole gang of thugs, making quite a show of force!
The thugs stirred restlessly, as if they had never encountered someone so oblivious to social cues.
Xiao Yi cracked her knuckles. It seemed she had no choice but to teach these people a lesson. They clearly needed to be taught a lesson!
Realizing none of them possessed martial arts skills, relying only on brute force, Xiao Yi decided to handle them without using her own martial arts.
She casually picked up a tree branch, found the right angle, and charged through the crowd. All that could be heard were cries of:
“Aaaah! My butt!”
“Ouch! My leg! It hurts!”
“Awooo! My family jewels! They’re gonna be ruined! Ruined!”
“Oh, sweet mother of mine! It hurts! It hurts!”
“Aaaaaah!” Xiao Yi’s attacks were vicious and underhanded, targeting the most sensitive and vulnerable areas.
Before the group could react, Xiao Yi had already finished her assault. They clutched their injured areas, collapsing onto the ground in writhing agony.
The transporters who witnessed the scene couldn’t help but twitch their lips. Damn, that was a dirty move! Even watching it hurts!
The heavily made-up, obese woman, seeing her underlings defeated, charged forward, yelling, “Hey, woman! Do you even know how to fight? You’re supposed to announce your attack first!”
Xiao Yi chewed on a dogtail grass stalk, her mouth curling into a smirk. “Ah, Xiao Yi, right? Ever heard the saying, ‘Troublemakers die from talking too much’?”
The obese woman… “Fvck you! I’ll take you on myself!” She lunged at Xiao Yi.
Xiao Yi’s face twisted with mockery. This woman… where does she get the confidence to challenge me?
As the woman charged, Xiao Yi pressed a tree branch against her chest, pinning her against a tree. With just a single branch, the obese woman was completely immobilized!
The heavily made-up woman was genuinely terrified of Xiao Yi. She hadn’t expected Xiao Yi to be so formidable.
Xiao Yi, disgusted by the woman’s glare, kicked her to the ground. “Still want to come at me?” she demanded. “If so, hurry up!”
“No, no more!” the obese woman wailed, waving her hands frantically from the ground. Knowing she was outmatched, she regretted her earlier arrogance.
“Giving up already? You’re pathetic! You call yourself a bully? You can’t even take a hit! With such pathetic strength, I can’t understand who gave you the courage to terrorize others and kidnap young men!”
Xiao Yi had noticed the handsome young man tied up in their vehicle.
The woman’s face twisted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. “Fvck you! Who do you think you are, sticking your nose into my business? What’s it to you if I kidnap young men? Mind your own damn business!”
Xiao Yi… her resilience might be lacking, but her tongue was sharp! How dare she talk back to Xiao Yi like that?
“Well, I’m going to interfere today,” Xiao Yi said, her eyes narrowing slightly.
“Hmph! You’d better watch out! I, Xiao Yi, will definitely avenge this humiliation!”
“Oh~ When exactly do you plan to do that? After all, I’m always on the move. How will you ever find me?”
“What, are you scared? Just admit it if you are!”
Xiao Yi was speechless. Scared? She’d never even learned how to spell the word.
This woman was digging herself deeper and deeper into a death wish. “How about I give you my exact address? That way, you can come find me for revenge!”
“Fine! Tell me now!”
“I’m Xiao Yi, the nationwide female tyrant Xiao Yi!”
“Pah! You call yourself Xiao Yi? Then who am I?” The woman’s words hung in the air as realization dawned on her. “Wait… what did you just say? You’re Xiao Yi?”
“Ah, no, I’m not Xiao Yi. Are you Xiao Yi?” Xiao Yi rolled her eyes in exasperation.
The woman planted her hands on her hips, pointing at Xiao Yi. “How can you prove you’re the real Xiao Yi?”
Xiao Yi…………
She needed to prove she was herself?! What kind of nonsense was this?
“I am who I am. Why would I need to prove it?”
“There are countless people impersonating Xiao Yi across the Celestial Profound Kingdom. Who do you think you are? Not to mention the other three great nations—they have hundreds of Xiao Yis too!
How am I supposed to know which Xiao Yi you are when it comes time for revenge? With so many of us, how am I supposed to find you?”
Xiao Yi couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation. Was she really that famous? Spreading like wildfire across nations!
No wonder her reputation was so infamous, drawing curses wherever she went. With so many imposters committing atrocities in her name, it would be a miracle if her name wasn’t tarnished!
“Um, I’m not ‘one of those’ Xiao Yis. I’m from the Capital of the Celestial Profound Kingdom. Come find me if you dare!”
“You think you can fool me? If you were the real Xiao Yi, you wouldn’t be short on money, would you? Why would you resort to robbing people?”
Xiao Yi smoothed her wind-tossed hair, straightened her back, and, adopting a dignified demeanor, recited: “Gazing north, sword in hand, I stand, dedicating my life to the nation’s welfare. Recalling life’s purpose—serving with unwavering loyalty, cherishing the realm as my own home. Ten steps, one kill; a thousand miles, no trace left behind. Mission accomplished, I brush off my sleeves, concealing merit and fame!”
“Speak plainly, you damn fool! Stop spouting nonsense!”
“This old lady is here to rob the rich and aid the poor!”
“Tch, what a joke! Every time Xiao Yi does something bad, she claims it’s to rob the rich and help the poor, or to uphold justice. You act like you’re the only one who does that!”
Ugh, damn it! How did everyone get on the same page? Does this mean I can’t even prove my case?
Suddenly, Xiao Yi’s lips curled into a sinister smile as she said, “I have another way to prove it. Want to try?”
“What way?”
“Grandma, I could strip you naked, examine you thoroughly, even touch you all over. Dare you?”
“Holy sh1t! You’re a pervert!”
“When have I ever not been a pervert, Xiao Yi? If you’re willing, I wouldn’t mind sleeping with you too.”
The fat woman visibly panicked but forced herself to sound brave. “You’ve slept with so many men in the military camp! I only took one pretty boy—just one!”
She gritted her teeth, steeled her resolve, and declared, “If you want him, I’ll give you this pretty boy!”
“Do you think I’m short on men?” Xiao Yi glanced at the still-attractive youth before turning to the heavily made-up, obese woman.
As Xiao Yi approached, the woman panicked and immediately dropped to her knees. “Elder Sister, I was wrong! I was wrong! I was wrong! Please, in your magnanimity, forgive this lowly one and let me go like a fart. I truly know I was wrong!”
“Do you people really enjoy being bullies?”
“Do you really enjoy impersonating me?”
“No, no! We don’t! We don’t!”
“But you seem to be doing a pretty convincing job of impersonating me!”
“I’ve ruined my own reputation quite a bit, but I’m sure you all played a significant role in that, right?”
“Grandma, I was wrong! I’ll turn over a new leaf when I get back. Please, just let me go!”
“Let you go? You should know I’m called a bully. I never resolve problems according to conventional methods. So, none of you will escape.” With that, she pointed at the entire group.
The crowd trembled, their minds racing with a unified thought:Â What is this woman planning to do?
