- Chapter 17 - The Bizarre Campus: My Lucky Friends Are Hungry
Fu You was still immersed in trying to get a clear look at what the person sitting down was wearing and didn’t hear Ren Jiyu talking.
She looked at the clothes. She couldn’t make out the style, but she could see that they were a little tattered. Most importantly, they weren’t the Chengchun University uniform.
Compared to the Chengchun University uniform, these clothes were a little ragged.
Ren Jiyu, who had already changed and walked out, called out to her, but when she didn’t get a response, she quietly walked over, staring at Fu You’s serious expression. She also wanted to see what Fu You was looking at.
When she leaned in, she was so scared that she trembled. The phone screen showed a terrifying picture.
“A’You, what’s wrong with you? You’re looking at something so scary, and you even zoomed in!”
Fu You smiled and shook her head. She exited the forum. As if she had thought of something, she turned to Ren Jiyu and asked,
“Jiyu, didn’t someone in the class say that six or seven people have died this month? What’s going on?”
Ren Jiyu’s eyes widened. She looked at Fu You and said, “A’You, you’re really a bookworm. A huge thing like this happened at school, and you don’t even know? You’re probably the only one who doesn’t know.”
Fu You was helpless. She had no memory of this part.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have asked.
“Judging by your expression, I guess you really don’t know. It’s like this…”
At the beginning of this month, a girl posted an ad looking for a partner on the forum and included her selfie below the text.
Not long after, a guy added her as a friend and wanted to be with her.
Her roommate said at the time that the girl had dressed up and gone on a date with the guy. After all, it was their first date, so she wanted to take it seriously.
But after she left, she never came back.
When they found her, she was already dead in the lake on the west side of the school. Her chest had a large hole in it.
This was the first girl who died tragically.
The second victim was similar to the first. She had just started dating someone and died mysteriously in a small forest on the day of her date. Her scalp was torn off, and her hair was ripped out.
The next few victims were the same. They had all just started dating and died mysteriously on the day of their date. And each person died differently. Some were missing their noses, some their mouths, some their heads, and some were even missing their skin…
The most recent victims were Suo Xianglu and Wu Ledan, who died in the classroom last night. They died in the same way as the fifth victim, without a head, and they died in a classroom.
After hearing her story and thinking about the picture she had just seen, Fu You instinctively thought that the missing organs from those people were probably all stitched together.
She immediately turned on her phone again, opened the forum, and searched for ‘Likes Rain’ in the search bar. She didn’t find anything.
Then she searched for posts about “ghost spirits” but didn’t find anything either.
She even clicked on her own homepage and looked at her browsing history, but she didn’t see anything.
The post she had just seen was gone.
Did the person find out something, so they deleted the post?
Ren Jiyu looked at her and felt that something was wrong. She asked, “What’s wrong, A’You?”
“Huh? Nothing. I just suddenly thought of something.”
The lake is on the west side of the school.
This lake was said to be man-made. It was a large circle with a curved bridge in the middle and two pavilions on either side of the bridge, like the symbol for yin and yang.
Yin and Yang.
So it was named Tai Chi Lake.
This place used to be a sacred place for couples to go on dates. Although you could see everything at one glance and there weren’t many secluded spots for doing overly intimate things, the scenery was beautiful. There were also many fish in the lake that were waiting to be fed.
Couples naturally loved to come here on dates. In any case, they couldn’t do anything too intimate during the day.
But ever since someone died here, no one has come anymore, especially couples.
But someone did come.
Fu Lu stood in the middle of the bridge, looking at the chubby koi fish below the bridge. He didn’t know what he was thinking.
He was holding a letter in his hand.
He was probably conflicted about confessing. After all, if he was holding a letter, it was either a love letter he had written to someone else or a love letter someone else had written to him.
“What do you think? If I just confess directly, will I offend her? After all, she’s so outstanding, and she has so many admirers. She probably doesn’t need me.”
“Ugh, but, but, I don’t want to do that to her. I don’t want to offend her. Is that what ‘like’ means?”
“I know, I know. I promised you that I’d bring Xun Lu back to life. But why does it have to be her? I don’t want to hurt her. Can you pick someone else?”
“Really? She won’t die if you take her eyes? But the ones before…”
“Alright, I’ve been looking for you forever, and you’ve been hiding here the whole time. You’ve got a sharp mind. You go where there are fewer people, huh? It’s a good thing I’m smart enough to find you!”
A string of curses suddenly came from the side.
She didn’t have to think. It was definitely that idiot, Gao Jie.
Looking at the scared koi fish swimming away, Fu Lu turned to Gao Jie and asked with a blank expression, “Are you looking for me? What for?”
Gao Jie didn’t answer. He stepped forward and pushed him. “What do you think I’m looking for you for? You little green tea! Everyone in this school knows that Fu You is my woman, that I’m chasing her. It’s one thing to like the goddess, since more than half the school likes her, but you actually got her. I’m not okay with that! Damn it!”
Fu Lu was pushed back a few steps and almost fell. Gao Jie grabbed his collar and slapped him on his handsome face.
“Why were you able to win her over? If you were like the rest of us and failed to get her, I would have let it go, but you… Damn it! They all said you drugged the goddess. Tell me! Did you really mess with her?”
“I said no. Do you believe me?”
Fu Lu lowered his head and said slowly. But the next second, Gao Jie slapped him again.
He told his lackeys to grab Fu Lu. He himself grabbed the bangs on Fu Lu’s forehead and lifted his head. “You won’t believe it until you see the coffin, huh? You actually dare to lie! I was just watching you mumble to yourself over there. If that’s not witchcraft, what is?”
As he spoke, his eyes fell on the letter in Fu Lu’s hand. “Tell me, what’s this? Is it a drug? I knew it. You just look innocent on the surface, but your mind is filthy. Just wait. I’ll go tell Fu You!”
“I didn’t! I didn’t!… Ugh!”
Gao Jie didn’t want to hear him talk. He just wanted to vent. In a place where Fu You wasn’t around to protect him, he was going to beat him to a pulp.
Besides, there was no one else here but them.
“You guys, get him, too!”
“You got it, Brother Gao!”
A few of them surrounded Fu Lu. Seeing him curled up on the ground with his hands over his head, not making a sound, they started kicking and punching him even harder.
They hit him very hard. Fu Lu was beaten until he was spitting up bl00d, but they still didn’t plan on letting him go. They spat on him as they beat him and even prepared to pee on him to humiliate him.
Fu Lu’s eyes became bloodshot. The temperature around them suddenly began to drop. The lake water gradually churned. The countless koi fish at the bottom of the lake suddenly surfaced, gathering under the bridge and opening their mouths to breathe.
If you looked closely, you could clearly see that the koi fish’s mouths were full of sharp teeth.
“Brother Gao, are you cold?”
“Yeah, Brother Gao, why do I feel a little cold?…”
The two lackeys gradually stopped. They looked around, rubbing their arms, trying to rub away the cold. When they saw what was happening in the lake, their faces instantly changed.
“B-Brother Gao, look! L-look down there!”
Gao Jie impatiently stopped, turned his head to look, and his face instantly changed when he saw the changes in the lake.
“Damn it! What is that?”
A small lackey quietly moved next to Gao Jie and said with a hint of a sob, “B-Brother Gao, do you think this could be… could be the girl who died here before? S-she turned into a vengeful ghost…”
With that reminder, a few of them suddenly remembered the strange incident.
They had been so focused on how to teach Fu Lu a lesson that they had completely forgotten about it.
“Anyway, anyway, we’ve already taught him a lesson. Brother Gao, let’s go. We can still go back and take P.E. with the goddess…”
After hearing them say that, Gao Jie started to back down. He threw the letter in his hand at Fu Lu’s face, turned around, and got ready to leave.
“None of you is leaving.”
Fu Lu’s low growl suddenly came from behind them. His voice had lost its usual youthfulness and had become unusually cold, even with a hint of murderous intent.
A few of them instantly froze. The air was colder than before.
“W-what do you want to do?”
A bad premonition instantly grew in their hearts, but they couldn’t put their finger on it.
Fu Lu picked up the letter in his hand. The letter was wrinkled and stained with his own bl00d. He slowly stood up from the ground, smoothed out the letter, and slowly raised his head, staring at a few of them with his bloodshot eyes.
“My lucky friends said they’re hungry. They want to eat some fresh flesh and bl00d. So, none of you is leaving.”
After he said that, he reached his hand into the lake water. The koi fish in the lake all opened their mouths to breathe. Their ready-to-pounce state made a few of them back away.
“You! You really are a monster!”
Gao Jie was so scared that he didn’t know what to call him. After he said that, he turned around and ran. He knew that if he didn’t run now, he wouldn’t get a chance later.
Fu Lu gave a small smile and tilted his head slightly. He said softly, “Senior, I told you, my lucky friends want some fresh meat.”
