- Chapter 18 - The Bizarre Campus: Boys Can Also Be Little White Flower
The surface of the Tai Chi Lake began to shake, scaring Gao Jie and the others, who stumbled backward.
In an instant, countless columns of water shot up from the lake.
The water columns immediately shot up in front of them, trapping them, leaving no gaps.
“Ah!—”
In the mist, they couldn’t open their eyes. They could only try their best to squint, trying to see the situation in front of them through a tiny gap.
Just as Gao Jie saw what was ahead, a wave of water came crashing down, dousing him from head to toe. In the mist, their ears were filled with the excited voices of countless people, who were chattering and yelling.
Suddenly, a few of them felt their bodies being pulled by countless hands. From all directions, up, down, front, back, left, and right, there was a powerful tearing force that made them scream in even more agony.
Soon, the waves receded, and the lake returned to its calm state.
From the time the lake water churned to the time it was calm again, only thirty seconds had passed. In those thirty short seconds, a few of them had vanished without a trace.
Not even a single piece of evidence was left behind.
In the lake, the koi fish flocked together as if they were eating something.
Soon, the once-clear lake water became murky and, in a short while, turned a dark red color.
Fu Lu stood by the bridge, his elbows on the railing, quietly admiring the results of his koi fish:
“Sister said she didn’t want them to appear in front of her and wanted them to disappear, so I’ll feed them to the little fish. This way, I’ll solve Sister’s problem and the fish’s hunger. It’s a win-win situation~”
He carefully smoothed the crumpled letter and reached out to wipe the bl00d off it.
“What a shame. It’s stained with bl00d. It doesn’t look good anymore.”
“Oh, I just need to color all of them the same color, and it’ll look good again, won’t it?”
With a thought, he started to move. Fu Lu smiled and said goodbye to the koi fish, then went back to his dorm.
Soon it was noon. All the morning classes were over, and Fu You and Ren Jiyu went to the cafeteria to eat.
On the way, Ren Jiyu felt that something was off. She had seen Gao Jie and his friends in the first class, but she hadn’t seen them in the classes after that.
Normally, he would never miss a chance to be near Fu You, even if it was just standing far away from her in the same class.
The fact that he hadn’t shown up for several classes in a row was a little strange.
Besides, they often skipped class, but they rarely missed P.E. In fact, students from other classes would try everything to get in.
Everyone knew the reason for that. Before P.E. class, they would change into form-fitting clothes, especially during swimming lessons. Everyone wanted to see the beauties in their swimsuits, especially their goddess, Fu You.
When they got to the cafeteria, the two of them finally found out why Gao Jie was absent.
“Oh my god, something happened again at Tai Chi Lake. Did you know? Gao Jie and his lackeys fell into the lake and were eaten by the fish. There wasn’t even a single bone left!”
“What?! Are you serious?! They were actually eaten by those koi fish? Holy crap! Aren’t koi fish supposed to be lucky? They eat people?!”
“That’s so scary. I’m never going to go feed the fish there again. I used to bring them so much fish food, hoping they’d bring me good luck. I hope I don’t fall in one day and become their good luck!!!”
“Hey, wait. Why would they go there? P.E. class was about to start. They should have been getting ready for class.”
“Who knows? The school’s surveillance footage was pulled up, and it shows the three of them standing on the bridge, venting. They must have been drunk and accidentally fell in when they turned around.”
All the students in the cafeteria were discussing this matter, saying all sorts of things.
Fu You and Ren Jiyu finally got a general idea of what had happened from the students’ conversations and the posts on the forum.
But did Gao Jie and his friends really just fall in?
Fu You didn’t believe it.
“Oh my god! How long has it been? Half a month, and ten people have already died…”
Ren Jiyu was a little scared, so she quickly drank a few sips of the fresh fish soup from the cafeteria to calm herself down.
“The feng shui of our school must be bad. A’You, do you remember that at the end of last month, they were talking about demolishing the abandoned sports field and restrooms at school? But when a digger started digging, they found a pile of white bones.”
Fu You… how could I remember that?
She only remembered some unimportant things. She completely forgot about the things that seemed to be clues. She suspected that the system was to blame, that it was deliberately messing with her.
But she still nodded at Ren Jiyu. When Ren Jiyu saw that she remembered, she continued:
“I heard that the school didn’t just dig up a pile of bones. They also found a dark red bundle, and inside it was a statue that seemed to be suppressing something. Anyway, no one knew what it was. It looked pretty scary, and it was broken…”
As she spoke, she pulled out a picture and showed it to Fu You. “Here, it’s this…”
Fu You took the phone and looked through the pictures. It was a thread on the forum. There were a few pictures in it. The first picture clearly showed a digger parked next to a large pit that had been dug up. There were many bones in the pit and in the dirt outside it.
The second picture was of a reconstructed statue that had the words “ward off evil” on it.
The third picture was of the stone statue that Ren Jiyu had mentioned. A pair of hands was holding a dark red cloth, and wrapped in the cloth was the broken black stone statue.
Fu You frowned slightly. She thought she knew what this was. It was a symbol of good luck. It was said that touching it would bring good luck.
So, it also had the effect of warding off evil spirits.
It was wrapped in this dark red cloth, and the words “ward off evil” were carved on the stone tablet. Plus, there were so many human bones buried underground. It didn’t take a genius to figure out its purpose.
“Our back mountain is a private cemetery. People who died in battle and others are buried there. As long as you pay, you can be buried there. I think this thing was meant to suppress them, but now it’s broken, so the ghosts and spirits can’t be suppressed. Is that why so many people are dying?!”
Ren Jiyu believed in ghosts and gods. She also loved metaphysics and knew a little bit about divination. Anything related to the supernatural, she wanted to know more about. That’s why she immediately connected these things to the stone statue.
Fu You suddenly thought of something. Her eyes widened. The name Fu Lu popped into her mind.
Could Fu Lu’s true form be the stone statue?
Just as she was thinking, Ren Jiyu suddenly touched her hand and smiled at the side. “A’You, your little boyfriend is here to find you!”
Fu You looked up and saw Fu Lu walking toward her with a food tray. He asked in a low voice, “Sister, can I sit here?”
Before Fu You could even say anything, Ren Jiyu spoke first. “Hey, little one, don’t sit across from her. Come sit here, next to your girlfriend.”
“Ren Jiyu!”
Fu You gave Ren Jiyu a helpless glare. Ren Jiyu picked up her food tray and ran, sitting down across from Fu You. She lightly pushed Fu Lu. “Why are you standing there? I made room for you. Go sit!”
He’s so slow!
Fu Lu didn’t get up right away. He looked up at Fu You with pleading eyes. When he saw Fu You nod, he grinned and sat down next to her.
He had a faint scent of lavender body wash on him, so he must have just showered.
Fu You turned to him. There were some bruises and a few small, already-scabbed wounds on his young face.
Fu Lu seemed to have noticed that Fu You was looking at his wounds. He instinctively lowered his head and avoided her gaze, trying to pull his collar up a little to hide them.
Fu You suddenly grabbed his wrist and, with a powerful pull, yanked down his collar. Then she reached up and pinched Fu Lu’s chin, turning his face toward her. She then asked,
“Who did this?”
Ren Jiyu was eating and thought that Fu You was just flirting with her little boyfriend until she heard what Fu You said. Only then did she see the small wounds on Fu Lu’s face.
“Holy crap! Who did this? They’re so cruel!”
Fu You took out two cute bandages from her bag and carefully put them on him. Her fingertips lightly touched Fu Lu’s skin, which sent a ripple through his heart.
He instinctively took a sharp breath. The pain from the wound being touched made him moan.
His pitiful look was truly heartbreaking. Fu You gently held his face. “Fu Lu, tell me, who did this?”
Fu Lu stared intently into her eyes. The beautiful eyes were filled with concern for him and nothing else. It made his heart feel incredibly warm.
[Boss happiness value +10]
“Sister, are you worried about me?”
Fu You lowered her head and smiled. Then she reached out and patted his head. “You called me ‘Sister,’ so of course I have to take care of my little brother!”
Fu Lu’s eyes dimmed slightly.
‘But I never wanted to be Sister’s little brother—’
But he still looked up and nuzzled Fu You affectionately. Ren Jiyu finally couldn’t take it anymore and said,
“Cough, cough, cough. I’m still here!”
As she spoke, she rolled her eyes, her tone sour. The next second, she completely buried herself in her food.
“You still haven’t answered me. Who did this?” Fu You continued to ask.
Fu Lu’s voice was very low, and he lowered his head slightly. “It was… Senior Gao and his friends… But, I heard they drowned and were eaten by the fish. It’s so scary… Sister…”
As he spoke, he put on a scared expression, wanting Fu You to feel sorry for him.
Fu You couldn’t help but sigh in your heart: This kid still thinks I haven’t figured out he’s the Boss. He’s pretending to be a little white flower, a little green tea…
But Fu You didn’t plan on exposing him. She just let him be. He was so cute now. What if he wasn’t cute anymore after she exposed him?
A little boy can be a little white flower.
At least, I like it.
