- Chapter 20 - A Bonus Chapter for a Hundred Collections: I'm not human to begin wit
“Wait a second, I’ll be right down.”
Fu You said into the phone and then hung up.
Since she wasn’t going to get a proper shower anyway, Fu You went back to the bathroom for a quick rinse. Then, she dried herself off completely, changed her clothes, and left the dorm.
As for Fang Yaoyao, who was lying in the dorm, she might as well let her sleep well. She would ask her what happened later when she woke up.
Fu You didn’t think there was anything wrong with her. Instead, she thought she was possessed by some evil spirit, so she would have to investigate it when she got back later.
She wore a high ponytail, a big white T-shirt, and black and gray shorts that showed off her long, fair legs. She was wearing a pair of cute, funny Crocs.
If you didn’t look at her feet, she would be the epitome of a graceful goddess. But with those Crocs, which were neither cute nor funny, she looked more like a funny girl with a bit of a crazy streak.
Fu You left the dorm and walked toward the stairs. As she passed the public restroom, she heard the sound of someone throwing up. She shook her head. That bowl of fish soup had really harmed a lot of people.
She walked down the stairs to the first floor and headed outside the dorm. As soon as she stepped out, she saw Fu Lu standing very obediently under a big tree outside.
Next to the wide road below the dorm building were streetlights and a row of trees.
He was just standing under the tree, holding his things and waiting for Fu You.
When he saw Fu You walk out of the dorm, his eyes lit up, and he walked toward Fu You. “Sister!”
“I swear. Why are you waiting outside in this heat? You didn’t have to come all the way here just to bring me food.”
Fu You subconsciously reached out and patted his head, then took the bag of snacks from his hand.
Fu Lu smiled shyly. “Sister, can’t I just come because I missed you?”
Just as Fu You was about to speak, he said before her, “By the way, Sister, what happened to your phone?”
He was staring at the badly shattered phone in Fu You’s left hand.
“My roommate suddenly went crazy and threw my phone on the ground. She was also harming herself in the dorm.”
“What? Went crazy? Harmed herself? Did she hurt you, Sister?”
Fu You shook her head and said, “I’m fine. I don’t know what’s wrong with her. I was in the shower, and she kept screaming that it was too loud. Then she kept hitting her head and pulling out her hair. I had to work so hard to make her fall asleep. I only had time to come out after she finally fell asleep.”
There was something in Fu Lu’s eyes. He clearly knew what was going on.
He paused before he started speaking. “Sister, if this happens again, don’t pay any attention to her. Just leave the dorm, okay? I’m afraid she’ll hurt you. Call me the first chance you get, okay?”
Fu You looked into his eyes and asked, “A’Lu, do you know something?”
“Sister, please listen to me. It’s better for you not to know about bad things that don’t concern you.”
He couldn’t say. The more Fu You knew, the more dangerous it was for her. He didn’t want that. He could at least guarantee that most of the bad things wouldn’t hurt Fu You now, but he couldn’t guarantee the smaller things.
So, he had to do his best to protect his Sister.
“Hmm?”
Fu Lu looked at Fu You, wanting to reach out and hold her hand. He reached out halfway and then paused before putting his hand down. He then looked into Fu You’s eyes and said, “Sister, don’t worry or be scared. I’m here. I’ll protect you.”
He promised her with a serious face.
Fu You didn’t continue to ask questions, nor did she reject his promise. She just smiled and said, “Okay, I trust you.”
For the rest of their break, Fu Lu accompanied Fu You to go shopping and buy a new phone. When they passed by a small store, Fu Lu’s eyes subconsciously landed on a pair of phone charms.
A black and a white phone charm, with two cute little dogs hanging on them.
At the time, Fu You was buying ice cream and didn’t notice Fu Lu walking into the small store.
Soon, Fu Lu bought the charms and walked back to Fu You. He smiled at her and said, “Sister, can I borrow your phone for a second?”
“Here you go.”
Fu You handed him her phone without hesitation.
“Hehe~”
[Fu Lu’s happiness value +5]
She watched as Fu Lu took a white phone charm from his pocket and carefully put the little dog charm on her phone case.
Then he took out his own phone, which already had the phone charm on it, and held both phones in front of Fu You’s eyes. He smiled and said,
“Sister, what do you think? Do they look good?”
“They’re beautiful! Thank you.”
Fu You smiled as she took the phone and praised him generously.
The smile on Fu Lu’s face didn’t fade for a long time. He was very happy. He had never thought that Fu You would actually stand by his side, nor had he ever thought that Fu You would be so close to him.
Now, all of that had come true.
He got the reward he wanted, and the smile on his face became even brighter.
Fu You looked at the little dog hanging on her phone charm and then at Fu Lu’s extremely happy face. She couldn’t help but think that if Fu Lu had a tail, it would be wagging happily right now.
After entering the dorm building, as soon as Fu You got to the third floor, she heard the sound of someone throwing up in the bathroom. She was a little confused. She had been out for at least an hour to buy a new phone, so even the person who could throw up the most wouldn’t throw up for an hour.
She was throwing up an hour ago, and she was still throwing up an hour later?
She was just a little confused and didn’t plan on sticking her nose in other people’s business. She continued walking up the stairs toward her dorm.
The sound of footsteps came to a sudden halt behind her, and then the sound of footsteps started again, getting closer and closer.
Fu You didn’t pay any attention to it. She just paused for a second without turning around and continued walking up.
The sound of footsteps was still there, and the person was still following her.
After a short walk, Fu You arrived at her dorm door. She reached out and grabbed the doorknob, turning her body slightly as if she was about to open the door. She glanced at the source of the footsteps in the back.
About two meters away, a girl in pink and purple pajamas with long black hair was slowly walking toward her.
Tap, tap,
The footsteps were close, and the person was getting closer.
Fu You subconsciously tightened her grip on the doorknob. She then turned and looked at the girl. She thought someone was playing a trick on her. Since someone was trying to prank her, she might as well see who it was.
But as soon as she turned and looked toward the girl, the figure instantly disappeared.
Even the sound of her footsteps disappeared. All Fu You could think of was that she was hallucinating.
But she didn’t believe in hallucinations. Someone was just trying to play a trick on her, or maybe they were trying to trick more than just her.
She turned to her dorm, twisted the doorknob, and pushed the door open, walking inside.
As soon as she opened the door and walked in, Fu You saw the fleeting figure again. She was right behind her. The pink and purple were very eye-catching.
She could clearly feel that the distance between the girl and her had shrunk from the two meters before to one meter, or even closer.
Bang! Fu You slammed the door shut and subconsciously locked it.
From two meters away, she couldn’t see the pink and purple pajama girl’s face clearly, but just now, they were less than a meter apart. She could see clearly that the girl’s face was pale—a sickly pale.
Her lips were swollen and red, and there was bl00d at the corners of her mouth. She had also thrown up something. Only one of the girl’s eyes could be seen, and it looked like it had been smashed by something. Something was wiggling in both of her eye sockets, and things were constantly flowing out of them.
Fu You wasn’t scared of this thing; she was just disgusted.
Tap, tap,
She leaned against the door and heard the footsteps gradually walking away. Only then did Fu You take a deep breath, turn, and lean against the door to relax. She then got ready to squat down, looking ahead. Just as she was about to squat, she saw Fang Yaoyao sitting on the bed, staring straight at Fu You.
Fu You cautiously stood up from her half-squat and looked at Fang Yaoyao. She watched her stare at her without blinking, like she had been drained of her soul, or like a puppet doll she used to play with as a child.
“Fang Yaoyao? Are you okay?”
The other person didn’t answer.
Fu You slowly moved her feet. The other person’s gaze didn’t follow her. She was still staring at the door.
“Fang Yaoyao?”
“Fang Yaoyao?”
She called out her name a few times, but Fang Yaoyao still didn’t respond. She slowly moved her feet to the side of Fang Yaoyao and gently shook her with her hand, but the other person still didn’t respond.
It was as if she were immersed in her own world, unable to hear or see anything outside. In her mind, she was only doing what she wanted to do or what she was imagining.
It was similar to feeling like she was in another dimension and unwilling to wake up.
Seeing this, Fu You didn’t want to get involved. Her life was more important. What if she accidentally got killed by this Fang Yaoyao? That would be so unfair.
She sat back down on her bed and couldn’t help but text the dorm manager. Not long after, the dorm manager came up and took Fang Yaoyao to the infirmary.
If she had to sleep in the same dorm as a person like that, there was no way she could sleep. What if she fell asleep and the other person accidentally killed her in her sleep? That would be such an unjust death.
She could die because of the Boss, but she couldn’t die because of these things!
It was lunchtime, but Fu You didn’t go to sleep. Even though Fang Yaoyao had been taken to the infirmary, she still didn’t sleep. Instead, she took out all the props from her pocket. Besides the dagger, the rest were all small cards.
Each small card had a unique pattern. Instead of a unique pattern, it was the face of a monster. Every single small card had a monster’s face on it.
The last card she used could teleport her to a random place, but the other cards were just like that one. They didn’t have their effects written on them. They were just a monster’s face.
She guessed for a while, and when she couldn’t guess, she started to get impatient. She silently started calling out to the system in her mind:
“Hey, I’m just saying, when you give me a prop, can you label its abilities? I have to gamble every time I use one! You’re not treating me like a human being! This is so illogical. Shouldn’t this system be updated?”
When the system didn’t reply for a while, she grumbled, “It’s really not user-friendly!”
[I’m not a human, to begin with~]
