That slap didn’t increase the happiness value.
Fu You fell into deep thought. She wondered if the remaining happiness value would only start to increase after she obtained that special item.
She turned to Wei Shengjun Yu and said plainly, “Let the other two down. I’ve had enough of seeing people get killed for now.”
Wei Shengjun Yu obediently complied. Then he took a handkerchief from his suit pocket and carefully wiped the bl00d from Fu You’s hand.
“Then, Sister, you can watch them here. I’ll go change.”
Fu You looked at his obedient demeanor and sometimes felt a pang of sympathy. To her, Wei Shengjun Yu was like a child who had been denied an education, without a family, growing up on his own, and was forced to become the way he was.
Watching Wei Shengjun Yu’s back as he walked away, Fu You quickly untied the other two people. She didn’t dare to touch the head of the person in the middle. Since he was already dead, she might as well leave him there.
She asked, “Are you guys okay?”
“What kind of monster is that?”
“Pfft, who cares what he is? I brought a gun with me. He’s gonna get a taste of lead later!”
The woman in front of her rolled her eyes at him. “You’re useless, you worthless piece of trash. Or else why would we have been caught and brought here?”
Fu You was confused by what they were saying. Why were they caught and brought here? Isn’t the first dungeon just on this train?
Before long, Wei Shengjun Yu returned, adjusting his tie as he walked.
When he saw the girl helping Fu You up, he was furious. One of his tentacles flung the girl from one end of the car to the other. Fu You and the other man watched as the girl hit the wall and collapsed to the floor, spitting out bl00d.
Seeing this, the man rushed to the girl’s side and held her in his arms. “Ah Lin! Ah Lin, are you okay? How are you doing?”
Fu You’s head snapped up to look at Wei Shengjun Yu. She saw his tentacles wrap around her waist and pull her toward him.
“What are you doing?” Fu You yelled at him.
Wei Shengjun Yu didn’t answer. He just smiled, looking at the two people on the ground who were spitting bl00d. Fu You shook him off and ran toward Ah Lin, kneeling to help her up. “Are you okay? Can you talk?”
Ah Lin was bleeding nonstop and couldn’t speak. She just reached into her pocket and handed Fu You a note. The man beside her was now a sobbing mess.
Wei Shengjun Yu, who was standing on the other end of the car, was laughing at them wildly.
This car was also different from the others. It was empty without any seats, as if it were specifically used for recreation. Numerous small, teeth-like studs were hanging from the ceiling. Fu You had seen the scene just now, and she was sure these were used for hanging human heads.
Fu You’s hands were once again covered in bl00d. Ah Lin died without saying a word. Fu you just watched as her own kind died in front of her.
Her eyes grew colder. Ah Lin had a dagger tucked into her waist. Fu You put the note in her pocket, pulled out the dagger, and walked straight toward Wei Shengjun Yu.
This time, dead or alive, she had to avenge her own kind. She would just start over if she had to.
Wei Shengjun Yu felt the change in Fu You’s expression. He was a bit nervous but didn’t dare to move. He was even a little scared that Fu You would stop loving him because of this.
Thump!
The dagger plunged into Wei Shengjun Yu’s chest.
Bl00d spurted from his chest, splattering on Fu You’s face and her already crimson qipao. Her eyes blinked slightly.
Wei Shengjun Yu reached out, grabbed Fu You’s hand, pulled it away from him, and held it tightly. He looked up and said, “Does Sister’s heart hurt like this, too?”
The next second, the system’s prompt appeared:
[Dungeon mission terminated.
Target: The Gloomy Conductor
Happiness Value: 70%
Mission Failure Penalty: Execution!]
Wei Shengjun Yu knelt on the floor, his head bowed, and his tentacles hovered in mid-air. Everything else around them became eerily silent.
Fu You turned back and saw that the three people who were alive were also gone. She was at a complete loss.
“Wait, wait, he’s not dead yet! He’s not dead yet! System, there’s a way to save him, right?”
She tried to appeal to the system’s sympathy. “If I’m executed this time, can I start over?”
The system replied:
[Host, this is your last chance. You cannot be revived.
However, the store has a “start over” card for purchase~]
“Then what am I supposed to do now? I’m not going to just die like this, am I? You must have a way to save him, right? This is his world! How can he just die like that?”
Fu You looked at Wei Shengjun Yu and tried to find the system at the same time. She was starting to get scared now. Without newbie protection, it meant she could die at any moment and be stuck in this broken place forever.
She had never been in a relationship, never been to an idol’s concert, and never bought a big villa for herself. There were so many things she hadn’t done yet; she couldn’t die.
[Okay, Host. Detecting that the target still has life signs. Starting treatment now.]
Fu You put her hands together and bowed in all directions, muttering, “You’re so great, System. You’re a great person, System.”
“No, a great system.”
After she made a full circle, time began to rewind. Everything in the car started to change, but Fu You remained standing in place.
She knew that Wei Shengjun Yu was alive.
Time went back to the moment she changed her clothes, but she was already dressed and standing in front of the three people who were hanging in the car.
This time, it seemed she could save these three people.
Wei Shengjun Yu appeared behind her, his hand playing with her hair. He put his hand on her shoulder, leaned in, and said next to her ear, “Sister, why are you here? I looked for you in the room, but you weren’t there.”
Fu You didn’t turn around. She just reached out, grabbed Wei Shengjun Yu’s hand, and said with a smile, “I came to see the gifts Little Brother prepared for me.”
She let go of Wei Shengjun Yu’s hand and walked toward the three people, her high heels clicking. She looked at Wei Shengjun Yu with a cold stare. “Let them go. I don’t eat my own kind. I only eat greens.”
“Oh! I’m sorry, Sister. I didn’t know you didn’t like this. I’ll go find new food for you right away.”
Wei Shengjun Yu apologized and walked forward, taking Fu You’s hand and kissing the back of it. Then he disappeared.
Fu You couldn’t untie the people, so she just took the gags out of their mouths. “How are you guys? Are you okay?”
At that moment, Ah Lin was frozen in shock.
As for Wu Qingsheng, he was on high alert, his eyes full of distrust toward Fu You. He didn’t want to talk to her at all.
“Oh my God, I finally got rid of him. I’m so good at this!”
Fu You wiped away the sweat that wasn’t on her forehead. She looked in the direction where Wei Shengjun Yu had left, smiling. She turned around and saw that the three players she had just ungagged were staring at her as if they had seen a ghost.
Fu You tried to take two steps closer to them, but Wu Qingsheng immediately shouted, “Don’t come any closer!”
When she took another two steps, Wu Qingsheng started kicking his feet harder. He wanted to kick Fu You, but also didn’t want to hurt her.
Wen Lu, who was a little slow, also followed Wu Qingsheng’s lead. When Ah Lin saw the other two move, she followed suit.
So, the three of them began to do a strange, elderly exercise routine in front of Fu You.
“Are you guys… working out?”
Fu You stood farther away, looking at the three of them swaying, and couldn’t help but laugh out loud. She raised her voice a little and said, “Actually, I’m not a ghost…”
Wu Qingsheng stopped. Ah Lin and Wen Lu also stopped. Ah Lin responded incoherently, “But… but you… you just… with him… You guys…”
This was the first time Fu You had heard Ah Lin speak. She couldn’t help but wonder if this person had a stutter.
“Oh, that’s not important. What’s important is how you got here. Is there any way I can send you away?”
Fu You said, looking around. Seeing that Wei Shengjun Yu hadn’t returned yet, she asked, “By the way, do you have any other clues to share? Maybe I can really save your lives!”
She said it seriously. Ah Lin seemed to believe her, but Wu Qingsheng didn’t. He saw that Ah Lin was about to speak and immediately cut her off.
“Ah Lin, don’t believe her. She must be with that monster. Otherwise, why wouldn’t she just let us go?”
Wen Lu nodded foolishly. “Exactly! If she were with us, she would have just let us go.”
Ah Lin pondered for a moment. Then she suddenly smiled at Fu You. “I believe you, Sister. I have a note in my pocket. I got it from a small animal when I came in.”
“Ah Lin!”
“Ah Lin!”
Wu Qingsheng and Wen Lu shouted in unison, startling Fu You. She walked forward with her hands behind her back, bypassed Wu Qingsheng and Wen Lu, and went straight to Ah Lin to get the note, which she put in her pocket.
Then she turned around and looked at Wu Qingsheng and Wen Lu. “Call me ‘Sister,’ and I’ll ask him to let you go.”
After what had just happened, Fu You understood that these three weren’t real players. They were just NPCs who had awakened and were trying to escape. If they were real players, they wouldn’t have disappeared at that moment.
Because when Wei Shengjun Yu was dying, these three disappeared, and even the bloodstains were cleaned up. Meanwhile, the dead people in the other cars were still sitting in their seats.
She had to admit, she was really smart.
Now that she had a clue about the ropes, all she had to do was find them when the train stopped at the next station.
She turned around, and Wei Shengjun Yu was standing behind her. He saw Fu You looking at him and quickly walked up to her, grabbing her hand and saying, “I’m sorry, Sister. I couldn’t find the food you wanted. The train is about to arrive at the station. How about we get off and eat? The train will be resting for the night.”
Fu You patted his head and smiled. “Okay, Little Brother~”
