The Domineering CEO, but a Crybaby! - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: She Wants Her Dead
He Shu carried Cen Qianyi back to the bedroom and placed her on the bed with the caution of someone holding a bomb.
In this short distance, she sweated more than she did when she was carrying the person up the mountain.
When Cen Qianyi’s back touched the soft mattress, the residual warmth on her back dissipated, but there was still a strange sensation, not painful, but noticeable.
Just as she wondered what this person was going to do next, the mattress beneath her sank a little more.
Then, her vision brightened, and the woman’s face, with its tear stains not yet dry, appeared in her line of sight.
He Shu didn’t dare to meet Cen Qianyi’s gaze. She lowered her eyes, took a deep breath, and took her hand.
“Are you happy to sleep with your master?”
He Shu, on the other hand, was not happy. With a bomb lying next to her, how could she sleep?!
With a miserable face, she took one handcuff off Cen Qianyi’s hand and cuffed the other end of the other handcuff to the bedpost.
What a pity. The plot only allowed her to cuff one hand.
If she could, she would have cuffed both her hands and feet. That way, she would feel a little more secure.
Cen Qianyi looked at the handcuffs on her wrist and suddenly remembered the scene when she woke up in the hospital… She was also like this, cuffed next to the woman.
She shook her hand. The metal handcuff struck the bedpost, making a crisp ‘clang, clang’ sound, startling He Shu so much that her soul almost left her body.
Her body trembled uncontrollably. Feeling that Cen Qianyi had something to say, He Shu looked at the ball in her mouth. But no, the plot didn’t allow her to take it off.
Not only was she not allowed to take it off, she also had to tease her. He Shu bit the bullet and pressed the ball in Cen Qianyi’s mouth as prompted.
“Babe, you look so cute like this, like a little goldfish.”
Goldfish? She was a great white shark! Treating her like a goldfish, not even eighty koi fish could save the original owner, this idiot!
He Shu stiffly reached out to hug this ‘great white shark’.
“Babe, you’ll fall in love with these things. The first time I saw you, I knew you would like them.”
As she spoke, the hand that was hugging her slid to her back and gently pressed on her bare back, drawing a circle as if to remind the other person what ‘these’ were.
“That’s all for tonight. I’ll take you to play something more fun tomorrow.”
As she said this, He Shu thought of tomorrow’s plot. In comparison to what she was going to ‘play’ tomorrow, today’s things were just child’s play…
Tomorrow was the real deal… It was truly asking for death…
He Shu closed her eyes, shutting out the despair in them.
Cen Qianyi, who had been watching her the whole time, caught the emotion in He Shu’s eyes, and her eyes lifted slightly.
What was she so sad and desperate about?
Cen Qianyi thought of the tears that had flowed onto her neck before. This person was so strange… She was the one who wanted to play, but she didn’t seem happy at all.
And the things she said just now also didn’t seem like something she wanted to say…
But who was forcing her to do and say these things?
Looking at the tears welling up in the corners of the woman’s eyes, ripples appeared in Cen Qianyi’s eyes.
What was she crying about now…
This person who could cry at any moment and the person she had found in the data were two completely different people.
The data showed that He Shu, CEO of the He Group, had absolute power within the group, and was even more ruthless and uncompromising than when her mother was alive.
In the afternoon, Cen Qianyi had a detailed look at her ruthless methods. She was indeed a ruthless person.
The situation she faced was one that only a ruthless person could stand firm in.
Starting at the age of 12, her relatives had died one after another in various accidents. She had a bit of luck, surviving several times.
After taking over the He Group as an adult, the hostile elders and executives all died in a series of accidents.
Cen Qianyi remembered when she asked He Shu if she had ever killed anyone, and the other person had sworn she hadn’t.
She was indeed a liar, or maybe she didn’t think these ‘accidents’ counted as killing.
After looking through all the data, this woman should be a dark-hearted, scheming person who would do anything to achieve her goals.
How could such a person be this person who cried at the drop of a hat…
He Shu didn’t know that Cen Qianyi was having doubts about her identity. It didn’t matter even if she did. She was indeed He Shu.
“Babe, have a good dream tonight. I’ll take you to see the sunrise tomorrow morning.”
He Shu said this last line with a trembling voice.
The electronic sound of the plot being completed in her mind didn’t make her happy either.
She didn’t care about the reward. She thought of having to ‘walk the dog’ as soon as she opened her eyes tomorrow morning and wished she could beat up the system!
The system, on the other hand, was very self-righteous.
[Has the host never had a dog? After getting a dog, isn’t the first thing you do every morning to walk the dog?]
He Shu was so angry her chest hurt. She had never had a ‘dog’ like this!
And she had never met such a non-human dog system!
Calling it a dog was an insult to dogs.
He Shu closed her eyes, turned off the light, and pulled the blanket over her head in one smooth motion.
Cen Qianyi: …
Completely bewildered, watching the person say a line and then fall asleep as if she was being chased by a dog, Cen Qianyi blinked. The darkness didn’t stop her from seeing the woman’s every move.
He Shu originally thought she couldn’t possibly fall asleep. Who could sleep with a bomb next to them that could explode at any moment?
But she had clearly underestimated her level of sleep deprivation.
As expected of someone who died from staying up too late…
With a pillow, she was truly asleep.
Cen Qianyi watched the person, who had just rolled around a few times on the pillow, and whose breathing was now long and steady. The questions in her heart piled up one on top of the other.
The data showed that ever since her relatives passed away, this woman had a sleep disorder and needed to take medication to fall asleep…
Listening to the gentle snoring in the darkness, Cen Qianyi raised an eyebrow. Who was making up that data?
She could fall asleep in a second, yet it was written as a sleep disorder…
Or was it… Cen Qianyi propped herself up a little and looked down at the person who seemed to be in a deep sleep. Or was this person not ‘He Shu’ at all?
He Shu, in her deep sleep, felt some movement beside her. It felt like Qianqian had come.
This silly dog was so old, yet she still couldn’t sleep on her own.
He Shu reached out and hugged the dog, naturally lifting a leg and putting it on top of her.
“Be good, Qianqian, go to sleep.”
Cen Qianyi was suddenly pressed down. Her eyebrows twitched. She thought the person had woken up, but after this person said that, she ground her teeth, hummed a few times, and continued her graceful little snores.
Cen Qianyi: …
She better not be faking it. Cen Qianyi reached out to push the leg on her waist, but the other person seemed dissatisfied with her action and grabbed her hand.
He Shu, in her sleep, held Qianqian’s paw that was causing trouble and pressed it against her chest: “Good girl… Qianqian…”
Cen Qianyi furrowed her brows. There was that name again, intimate and gentle, like calling a lover she had known for a long time…
Had she known someone named ‘Qianqian’ before?
Cen Qianyi wanted to pull her hand back. She didn’t want to be mistaken. As she struggled, the other person’s sleeve was pulled up a bit.
Cen Qianyi looked at the strange skin on He Shu’s arm and paused.
In the darkness, she could see patches of marks on her arm. The skin color was uneven, but she couldn’t make out the specific color.
Cen Qianyi thought of something. She looked at the person who was fast asleep and turned on a small nightlight on the bedside table.
Under the light, the red marks on He Shu’s arm were very obvious. They were fresh burns. Some were quite bad, and the skin was even wrinkled.
Cen Qianyi rolled up the sleeve on her other arm. It was the same. It was burned in patches, and some even had blisters.
Cen Qianyi thought of the gasps she heard in that room before. Was that when she was burned?
So… Cen Qianyi let go of her hand, a little hesitant. She wasn’t just ‘playing’ with her, she was also ‘playing’ with herself?
Did she really think this was fun?
And she played until she looked like this?
Cen Qianyi looked at the person, trying to find a plausible reason for all this.
Thinking of all the candles that were lit, and the ones that were put out, and the red candle that was finally used on her, Cen Qianyi had a faint guess, but she also felt it was impossible.
She looked at the person… How could this person be… so strange?
Cen Qianyi rarely wanted to understand what others were thinking, and it was rare for her to be curious about anyone. The main reason was that the people she met were easy to understand and predict.
She had only met this one strange person so far.
Who exactly was she?
Cen Qianyi thought of the data she had found on He Shu’s birth. It said that she had a birthmark on her chest when she was born, and its shape was quite unique.
Cen Qianyi lifted the blanket and carefully lifted the hem of the woman’s pajamas.
She wanted to verify if this person was He Shu.
But when she saw the birthmark on the woman’s chest that looked like an animal’s paw print, Cen Qianyi’s first reaction was to wonder if the data was also made up.
Was she really He Shu?
So, this person who was so careful not to hurt her while ‘playing’ and the person who created ‘accidents’ to ‘kill’ people were the same person?
Split personality?
One domineering, one a crybaby?
She met the crybaby one?
“Mmm, itchy.”
A murmur made Cen Qianyi’s mind clear. She looked down. The hem of the pajamas she had lifted was rubbing against her exposed skin. The woman seemed uncomfortable and scratched herself, leaving a few light red marks on her chest.
Cen Qianyi quickly let go. She hadn’t noticed before, but the hem was lifted a bit too high. The part of her chest that the woman had covered when she changed clothes during the day was now accidentally visible.
After ’round and tight,’ ‘quite round’ popped into her head.
She pulled the blanket back up, turned off the light, and looked at the ceiling, which was once again shrouded in darkness.
Time passed by, minute by minute. She didn’t know how long had passed. The chirping of the insects outside the window had started to die down.
Cen Qianyi finally managed to banish the images from her mind.
…
The deeper the night.
The quieter the world became.
Everything had entered a deep slumber.
In the dark, Cen Qianyi’s eyes suddenly opened. She broke free of the handcuffs, rolled under the bed, and completed all these actions in a blink of an eye, without making a sound.
Someone was coming, and they brought a killing intent with them.
Fang Nian dodged the bodyguards and successfully snuck into the target’s bedroom in the darkness.
Looking at the person sleeping on the bed, completely unaware, she couldn’t help but feel a little confused.
This was [Billion]?
How could she have no alertness at all…
Then she thought, it must be because she was too good. She hadn’t alerted a single bodyguard on her way in, and she had completely rewritten the code for the surveillance cameras.
Fang Nian smiled and took a syringe from her pouch. She was about to inject the person when she realized something was wrong!
But it was too late!
She lost her grip on the item, and as it was snatched away, her hands were twisted behind her. With a clinking sound, her hands were handcuffed!
Her neck felt a sharp pain, and the needle was plunged into her neck. A finger was pressed against her lips.
A ghostly whisper sounded in her ear: “If you don’t want to die, shut up.”
Fang Nian regretted her carelessness, but the fact that the person could appear behind her so silently and steal her item so easily showed that the person’s skills were superior to hers.
She must have run into someone from the Alliance.
And a top-tier one at that.
Fang Nian cooperated fully, waiting for the other person’s next move.
“Someone from the Bounty Alliance?”
The low voice, in the darkness, was like a hawk circling low, making her heart pound and worry that she would be eaten without a trace if she wasn’t careful.
“Are you… are you also here to kill [Billion]?”
Billion?
Cen Qianyi raised an eyebrow. She was here to kill her?
But the person had been about to attack the woman on the bed.
Her thoughts turned, and Cen Qianyi probed: “How did you find this place?”
Fang Nian heard this and, sure enough, it was someone from the Alliance. They had a conflicting order.
“We’re on the same side, so we can talk. Since I found Billion first, how about we split the bounty evenly?”
Cen Qianyi confirmed her suspicion. This person was here to kill [Billion], but she mistook the woman on the bed for [Billion].
How did this misunderstanding happen?
Seeing that the person didn’t respond, Fang Nian quickly changed her offer: “Eighty-twenty. You get eighty, I get twenty.”
Cen Qianyi looked at the person, her eyes narrowed.
Fang Nian felt the killing intent: “You can have it all. You let me go, and I’ll give it all to you!”
As she spoke, she suddenly twisted her head, escaping the other person’s grip. Her now-free hands quickly went for her gun!
But the other person seemed to have predicted it! The gun was easily intercepted halfway. Fang Nian could only give up and try to grab the needle from her hand.
Cen Qianyi casually tossed it. The falling needle rolled under the bed. The dark barrel of the gun was pointed at the person’s throat, forcing her to tilt her head back.
“Don’t, don’t kill me, I—”
Before she could finish her sentence, her upturned gaze met those light purple eyes. Her mind went blank for a moment. She forgot what she was going to say…
There was a faint light flickering on the night vision goggles, or maybe it was spinning…
Before she lost consciousness, Fang Nian finally understood what a serious mistake she had made!
The person in front of her was the real [Billion]!
Cen Qianyi looked at the person whose eyes had lost focus and put away the gun.
“Name.”
“Fang Nian.”
“How did you know the woman on the bed was [Billion]?”
When Fang Nian heard the question, she took out the phone in her pouch like a robot that had received an order and handed it to the master who was giving the commands.
“Today, the organization received an anonymous tip…”
In a monotonous, robotic voice, she explained how she used the information to find the person who sent the message and, in turn, found this place.
Cen Qianyi looked at the anonymous tip and understood how this person had mistaken the person who sent the message for her.
Indeed, besides her, the person who took the order, no one should know the details of these jobs.
Cen Qianyi’s gaze shifted from the phone to the woman on the bed. In the dark, she could still clearly see her sleeping face.
“A special person.”
Cen Qianyi repeated the ID of the tipster as if she was chewing on it.
She remembered the woman’s self-introduction earlier—”He Shu, the character ‘Shu’ in ‘special’.”
Cen Qianyi couldn’t help but tilt her head slightly. She was indeed quite special.
She watched for a while, almost making out how many eyebrows she had, but she still couldn’t figure out how this person knew.
But the result clearly showed that she not only knew, but she knew very well.
Not only that, she also hoped she would be caught…
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of sending this anonymous tip.
And there was only one outcome if she was caught…
She wanted her dead.
Cen Qianyi narrowed her eyes, looking at the person who was sleeping soundly, and smiled faintly as if she had thought of something.
Everyone who wanted her dead had died before her.
Cen Qianyi turned to Fang Nian: “Who else knows this?”
“Only I know. I deleted the information as soon as I received it. There are no traces.”
Cen Qianyi’s lips curled. No, one more person knew.
Her gaze returned to He Shu on the bed. No matter how cleanly the information was deleted, the person who sent it would always know… and they could send it again if they wanted.
Cen Qianyi removed the gun’s magazine, looked at the full bullets inside, and put it back.
She chambered a round, put the gun back in Fang Nian’s hand, and lay back down on the bed.
She cuffed herself again. Cen Qianyi looked at the person next to her and used her free hand to touch this face that looked like it was in a sweet sleep.
She never kept people who knew her secrets alive…
Letting go of her hand, Cen Qianyi looked at Fang Nian and gave her final command.
“Shoot her. Kill her.”
