The Domineering CEO, but a Crybaby! - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Night Falls
“Play tomorrow, little dog needs to sleep early.”
“I’m willing to put it on for you.”Night Falls
The hoarse voice held a distinct, trembling panic.
He Shu’s heart trembled in sync. Her shaky gaze fell upon the speaker, her eyes filled with continuous surprise and doubt.
What was going on? In the original novel, the other party clearly refused to change clothes.
Why, now, was she willing to put it on for her?
What had she done to her that made her willing?
It couldn’t be that she was more perverted than the original owner, making the other party scared.
The person on the floor truly looked weak and helpless, curling herself into an even smaller ball in panicked disorientation.
Her delicate face, already bloodless, was now as pale as paper. Her entire being was like paper in a gust of wind, thin and desolate, desperately trying to find a sense of security.
If it weren’t for the killing intent still surrounding He Shu, she would truly have believed the other party’s appearance, thinking she was a pitiful little white flower, the kind that had been ravaged all night by a stormy wind.
Meeting those light purple eyes, He Shu instinctively felt danger. She remained silent and still, just frantically calling the system in her mind.
Cen Qianyi looked at the woman silently watching her from a distance. To act more like a blind person, her gaze didn’t fall directly on the woman’s face, but rather slightly off to the side, on a strand of black hair on her shoulder.
That strand of hair curled up in her shoulder hollow. The soft, floppy hair made the shoulder blades look hard and sharp.
Her former instructor once told her a joke: people with hard-looking bones and soft-looking hair were the worst.
They possessed deceptive appearances and the coldest hearts.
Cen Qianyi was such a person.
The person in front of her was clearly the same…
Looking at the ‘clothes’ in the other person’s hand, Cen Qianyi’s curled fingers subtly drew a circle.
Although the muscle paralysis had not worn off, as long as the person came within one meter of her…
Her fingernail scraped across the painted iron chain, leaving a deep scratch. With a pure black interior, if this scratch were on a throat, it should be a vivid crimson.
At that time, she would be willing to put on that equally vibrant red clothing for her, and then gouge out a pair of eyeballs to fill into the mesh holes of that clothing.
“Hmm? What’s wrong? Why aren’t you giving me the clothes?”
Cen Qianyi’s panicked and disoriented voice brought He Shu’s attention back. She had been calling the system in her mind for a long time, but it remained as silent as if it were dead.
After snapping back to reality, He Shu noticed the killing intent beside her had intensified. The ‘air knives’ were already densely packed, enough to trigger trypophobia.
“System, get out here! Can you stop this killing intent experience card?!”
It was truly useless. It only let her know the other party wanted to kill her, but it couldn’t predict if the other party could kill her. What was the point? Did she not already know the other party wanted to kill her?
It will automatically expire when the time is up. It cannot be paused during use.
The vanished system finally resurfaced, its voice again that of a bad connection.
“What’s wrong with you? What are you, a system, afraid of?”
Great, no response again.
He Shu was starting to lose faith in it now, but she didn’t dare risk leaving this room to change clothes. What if she had to start over? That would be too much.
Forget it, she’d just give it to her. She wanted to wear it herself anyway.
At worst, she’d just close her eyes and not look.
He Shu walked towards the person.
After a few steps, she felt it was wrong. The other party had changed the plot, and she didn’t know what would happen next. How insecure would she feel if she kept her eyes closed?
He Shu looked down at her own clothes. She wasn’t wearing much either; otherwise, she could have taken something off for the other person.
Wait! He Shu looked at the white silk top she was wearing and suddenly remembered she had an extra piece of clothing!
“System, system, come out quickly! The lab coat! Is the rewarded lab coat a physical item, and how do I redeem rewards?”
No sooner had she asked than a selection panel popped up in her mind.
One lab coat. Acquire immediately? Yes/No.
He Shu chose yes without hesitation.
A celebratory explosion of confetti appeared before her eyes.
Can be retrieved from any pocket.
After this electronic voice, a sharp alarm blared, and a huge red exclamation mark appeared.
[Level One Warning: System reward acquisition must not be seen by anyone other than the host. Otherwise, it will be considered a plot breach by the host in this world, and the character will be erased and forced to start over!]
He Shu was looking for pockets. Her top didn’t have any, but her pants did. After seeing this warning, she looked up at Cen Qianyi.
It’s okay, she couldn’t see.
Cen Qianyi looked at the suddenly stopped dark red leather shoes, a hint of irritation flashing in her light purple eyes. One more step would have been enough.
Following the close-fitting pant legs upward, the woman who had stopped stood with her hands in her pockets, looking down at her, with an inexplicable… excitement in her eyes?
He Shu felt it was truly amazing!
Her left pants pocket seemed to have become Doraemon’s magical pocket. After reaching in, it was immensely empty inside, and her hand seemed to have a suction force.
Something was coming towards her hand. She quickly spread her five fingers, adopting a grasping posture.
This feeling was like summoning a magic artifact in a mythical world.
Soon, a bundle of fabric was shoved into her hand, like a piece of clothing.
What a pity, it wasn’t a magic artifact, just an ordinary lab coat.
Just as He Shu was about to pull it out, she looked down and saw Cen Qianyi looking up at her.
Meeting those light purple eyes, He Shu suddenly remembered the warning. Even though the person couldn’t see, her staring made her feel uneasy.
After a moment’s thought, He Shu quickly turned and ran to the corner, hiding behind the curtain to pull out the lab coat.
Holding the clothes, He Shu quickly ran back to Cen Qianyi, throwing the whole outfit over her head, covering the person.
“Wear it.”
She really hadn’t expected that a reward she thought was useless would actually come in handy. For a moment, she even suspected the system had planned it all along.
But thinking of the system’s idiotic demeanor, He Shu dismissed this guess.
Cen Qianyi pulled the item off her head and held it in her hand. After seeing it was a lab coat, the skin that had just been touched by the white fabric felt as if it was festering inch by inch.
The deep-seated fear in her bl00d surged forth.
She quickly threw the item away and roared at He Shu.
“Get out!”
He Shu was astonished by the dialogue that popped up in her mind.
It was back to the plot!
She looked at Cen Qianyi, who was trying hard to curl into a ball with her knees, but could only bend a little due to muscle paralysis. Her whole body was trembling… whether she was acting or it was real… and whether it was anger or fear…
All of this happened so suddenly.
So suddenly that even returning to the original plot didn’t make He Shu happy.
What was going on?
In her mind, the system prompted her that she could leave and end the plot after speaking her line.
He Shu hesitated, but still said the line she should have said long ago.
“Baby, a plaything needs to know its place…”
The action prompt told her she could leave angrily.
But He Shu left in confusion.
Before leaving, she saw Cen Qianyi still in that state.
The killing intent surrounding He Shu disappeared the moment she closed the door.
And as soon as the killing intent vanished, the system came online, its voice no longer choppy.
Ding ding ding, congratulations, Host, West Mountain Villa – Scene One plot successfully completed. Rewards will be sent uniformly after the entire West Mountain Villa plot concludes.
The cheerful music played again, and He Shu interrupted it directly.
“Forget those useless rewards. What happened? What was wrong with Cen Qianyi just now? Was there something wrong with that lab coat of yours?”
System rewards have no quality issues.
He Shu was about to ask again when she saw a small lightning bolt icon light up in her mind.
System charging…
What the hell? The system needed charging too? How did it charge, with brainwaves?
No matter how much He Shu called out to the system, there was no response.
She angrily punched her own head. Su Ming happened to come upstairs at that moment.
“Boss, what’s wrong?”
She said, her gaze examining He Shu, finally resting on the clothes in her hand, with a mix of confusion and concern.
He Shu followed her gaze to the clothes in her hand. She almost forgot, this was all because of these clothes. She was about to speak, but she glanced at the red door closed behind her. A blind person’s hearing would probably be sharper.
She led Su Ming downstairs before speaking.
“What happened? I told you to pick out clothes, how did you choose them?!”
He Shu said, unfolding the clothes and throwing them back at the other party: “Look, these clothes, can you wear them?!”
Su Ming looked at the clothes thrown at her feet. She picked them up and started taking off her own clothes.
He Shu watched her unbuttoning, her initial anger turning into shock: “What are you doing?”
Su Ming was equally surprised: “Boss, didn’t you tell me to wear these clothes?”
He Shu almost spit out a mouthful of old bl00d. Someone even more idiotic than the system had appeared… Couldn’t she understand sarcasm…?
But even if she couldn’t understand, she didn’t need to start undressing without a word.
And these kinds of clothes… she told her to wear them, and she would?
“You listen to my words so readily?”
Su Ming nodded as a matter of course: “Yes.”
He Shu: “Why?”
Su Ming replied even more matter-of-factly: “You are my boss.”
Great, working had made her silly.
Su Ming didn’t know why He Shu was suddenly angry. She had come to He Shu for something.
“Boss, dinner is ready. Would you like to eat?”
“Eat!”
She remembered reading somewhere that people who could still eat even while crying would always survive.
She wanted to live, she would live even if she cried.
When she followed the person to the dining room and saw a table full of delicacies, He Shu’s entire being brightened.
Goodness, who could even cry now? Luxurious, truly luxurious. She could actually have eight dishes all to herself.
He Shu ate until she was stuffed at her first meal in this new world.
After dinner, He Shu strolled in the enormous garden to aid digestion. The night breeze was pleasant. There was only her house on the mountain, quiet and comfortable, and she could overlook the brightly lit city in the distance.
It was truly comfortable. If Qianqian were here, it would be even better. Her dog never had a good life with her, and the biggest garden it had ever been to wasn’t as large as this.
Thinking of dogs… He Shu inexplicably thought of the person in the room…
No more strolling. She should hurry back and read the original novel. Today’s events were clearly very problematic.
Cen Qianyi’s sudden change in demeanor, she didn’t know the reason.
He Shu returned to her room full of doubts.
What was worth being happy about was that although the original owner was somewhat perverted in some aspects, her room was very normal.
The decor was very fresh and simple, perfectly matching He Shu’s aesthetic.
She lay on the bed and began to read the original novel seriously.
She had skimmed through it quickly in the car before, but now she intended to read it thoroughly from the beginning.
The book began by describing the protagonist, Nie Wenyu, detailing how she rose from a rookie agent to a commander in a special department.
As He Shu read, her eyes suddenly lit up.
Nie Wenyu’s first case after her promotion: she was about to catch the person but was a step too late. When she arrived, the arms dealer was already dead.
Nie Wenyu didn’t know who did it, but He Shu did!
It was Cen Qianyi; the assassin code-named ‘Yi’ was Cen Qianyi!
Indeed, there’s a way to save your life in books!
He Shu thought of a plan: she could find Nie Wenyu early, tell her that Cen Qianyi was Yi, and have her arrest the person sooner. Wouldn’t that be better?
How clever!
The more He Shu thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. The problem now was how to contact Nie Wenyu and how to make her believe her.
He Shu continued reading while thinking, and eventually fell asleep.
Perhaps it was because she had died from staying up late and was already sleep-deprived, or perhaps because she had experienced so much today, draining her mental energy.
He Shu quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Night fell, and the entire West Mountain became quiet. Animals, too, had returned to their dens to rest.
Of course, there were also nocturnal animals. As night deepened, it was time for them to emerge.
Cen Qianyi carefully opened the door, her steps as light as a cat’s, making no sound at all.
Her muscle strength hadn’t fully recovered; she still needed to lean against the wall for support. She carefully moved along the wall, using the moonlight to discern the room’s interior.
Her gaze swept over the clothes on the mannequins. The outfit the woman had tried to make her wear was prominently displayed on one of them.
Such ‘clothes’ were not just one…
Cen Qianyi’s eyes were colder than the moonlight. She leaned against the glass cabinet door and walked forward, examining each cabinet.
There were quite a few patterns… Cen Qianyi stopped in front of one cabinet, a metallic glint flashing in her eyes.
She softly opened the cabinet door, picked up a black leather collar, tugged at the chain attached to it, and a slight curve appeared on her lips.
Wrapping the chain around her hand, Cen Qianyi continued forward, leaning against the wall, and opened another door…
Moonlight streamed in, casting long, mottled shadows on the wall.
Slender fingers curled into a sharp arc, gradually moving downward, resting against the throat that gently rose and fell with each breath.
With just a slight flick, the night would gain a most captivating splash of crimson.
“Stop it, Qianqian.”
He Shu grabbed the hand that was causing mischief on her neck, pulled the person into a forceful hug, turned, and then pressed her leg across.
All in one fluid motion, a practiced ease.
“Play tomorrow, little dog needs to sleep early.”
