The Entire Harem has Transmigrated - Chapter 33
Ruan Qingqing possessed a natural ability to infect others with her emotions. Watching her splash and frolic in the water, Fu Yeqiu couldn’t help but smile.
Despite a rocky start, the three of them ended up having a wonderful time.
Back in their suite, Fu Yeqiu ordered a lavish meal. After they finished eating, Ruan Qingqing settled on the sofa and turned on the TV.
The news was reporting on a wealthy second-generation heir who had turned himself in. Ye Shiyu glanced at the screen and remarked, “I saw this online yesterday.”
The heir had been luring young girls with luxury cars and expensive watches. Once they got into his car, he would drive them to secluded locations and force himself on them. Though his crimes had been exposed before, the cases had always fizzled out.
“Two days ago, this scum claimed he’d seen a ghost and ran into the police station in a panic, confessing everything and even handing over the evidence. It’s truly the Heavenly Dao’s karmic cycle,” Ye Shiyu said, then turned to Ruan Qingqing, who was deep in thought. Suddenly, realization dawned on her. “Qingqing, this wouldn’t have anything to do with you, would it?”
Ruan Qingqing nodded.
Calmly, she replied, “I was in his car that night when I went to the Qian Family Old Residence.”
Ye Shiyu immediately grabbed her hand, asking anxiously, “Did he hurt you?”
Fu Yeqiu turned her head at the question, only to hear Ruan Qingqing laugh at Ye Shiyu, “Are you joking? Even back in the Qian Dynasty, I could easily handle a useless man like him. Now that I’m even stronger, he couldn’t possibly harm me.”
Fu Yeqiu sat down on the other side of the sofa, cupped Ruan Qingqing’s cheeks, and said with rare severity, “This is reckless, Qingqing. You should have told me you were going out tonight. Even if I’m busy, I can always find someone reliable to escort you.”
Ruan Qingqing pulled Fu Yeqiu’s hands away, reassuring her, “I’ve been practicing riding and archery since childhood. Even if I’m not as skilled in martial arts as Qianxuan, I’m still quite capable. Besides, with my knowledge of Metaphysics, I’m hardly in any danger.”
As Fu Yeqiu and Ye Shiyu were about to protest further, Ruan Qingqing pouted, “I was doing a good deed! If I hadn’t intervened, who knows how many more girls he might have harmed? Why won’t you let me do something that accumulates merit and benefits society?”
“It’s not that we don’t want you to do good deeds,” Ye Shiyu said, pinching Ruan Qingqing’s ear and grinding her teeth. “It’s just, Qingqing, your own safety is what matters most.”
“You just don’t believe I’m capable,” Ruan Qingqing grumbled, rubbing her ear. “You think I’m weak, pitiful, and helpless, unable to handle even an ordinary man.”
Ye Shiyu fell silent.
Ruan Qingqing turned to Fu Yeqiu. “Qiuqiu, do you think the same?”
“I…” Fu Yeqiu hesitated, seeing Ruan Qingqing’s hurt and angry expression. She quickly changed her tone. “I believe our Qingqing is very capable. But promise me you’ll take me with you when you go out at night, okay?”
Ruan Qingqing pondered for a moment, then blinked. “I’m leaving at 3 a.m. tomorrow. Are you really coming with me?”
Fu Yeqiu ruffled her hair and smiled. “Yes.”
Ruan Qingqing continued, “We’re going to help two ghosts pass on, Qiuqiu. Are you scared?”
Her almond-shaped eyes sparkled with mischief and anticipation. Fu Yeqiu understood her unspoken challenge. “What if I am scared?”
Ruan Qingqing beamed, puffing out her chest. “If you’re scared, just stand behind me. I’ll protect you.”
Fu Yeqiu sighed inwardly, lowering her voice as if coaxing a child. “Then I definitely have to go. I want to see how you plan to protect me.”
With Fu Yeqiu going, Ye Shiyu naturally couldn’t be left behind.
Everyone went to bed early, and when the alarm rang at 3 AM, they got up, packed their things, and left.
The method for guiding spirits to the afterlife wasn’t complicated. First, find a suitable time and place, then sincerely chant Buddhist scriptures for the two ghosts to send them into reincarnation.
Fu Yeqiu saw the ghosts clearly for the first time, but they didn’t frighten her.
The two ghosts were remarkably well-behaved in Ruan Qingqing’s presence, acting properly and honestly, without a single improper action.
Ruan Qingqing calmly chatted with them, asking if they had any lingering wishes.
Fu Yeqiu couldn’t help but fix her gaze on Ruan Qingqing.
Ye Shiyu walked over and said, “It’s strange. In our previous life, Your Majesty favored Metaphysical Sect arts but wasn’t particularly skilled in them.”
Fu Yeqiu lowered her eyes slightly, offering no response.
Ye Shiyu continued, puzzled, “Why is she so proficient now? Could Jiang Li have taught her?”
Fu Yeqiu remained silent.
She approached Ruan Qingqing, took her hand, and asked if she was cold. Ruan Qingqing withdrew her hand, shook her head, and said she wasn’t cold before resuming her task.
Fu Yeqiu lowered her phoenix eyes, concealing the complex, murky emotions within.
Yet she couldn’t help but dwell on Ye Shiyu’s earlier words.
Could Jiang Li have taught her that?
Ruan Qingqing had vanished without a trace years ago, leaving no one knowing where she had gone. What had transpired between Ruan Qingqing and Jiang Li during that time when Fu Yeqiu wasn’t present?
Fu Yeqiu dared not imagine.
She knew she needed to accelerate her plans, to finally claim her Little Majesty completely.
Fortunately, they were heading to Z City soon.
There, Jiang Li wouldn’t be present; only Fu Yeqiu would be by Ruan Qingqing’s side.
The Ghost Girl who had frightened the wealthy second-generation heir still hesitated. After Ruan Qingqing’s encouragement, she timidly voiced her desire to visit her home.
“Then let’s go home and see them! We still have time,” Ruan Qingqing said, pulling her along.
But the Ghost Girl remained floating in place, her voice hesitant. “Will my parents be scared if they see me?”
Ruan Qingqing looked puzzled. “Why would you think that?”
The Ghost Girl lowered her head. “Because… most people are afraid of ghosts. Besides, I’ve let my parents down…”
“Don’t say such things,” Ruan Qingqing said, patting her head reassuringly. “Only those with ghosts in their hearts fear ghosts. If your parents truly love you, they’ll be overjoyed to see you, not terrified.”
Ghost Girl was persuaded.
The other driver’s final wish was to drive one last time. Ruan Qingqing calculated with her fingers and discovered that the wealthy second-generation heir had already been released on bail through connections. She patted the driver’s shoulder, her smile radiant. “I’ve found you a host. You can borrow his body to drive.”
The driver happily floated away.
Ruan Qingqing didn’t follow the driver. Instead, she escorted Ghost Girl home. After becoming a ghost, one’s appearance inevitably deteriorates, but even so, when Ghost Girl’s parents saw her, they showed no fear or panic. Instead, they rushed forward to embrace her.
The family huddled together, bidding their final farewells. Though separated by the divide between the living and the dead, the scene was overwhelmingly tender.
As Ruan Qingqing watched, her eyes began to redden.
“It’s so wonderful to have family,” she murmured, her voice choked with emotion.
Ye Shiyu draped an arm around Ruan Qingqing’s shoulders, gently swaying her. “We’re your family too,” she said softly.
“Mm,” Ruan Qingqing nodded, her eyes misty but her voice firm. “You are my family.”
After Ghost Girl parted ways with her family, the driver finished his shift and returned to the ritual site on time.
Bathed in the soft glow of dawn, Ruan Qingqing clasped her hands together and chanted Sanskrit verses for them.
“Na muo yi… ya nuo yi…”
The melody she sang was unfamiliar to Fu Yeqiu and Ye Shiyu, but they could see golden light flowing from her palms, scattering outward to land on the shoulders of the two ghosts.
The ghosts waved goodbye to Ruan Qingqing, expressed their gratitude, and then, one after the other, merged into the morning light and vanished.
As the crimson sun rose in the east, its warm rays poured down upon Ruan Qingqing’s head, illuminating her delicate skin until it seemed almost translucent, even revealing the fine downy hairs on her cheeks.
Ruan Qingqing opened her eyes and gazed toward the sun. “It’s dawn,” she murmured.
When no one responded, she turned her head and realized Fu Yeqiu and Ye Shiyu were staring at her, their eyes filled with fascination.
“Why… why are you looking at me like that?” Ruan Qingqing asked, flustered.
“It’s nothing,” Fu Yeqiu said, reacting first. She casually put her arm around Ruan Qingqing’s shoulder and led her away. “We should go pack. After all, we’re heading to Z City today.”
They were indeed going to Z City.
Before leaving, Ruan Qingqing visited Bai Xiulian one last time.
The still-elegant ghost bowed respectfully upon seeing her, expressing gratitude for the “great master’s act of rebirth” that had given her the chance to resolve her lingering regrets.
“What do you plan to do?” Ruan Qingqing asked.
“This is a society governed by law,” Bai Xiulian replied, materializing briefly to scare Qian Shengjin half to death before drifting down to address Ruan Qingqing. “Of course, I’ll rely on the laws of this era to bring closure.”
“Do you want him to confess?” Ruan Qingqing asked.
Bai Xiulian smiled. “I want him to publicly confess his crimes, submit to justice, and apologize to me.”
“Good,” Ruan Qingqing said, fully supportive. “He also tampered with my friend’s car, nearly causing an accident. That’s part of why I’m backing you.”
Bai Xiulian vowed, “I’ll help your friend get revenge too.”
Ruan Qingqing smiled. “Then thank you.”
With Fu Yeqiu and Ye Shiyu taking care of everything, Ruan Qingqing only needed to follow them onto the plane.
Still, it was her first time flying, and Ruan Qingqing couldn’t help but be amazed.
Fu Yeqiu had cunningly chosen a window seat for herself. When Ruan Qingqing leaned over to peer out the window, Fu Yeqiu casually asked, “Want to switch seats with me?”
Ruan Qingqing, of course, couldn’t refuse and even hugged Fu Yeqiu’s arm, declaring how kind she was.
As the plane slowly ascended, they grew farther and farther from South City.
Ruan Qingqing cast one last glance toward the Jiang Family’s direction, her eyes betraying a hint of melancholy.
In her previous life, she and Jiang Li had rarely been apart. Now, the time they spent together felt precious and fleeting.
“I will definitely, definitely help you retrieve your fragmented soul… When that happens…” Ruan Qingqing murmured to herself, leaning back against the comfortable seat. Before long, she drifted off to sleep.
Fu Yeqiu adjusted her position for comfort and draped a thin blanket over her.
“Sleep well,” she whispered.
April arrived swiftly.
Blue waves rippled on the lake, while willows along the shore were lush green and peach blossoms bloomed in vibrant pink.
After resting for two days in Z City, Ruan Qingqing ventured out alone to find a spot under the overpass, intending to set up a fortune-telling stall.
Before she could even settle in, she spotted a familiar face among the other fortune-tellers.
Thinking she might be mistaken, Ruan Qingqing hesitated, stepping back and rubbing her eyes vigorously.
“Miss,” the woman dressed in men’s clothing, wearing round sunglasses, asked with a mischievous grin as she adjusted her fake mustache, “are you here for a wealth reading? Or perhaps a love fortune?”
Confirming she wasn’t mistaken, Ruan Qingqing yanked off the woman’s mustache and sunglasses, then threw herself into her arms, exclaiming, “Master! How did you become so young?”
