- Chapter 3 - The Reluctant Benefactor
What a life of sorrow. It’s one thing to transmigrate, but another to still have to go to school.
Mo Beiyi sat in the backseat with a deadpan expression, trying her best not to look at Gu Xiyi next to her and focusing on the view outside the window.
She had to admit, the galactic era was very different from her 21st-century life. There were all kinds of bizarre flying cars and motorcycles, and some people were even riding on strange hoverboards. The futuristic high-rises were everywhere, and holographic advertisements were impossible to look away from.
Look… look away… Mo Beiyi forced her gaze away from Gu Xiyi again. She didn’t understand. Although the female lead was beautiful, she was straight in her previous life. How, how could she be so captivated by just a little beauty?
So she convinced herself once more and moved her eyes away from Gu Xiyi.
Gu Xiyi knew Mo Beiyi was stealing glances at her, but it was nothing new, and she was used to it. Still, Mo Beiyi seemed a little strange today. She glanced at her but didn’t pay much attention, instead, she focused on the book in her hands.
Neither of them saw the look of relief on the housekeeper’s face in the driver’s seat.
Even though the second young lady had a mischievous personality, their relationship probably wasn’t as bad as it seemed.
The car arrived at the school quickly.
“Whew…” Mo Beiyi sighed in relief. God knows how stressed she was riding in the same car as Gu Xiyi. It must be that “female lead halo” effect; just sitting next to her made her mind wander.
They weren’t in the same classroom, so after getting out of the car, Mo Beiyi said hello and quickly slipped away.
Gu Xiyi was left standing there, staring at Mo Beiyi’s retreating back for a moment.
Mo Beiyi usually just got out of the car and left.
She didn’t think much of it and turned to go to her own classroom.
Though from the same family, their grades were worlds apart—one was first in her grade, the other was last. Naturally, they were placed in different classes.
Mo Beiyi was back to her deadpan expression on her chair.
What was she going to do? She couldn’t understand a single thing the teacher was saying!
While the laws of physics weren’t much different between the two worlds, the galactic era’s advanced technology meant its knowledge system was light-years ahead of the 21st century. Her former self was a humanities student, and the little high school knowledge she had left was only on a primary school level in this world…
Has society become so competitive?
Mo Beiyi sighed inwardly, put down her books, and simply rested her head on the desk to sleep.
She had to admit, even in a different world, the physics teacher’s voice was still an effective sleep aid.
Her class, Senior 9, was full of struggling students and troublemakers. Because of their noble backgrounds, the teachers didn’t bother to discipline them. Sleeping and skipping class were the norm, so Mo Beiyi didn’t stand out.
That nap was a truly comfortable one.
By the time she woke up, it was already noon. Most of the students had gone to eat, with only a few remaining in the classroom.
Mo Beiyi stayed at her desk. It wasn’t that she wasn’t hungry; she just didn’t know where the cafeteria was.
The previous owner of this body had never gone to the cafeteria. Every day, she would climb over the wall to go eat and drink with her bad friends.
Should I ask someone?
While she was still contemplating, she heard a quiet conversation.
“I heard Chu Xuan confessed to Gu Xiyi today.”
“No way, really? I can’t believe my dream Alpha already belongs to someone else.”
Both of them kept their voices down, knowing there was someone in the back of the class they shouldn’t mess with.
Mo Beiyi’s eye twitched. Chu Xuan… wasn’t he the son of the richest man?
What a melodramatic confession scene… So she had transmigrated to the very beginning of this novel.
She also knew that Chu Xuan would get rejected, but he would corner Gu Xiyi in the bathroom after class, and then… according to the erotic novel’s plot, whatever was supposed to happen would happen.
Even though it was lunchtime, why was the hallway so empty? Weren’t the students in the gifted classes supposed to be studying maniacs?
Mo Beiyi stood in the third-floor hallway, looking at the empty classrooms. Her plan to find someone to “accidentally stumble upon” them fell through.
Fine, consider this payback for Gu Xiyi rubbing her tail.
Besides… this was a crime. If she didn’t know, it would be one thing. But now that she did, Mo Beiyi couldn’t just stand by. No matter who it was, she would have tried to save them.
In this world, Omegas were always the weaker s3x and were usually at a disadvantage in an AO relationship. An Omega could only accept one mark in her life, while an Alpha could mark many. Also, after being marked, an Omega found it very difficult to refuse an Alpha’s commands. The law, which was made by Alphas, wouldn’t even convict an Alpha for forcibly marking an Omega because a marked Omega would die without that Alpha. Even if unwilling, she would have no choice but to marry him.
A technology to remove a mark also existed, but it was forbidden in the empire.
In the novel, after the female lead was forcibly marked, she and Chu Xuan started having s3x in all sorts of places, at all different times, and in every position… Even if the female lead was unwilling at first, she would eventually succumb to the Alpha’s pheromones.
Although it was thrilling to read, the thought of it now made Mo Beiyi’s skin crawl.
She stopped hesitating and stepped into the Omega’s restroom.
Only the door to the utility closet was closed. Mo Beiyi’s hearing was excellent, and she could hear the rustling of clothes and subtle whimpering clearly.
An unnamed rage surged through her. A force compelled Mo Beiyi to yank open the locked door.
She saw Gu Xiyi with tear-streaked cheeks, her mouth covered, struggling to break free.
“Who are you?!”
Chu Xuan turned around, his clothes disheveled and his eyes bloodshot, completely devoid of his usual gentlemanly demeanor. When he saw that it was an Alpha who had interrupted them, his Alpha instincts kicked in, and he swung a fist at the stranger.
Mo Beiyi hadn’t expected him to resort to violence so quickly. His appearance had startled her, and she didn’t react in time, taking a solid punch to the face.
That single punch knocked her out of her senses. The rising anger and competitive spirit drove her to fight back, and she soon started brawling with Chu Xuan.
Logically, this should have been a one-sided beating. But in her past life, Mo Beiyi was a weak scholar who couldn’t even stand to watch a chicken get slaughtered, let alone fight. If it weren’t for the dragon’s thick skin and innate strength, she would have been beaten to a pulp.
Fortunately, even though Chu Xuan had some combat training, he was a spoiled young master. He was quickly pinned down by Mo Beiyi and punched with her superior strength.
“Do you know who I am?! You fvck…”
Chu Xuan’s face was swollen like a pig’s head, and he was still yelling defiantly, but before he could finish, Mo Beiyi punched him again.
“Do you know who I am? I’m your grandma!”
Seeing that Chu Xuan had passed out, Mo Beiyi kicked him a few more times before finally feeling a little better and getting up.
But when she turned to look at Gu Xiyi, her heart suddenly sank.
