- Chapter 5 - Mo Beiyi's Sudden Decline
“Okay, good, I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
The second young lady had caused trouble at school again. The housekeeper sighed.
But it was no longer a rare event for Mo Beiyi to get into fights.
And she heard the teacher say that this time, it seemed to be because of the eldest young lady. This made the housekeeper feel much better. She knew that even though the two young masters seemed to have a bad relationship, they actually cared about each other very much.
Thinking about this, she felt much better.

“I already told you, I heard someone crying in the bathroom, so I went in to see if they needed help. Then this person came in and punched me for no reason.”
Chu Xuan said indignantly.
He had been awake for a while, and medicine had been applied to his face, but it was still swollen beyond recognition. He looked at Mo Beiyi with a menacing glare. The memory of being pinned to the ground and beaten was still vivid, and his face seemed to throb with pain.
Mo Beiyi couldn’t believe how shameless Chu Xuan was. To make matters worse, Gu Xiyi was still in the nurse’s office getting medicine, and the teachers all looked like they didn’t believe her.
Why? Because “Mo Beiyi” had a notorious reputation, while Chu Xuan was an excellent student in the teachers’ eyes.
“Teacher, he’s lying.”
Gu Xiyi walked into the office at that moment. Her left wrist was bandaged, and she looked exhausted.
“Chu Xuan deliberately cornered me in the bathroom and forced me by releasing his pheromones.”
Gu Xiyi’s words were more credible. The teachers’ expressions quickly became serious. There were no cameras in the bathroom, and with two people telling different stories, it was impossible to make a quick judgment.
If Gu Xiyi was telling the truth, it was a very serious matter.
Although the status of Omegas was low in the Empire, due to their rarity and importance, and the booming equality movements over the years, the Empire had established some protective laws for Omegas. If a marking was successful, they could get away with just calling it “mutual consent,” but if it was attempted rape, it was a very serious crime.
An adult Alpha would face up to twenty years in prison and a hefty fine. Minors would be sent to a detention center and have a record. No company or business would hire a rapist, which would ruin their future.
Chu Xuan couldn’t handle this. No university would accept a student with such a punishment, and it would be a huge scandal for the Chu Group.
The teachers couldn’t make a decision, so they decided to wait for the parents and the principal to arrive.
Half an hour later, everyone had arrived.
But just because everyone was there didn’t mean the matter was resolved.
Chu Xuan’s father, Chu Cheng, naturally defended his son, insisting that his son had an upright character and would never do something like force an Omega.
“My son is so outstanding. So many Omegas like him. Why would he ever force you?”
Chu Cheng had a fake smile on his face, but his words were full of sarcasm.
Bai Jiang, the housekeeper, was not one to be trifled with. She brazenly looked Chu Xuan up and down and let out a cold laugh. “Your son’s ‘outstanding’ appearance is truly astonishing. Perhaps some Omegas just have unique tastes.”
As the richest man in the Empire, Chu Cheng’s commanding presence was intimidating. Several teachers next to him lowered their heads, afraid to make eye contact. But Bai Jiang had been old man Gu’s deputy and had climbed out of a pile of dead bodies. She wasn’t afraid of this middle-aged man. The two of them argued back and forth, each trying to tear the other’s child apart.
But the final result was unsatisfactory. Since there was no surveillance footage, there was no way to prove who was lying. However, the two Alphas fighting was a fact. The principal came up with a compromise: Chu Xuan had to apologize to Gu Xiyi, and Mo Beiyi had to apologize to Chu Xuan. Both of them would be sent home for three days of reflection and would have to write a three-thousand-word self-critique.
Although it was only afternoon, given Gu Xiyi’s poor state, Bai Jiang decided to take them home first.
“What bad luck.” Mo Beiyi kicked a rock on the road. She was completely dissatisfied with the outcome.
If she hadn’t come, Chu Xuan would have succeeded, right? But even though she came, she only managed to stop it from happening. Chu Xuan still got off without any serious punishment.
From beginning to end, no matter what, only Gu Xiyi was hurt.
“Don’t be angry,” Gu Xiyi said, patting her head to comfort her.
“I’m not angry. You’re not even angry, so what do I have to be angry about?”
Mo Beiyi swatted Gu Xiyi’s hand away. After all, she was almost thirty mentally. How could she let a young girl pat her head? It was also frustrating that Gu Xiyi was “a tiny bit” taller than her. She was supposed to be the Alpha.
It’s okay. A dragon’s growth cycle is long. When she gets older, she’ll be taller than Gu Xiyi. She comforted herself mentally.
Bai Jiang walked ahead, secretly watching their interaction. She was relieved, thinking, Their relationship really is good after all!
Once they got home, Bai Jiang told them to wait in the living room for the family doctor. She had to call General Gu to report the situation.
After all, this time it wasn’t just Mo Beiyi who got into a fight; Gu Xiyi was hurt, too.
God, this is so embarrassing. Mo Beiyi turned on the TV. As soon as she sat down, she started recalling what happened earlier. Not to mention all the messy stuff that happened just two days after she arrived, the moment she fell to her knees in front of Gu Xiyi was the most mortifying moment of the year. Don’t get her wrong, Gu Xiyi was scared, but Mo Beiyi was so mortified that she wanted to slap herself to death.
Mo Beiyi later learned that suppressants had side effects. They made a person weak and powerless for a while after being injected. Combined with all the running she did, it was normal for her to be exhausted. It was her fault for not reading the precautions specially marked on the medicine vial.
The family doctor arrived a moment later. He put new medicine on Gu Xiyi’s left wrist and re-bandaged it. Then, he prepared to treat Mo Beiyi.
After all the punches she took, the left side of Mo Beiyi’s face was pretty swollen.
“I’ll do it,” Gu Xiyi said, taking the medicine.
The doctor didn’t object. He took out a few more bottles of medicine, explained how to use them, then packed his things and left discreetly.
“I can do it myself.”
Mo Beiyi had a belated realization. She seemed to have offended one of the female lead’s future partners. Now, letting the female lead put medicine on her face might shorten her lifespan…
“Just think of it as a thank you for saving me earlier,” Gu Xiyi said, making it impossible for Mo Beiyi to refuse.
She didn’t want this either, but the female lead’s expression was so gentle, her hands were so soft, and she smelled so good.
Mo Beiyi’s old face flushed red. She thought to herself, Why do I keep having these perverted thoughts? Thankfully, her face was already red and swollen from the beating, so Gu Xiyi couldn’t tell.
Mo Beiyi was in a daze while Gu Xiyi was observing her.
Even with half her face swollen, it didn’t affect her overall appearance. Although she was sixteen, aside from growing taller, Mo Beiyi’s face still looked too immature. Although the sharpness of an Alpha was beginning to show in her eyebrows and eyes, her face was still a bit round, and she hadn’t shed all her childishness.
Gu Xiyi suddenly realized she hadn’t really paid close attention to Mo Beiyi for a long time. Ever since middle school, Mo Beiyi had gradually distanced herself from her. She was unwilling to communicate with her but never showed any outright disgust.
It seemed that all this time, their interactions were limited to Gu Xiyi scolding her whenever Mo Beiyi got into trouble. Thinking about this, Gu Xiyi started to feel guilty. She hadn’t seriously tried to understand Mo Beiyi’s thoughts and just lectured her. No wonder Mo Beiyi was becoming less and less willing to be close to her.
Perhaps she should try a different approach.
