- Episode 1 - Reincarnation, And Then...
“……Hmm?”
Suddenly, I realize.
Is this possibly the world of a game?
As usual, while I was eating alone in the vast cafeteria, I suddenly started to remember. Oh, what is this? It’s amazing. Various pieces of information are racing through my mind. All of it is becoming familiar and understood by my current body.
This is probably the world of the game I loved, “7th FANTAS”, abbreviated as “Sebufan”. It is a classic RPG where seven unique protagonists grow while weaving their own stories and eventually save the world. The stories of the seven characters intertwine in a complex manner, featuring conflicts and cooperation, the nurturing of friendship and love, and developments that make you cry, laugh, and feel the heat—it’s a magnificent masterpiece.
The most distinctive feature of this game, I think, is the vast amount of text and choices. Players can switch between the seven protagonists at any time they like, but the other protagonists who are not being controlled will act automatically based on their inherent traits and previous choices. Therefore, completely different stories unfold depending on the player.
By the way, I got really hooked and played through its multiple times.
“……Hmm.”
Did I reincarnate?
The place I live in is a mansion full of Western fantasy vibes. I think I even saw some magic once. My memory is a bit hazy with this young mind, though.
Yeah, alright. I’ve got the situation under control.
This is the world of the game. The fantasy feel of swords and magic is so exciting, isn’t it?
……Well, it’s about time we face reality.
Why am I not the protagonist!!!
Even though there are seven people!!
This is ridiculous! Who the hell is this guy!!
Well, I do remember the name.
My name is Salifa Greitz. I am the third son of the illustrious Duke family of the Olbraim Empire. I have hardly ever met my family and was raised by the servants. I am a six-year-old child.
The character named Salifa definitely existed, but I can’t remember much about her. The problem lies with the Grietz Duke family.
There are two protagonists from the empire, and there are many common events in both of their stories. They meet at the academy, delve into dungeons, go on expeditions to subdue the beast rampages occurring throughout the empire, and get caught up in civil wars aimed at usurping the throne.
So, well, the mastermind behind the coup to usurp the throne is actually the Duke of Greitz. Totally the villain, huh?
“……Isn’t this checkmate?”
Thanks to the protagonists’ efforts, the civil war ends in failure. If I remember correctly, wasn’t the entire clan wiped out?
Getting caught up in something like that is just way too annoying.
The civil war was supposed to break out right after the protagonists graduated from the academy. I want to somehow avoid a massacre, but this duke’s family has been meticulously preparing with other countries for a long time, so it might already be too late. Besides, the third son, who has been neglected, doesn’t have the power to stop a civil war.
“……Run away?”
Gaining power and seeking asylum in another country might be an option. In another country, maybe they could cooperate with the protagonist and become friends? Oh, I feel like we might actually be able to do this.
Anyway, since the capital will be in ruins because of the demon summoned by the Duke of Greitz during the civil war, if I can escape successfully then…
“…Ah”
This is the worst. I just remembered.
The ritual of summoning a demon conducted by the Grietz Duke family. It’s a cruel magic that involves sacrificing numerous human lives to bring a demon into the world as a vessel…
The vessel is Salifa…!!
I thought I had heard the name before. It was mentioned in the scene where it was revealed that the protagonist’s classmate at the academy had been used as a vessel after they somehow managed to repel the demon. So, does that mean Salifa is around the same age as the protagonist?
Ah, I can’t escape this.
If they’re going to use me as a vessel, I’m definitely being monitored, and even if I tried to escape, I’d probably be caught. Besides, I think there’s a setting where my body is being tampered with to become a vessel for summoning a demon, so I can’t live long.
Somehow, even though I finally got to come to the world of my favorite game, my mood is starting to drop.
At this point, should I save my beloved protagonists who are bound to encounter danger and go out in a blaze of glory?
After all, we’re going to die anyway.
Help the protagonists and beautifully scatter.
The policy has been decided.
The game “Seven Fan” is incredibly interesting, but the difficulty is high. It includes brutal events and tragic episodes throughout, and the protagonists are exposed to numerous dangers. When one protagonist dies, the game switches to another protagonist, and the story continues from there. The dead protagonist obviously does not come back to life, and since it has auto-save, you can’t redo it. The only way to start over is to reset.
For that reason, the value of the protagonists’ lives is high. I don’t want to think that they would easily lose their lives, but if it comes to that, I will use my life to prevent it.
What is necessary for that?
I really want combat power after all. If I’m going to die anyway, I want to die cool, protecting the protagonist. Or I want to let the protagonists escape and say, “Leave this to me.”
If I want to get stronger in this world, I guess training in swordsmanship and magic would be the best, right? Well, I do have someone in mind to teach me. I’ll somehow manage to beg them.
