Chapter 31: Auntie, What Were You Doing in the Car?!
Fu Ru’an ultimately couldn’t bring herself to actually let her lie on the floor for the entire night.
After half an hour, seeing that Ruan Siyi was still squatting by her bed, wide awake with her big, grape-like dewy eyes staring at her, her gaze still full of lingering emotions, she finally couldn’t take it anymore.
“Get up here and sleep.”
Fu Ru’an closed her eyes and snorted coldly in her heart.
It wasn’t as if she was forgiving Ruan Siyi for what she had done to her or all those shameless things she had said.
Even if it had felt really good too.
Right now, she just wanted to get a good night’s sleep—that was the only reason she was allowing Ruan Siyi back into the bed.
Hearing Fu Ru’an’s words, Ruan Siyi’s already sparkling eyes grew even brighter in the darkness, like a puppy who’d just been granted permission by its beloved owner for some cuddles. She let out a loud “Oh!” and practically pounced onto the bed, burrowing under the covers and wrapping her arms around the omega who was still sulking with her back turned.
“Sister—” Ruan Siyi drew out her tone, breathing warm puffs of air by her ear until even the tips of her ears grew hot. “I really know I was wrong, okay?”
“Good that you know.”
Fu Ru’an kept her back to her and opened her eyes again.
The curtains weren’t fully drawn. Through the gap between the two panels, the full moon outside hung round and mirror-like, its faint, gentle light piercing through the thin mist. The sliver of light that slipped through the gap was like a slit cut into the night, quietly spilling over the edge of the bed and onto the slightly tousled strands of her hair, the fragmented shadows trembling softly with each breath.
On the table, the paper-folded butterflies in the small jar seemed to come alive under the moonlight’s kiss, faintly glowing with a soft luster, the creases on their wings casting delicate, wispy shadows.
The city lights were faintly visible, scattered like a river of stars, their cool, pale light quietly spilling in, blurring the line between reality and an unawakened dream.
Another full moon had risen.
Behind her, Ruan Siyi remained wide awake and brimming with excitement, her arms wrapped around her, her hands restless, constantly wandering over her lower abdomen.
“But, sister… we haven’t even used any of those ‘gifts’ that were sent over before…” Ruan Siyi, still unwilling to let it go, murmured persistently in her ear. “After all, they were kindly sent to us—wouldn’t it be a waste not to use them?”
“Besides, sister’s reaction yesterday was even more intense than all the previous times—”
Ruan Siyi deployed every debate technique she had ever learned, attempting to use examples and comparisons to prove her point, hoping to persuade Fu Ru’an to accept her sincere suggestion.
“Sister, don’t you just love playing around like this…?”
What absolute nonsense—pure sophistry.
In her over twenty years of life, Fu Ru’an had never heard anyone try to convince her with such a tangled mess of logic and words.
She remained silent for a long moment before finally speaking slowly, “Ruan Ruan.”
Caught off guard by the sudden address, Ruan Siyi—still lost in her delightful fantasies—felt an inexplicable pang of guilt and responded meekly, “What is it, Sister Fu?”
Was she about to be kicked off the bed again?!
Please, no!!!
Gazing out at the deep night beyond the window, Fu Ru’an unhurriedly dropped a bombshell on the noisy little troublemaker:
“My mother wants to meet you.”
To Ruan Siyi, the impact of these words was no less shocking than being told she had to spend billions to run for U.S. president.
The chattering Ruan Siyi suddenly shut her mouth, her eyes widening like copper bells.
Who wanted to see her?!
Fu Ru’an’s mother… didn’t that mean she was going to meet the parents?!
The current head of the Fu family—Fu Yunxi—who had a relationship with Fu Ru’an so icy it was practically frozen and who utterly despised her, the useless little good-for-nothing Alpha?!
Ruan Siyi felt her heart skip a beat, her bl00d seeming to freeze in her veins instantly. The words “meet the parents” echoed and magnified in her mind, like a thunderclap exploding in her ears. She barely managed to maintain a semblance of composure on the surface, the stiff smile on her face nearly cracking apart, while inside, she was already in turmoil.
Wait… didn’t Fu Yunxi hate her? Why would she want to see her now?
Could it be that her life and career had been so rough lately that she needed a punching bag to vent her frustrations?
Life has tried to pound me repeatedly, but my flesh has somehow become chewy and resilient…
After a while, she finally heard Fu Ru’an casually drop another bombshell.
“To be precise, it’s not just her.”
“The Fu family wants to meet the future heir’s spouse.”
Ruan Siyi finally quieted down, but she also knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep anymore.
“When?”
At least let her prepare for her impending doom.
“Tomorrow happens to be a day when neither of us has work, so let’s go back to the old mansion tomorrow.”
Fu Ru’an was clearly the efficiency type.
Ruan Siyi began to regret why she couldn’t just shut up and go to sleep as soon as she got into bed.
Why did she have to keep yapping nonstop?
Ruan Siyi, did you really have to flap your mouth?
You totally deserve this “blessing.”
Fu Ru’an, seeing her fall silent, realized it was indeed a bit sudden.
She wasn’t very good at comforting people, so she resorted to the simplest and most straightforward method.
“Ruan Ruan, if you come home with me tomorrow, I’ll give you a bonus. How many digits do you want?”
Ruan Siyi finally realized that they were still in a contractual marriage for the time being.
But after all the this and that they’d been through, she felt there wasn’t much difference between them and a real married couple.
—Who wouldn’t think she was Fu Ru’an’s one and only wife when they saw her?
“Sister Fu… I don’t want money…”
She felt it was absolutely necessary to correct her previous image in Fu Ru’an’s eyes—that of someone who’d bent her principles for a monthly salary of millions.
Fu Ru’an paused. “You can pick any one of the toys from those boxes to play with me.”
Ruan Siyi: “Understood, boss. Copy that.”
She was no longer the little alpha who’d compromised for money. Now, Little Ruan was determined to be a pleasure-seeking empress.
My dear concubine Fu, wait for me. Once I return triumphant from the old mansion, I’ll make sure to properly dote on you.
Even as she sat in the car heading toward the Fu family’s ancestral home, Ruan Siyi’s heart felt light and floaty, as if wrapped in a cloud of pink bubbles. Her mind was completely occupied with thoughts of how she and Fu Ru’an would dine together later.
She felt as though she’d been bewitched, her heart constantly filled with restless emotions that Fu Ru’an could effortlessly tug and pull at, stirring up a heat that threatened to rush straight to her head.
The scenery outside the car window drifted by slowly, and only then did her thoughts gradually retreat from that hazy pink fog and return somewhat to reality.
The Fu family’s ancestral home was a place she had never set foot in before.
She vaguely remembered the novel mentioning that it was an old estate steeped in tradition, where every brick, every tile, and every corridor held generations of the Fu family’s accumulated glory—and indifference.
There, she would no longer just be Ruan Siyi, but an “outsider” appearing as Fu Ru’an’s partner—one who was not truly accepted.
The car smoothly entered the courtyard of the Fu family’s ancestral home. The heavy iron gate slowly swung open under the guard’s watchful eyes, letting in a faint chill.
She took a deep breath. Though her lips still carried a smile, her eyes gradually sharpened, revealing a hint of wary clarity.
Ruan Siyi straightened her back, silently encouraging herself.
No matter what she faced, she had to remain confident and uphold the image of Fu Ru’an’s wife. She couldn’t embarrass Sister Fu—she had to watch her words and actions carefully.
It’s a pity, but her fingers gripping the steering wheel, trembling slightly, ruthlessly betrayed her.
Even after parking the car steadily in the Fu family’s underground garage, this tension still hadn’t eased.
“Nervous?”
Fu Ru’an, sitting in the passenger seat, tilted her head slightly, not missing a single detail.
Ruan Siyi was pulled back to reality by Fu Ru’an’s voice, but the smile on her face remained stiff, not daring to relax even a little.
“Huh? N-no, I’m fine, not nervous.”
She tried to keep her tone light, but the faint tremble in her voice betrayed her lack of confidence.
Fu Ru’an looked at her, the corners of her lips curling slightly, her eyes carrying a hint of teasing, as if she had already seen through her act of bravado. Then, without a word, Fu Ru’an unfastened her seatbelt and leaned in closer.
“Ruan Siyi,” she called softly, her voice low yet gentle, carrying a soothing tone, “there’s no need to be so nervous. I’m here.”
As soon as the words fell, she suddenly lowered her head and pressed a light kiss to Ruan Siyi’s lips.
Ruan Siyi froze, her entire body stiffening as if struck by an electric current, her mind blank.
The omega’s lips were soft and cool, the tender motion carrying an unyielding firmness. Fu Ru’an’s eyelashes lowered, making her seem focused and tender.
It was just a fleeting kiss.
After barely brushing Ruan Siyi’s lips, she straightened up, a satisfied smile flickering in her eyes. “Feel better now?”
Ruan Siyi stared at her dazedly, only snapping back to reality after a long moment.
“What’s wrong, spacing out again—”
Before Fu Ru’an could finish her teasing remark, the next second, the sound of Ruan Siyi’s seatbelt being unfastened with a soft click reached her ears.
The alpha carefully cradled the back of her head with one hand while bracing the other against the car window behind Fu Ru’an, instantly closing the distance between them.
“Sister, this little bit isn’t nearly enough,” she whispered in her ear, like an intimate murmur between lovers.
Then, Ruan Siyi’s lips swiftly pressed against Fu Ru’an’s once more.
Unlike the gentle testing before, she was now noticeably more urgent, her tongue boldly parting Fu Ru’an’s lips, leaving no room for escape.
Fu Ru’an felt an electric current run down her spine. Ruan Siyi’s tongue roamed freely inside her mouth, sliding and teasing from the inside out, occasionally grazing the roof of her mouth, sending waves of tingling pleasure through her.
Their tongues were entwined in a playful push-and-pull, the heat between their lips and teeth steadily rising until the tide of ambiguity completely engulfed them.
Just then, a loud bark suddenly rang out from outside the car.
Ruan Siyi instinctively turned to look out the window, only to lock eyes with a fluffy white Samoyed.
The Samoyed had its entire furry body pressed against the car door, its pitch-black eyes peering curiously through the window. Under the garage lights, its snow-white fur glowed softly, radiating warmth like freshly fallen snow. The dog’s mouth was slightly open, its soft pink tongue lazily hanging out, trembling faintly with each breath, exuding a natural innocence and charm.
Following the bark was the loud shout of a young girl.
“Stupid dog! Where are you running off to? Finally caught you! Hahaha!”
Fu Yuni had chased the Samoyed across half the estate before the dog finally stopped. She wasn’t about to let this golden opportunity slip away.
But when she rushed breathlessly to the car, bracing her hands on her knees as she looked up-
Her eyes widened in shock.
From Fu Yuni’s petite vantage point, she could clearly see her usually cold, untouchable aunt being pinned and kissed by that scoundrel named “Ruan Siyi”—who even had the audacity to stare back at her! With her 2.0-perfect vision, she could even faintly make out their tangled tongues!
The pure-hearted warrior Yuni let out her first scream of the morning.
“Ahhh! You two—this is shameless! Degenerate! Indecent! Depraved! How… how could you do this?!”
Fu Yuni covered her eyes in disbelief, then peeked through her fingers for another glance inside the car.
“Ruan Siyi, you’re a bad dog too! How dare you do such things to my dear auntie! And here I was defending you online—ugh!”
“If I hadn’t just happened to walk by, would the two of you have started making love in the car next?!”
