The Confession of Two People

The rain stopped, and the following day was clear. 

Make haste, good things come to those who act quickly. 

With that thought in mind, I gathered my courage and decided to tell Shizuku something during lunch.

“Shizuku.” 

“What’s up, Haru?” 

“If you have time today, I want you to come with me after school to a place.” 

“Sure. Where?” 

“Behind the school building. I want you to hear something from me there.” 

Shizuku’s face turned red at those words. 

After school, I got ready to leave and made my way to Shizuku. 

She was already ready and said it was fine to go anytime. 

“Shall we go?” 

As we walked, we talked about how, in a sense, this was where it all started for us. 

We headed toward the back of the school building. 

It really might have been the beginning. 

This was the place where she cut ties with Ichijo. 

“I was talking with Yuri-chan, and I realized we must have been misunderstanding each other because we cared so much.” 

“Yeah, and then the whole Ichijo thing caused a big fuss.” 

“That’s why, shouldn’t we talk about all the feelings we’ve been holding on to?” 

“I agree.” 

With that, Shizuku and I decided to express our feelings to each other. 

Shizuku spoke first, sharing her feelings for me. 

She told me how I’d always supported her with a smile, never laughing when she failed and always encouraging her to keep going. 

When she succeeded, I celebrated her victory as if it were my own. 

How I got angry when she was treated poorly. And even when the Ichijo situation made things difficult, I accepted her and let things go. 

She also treasured all the little things, never taking me for granted. And that she didn’t want to let anyone else have me. 

Looking back, I realized how much Shizuku meant to me. 

The realization made me feel a little embarrassed, but in a good way. 

Now it was my turn to express my feelings. 

I told her how dazzling it was to see her work so hard and give everything her all. 

How much she had always understood my feelings. 

How she had taken care of my body because she cared about me. 

And like her, I didn’t want to let anyone else have her. 

Shizuku let out a little laugh, her face turning red. She was probably embarrassed by my words. 

“…….”

“…….”

We fell into silence for a moment. 

But then, with determination, I blushed and confessed. 

“I love you, Shizuku. Please be my girlfriend.” 

“Yes. I want to be with you. Let me say it too.” 

With that, Shizuku confessed to me as well. 

“I love you. Please be my boyfriend.” 

“Yes, let’s be together. I’m looking forward to it.” 

We shared our feelings, and I could see how moved Shizuku was. She suddenly embraced me tightly. 

I returned the hug. 

“It feels so wonderful to be accepted like this…” 

She said, tears welling up in her eyes. But I knew those were happy tears. 

And at that moment, I felt like Shizuku’s smile was finally in full bloom. It was like a beautiful flower finally opening up.
