Cultural Festival Preparations and a Mystery
“We’ll now decide on the class 2-B event.”
The cultural festival. A fun event that can be considered a reward after finishing the midterm exams, was approaching. So, the meeting to decide on 2-B’s event began.
“I don’t want to do anything, so how about a display room that’s basically a break room?”
“Go home, next!”
“A maid café!”
“It’s fine if the men are the maids, next!”
Amidst all the joking, we continued deciding on the event.
In the end, we decided on a “Super Ball Scoop” event. Since kids will be coming, there should be people willing to participate. So it seemed like a safe choice.
(Note:
Super Ball Scooping. If you know from anime, it’s like those goldfish scooping that uses scoops made of paper. The only difference is this one scoops up balls instead of goldfish.
)
To promote the event, we were tasked with painting the signboard.
I was asked to go to the art room and grab the paints and other materials. So I headed there with Shizuku.
“Excuse us. We came to borrow some paints.”
“Sure, you can use what’s over there.”
The art club members had likely anticipated this and had already prepared a large amount of supplies for us.
Shizuku and I took the materials and headed back to the classroom.
Even though it was after school, time passed. And the sun set, darkening the room.
When it was time to return the tools, I went to the art room with Shizuku.
Inside the art room, there were two people—a boy and a girl.
The girl was focused on drawing something. While the boy stood by, watching over her.
“Excuse us, we’re here to return the tools.”
“Sure, just leave them there. I’ll clean up.”
“Thank you. Uh, what are you drawing?”
“A landscape. I can’t forget the scenery I saw during summer break.”
“A landscape, huh…”
“Wait, this… I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before…”
Shizuku looked at the drawing. She was trying to remember where she had seen it.
“Did you forget, Amamiya-san? This is the view we saw when Kanefune-senpai dragged us on that trip.”
“Oh, I remember now! This is the view from the hotel near that cliff!”
I guess she had been dragged along on one of Kanefune-senpai’s trips without realizing it………
I didn’t want to interrupt her while she was drawing, so we decided to leave quickly.
“Well, thank you very much.”
“Thank you. It’s already dark, so be careful on your way back.”
“Thanks, you two should also be careful.”
We said our goodbyes and began our walk home.
On the way back, Shizuku suddenly spoke up.
“Oh, I forgot to mention earlier. The girl we just saw is one of the members of the harem—Nanase Hayaka.”
“She’s the last one, huh?”
“Yeah, but they’re already in a good atmosphere, so she’ll probably leave the group soon.”
“That’s true.”
They had been together, even as it got a little darker.
They must’ve grown close by now.
That said, I had a question.
“Dragged on a trip, you said?”
“Kanefune-senpai said she wanted to deepen our bonds and forced us all to go.
She told me not to worry about the cost since she covered it and even got approval from everyone’s parents.”
“Ha…… Kanefune-senpai, she’s really something else…”
But the fact that everyone got dragged along makes me wonder…….. Was Ichijou there, too? My jealousy started to stir.
“Was Ichijou there too?”
“No, Ichijou-kun wasn’t there.”
“Huh?”
I couldn’t understand Kanefune-senpai’s actions. What does she want to do with all of this?
Shizuku told me something that made me think more about it.
“I was dragged around by Kanefune-senpai all summer, so I didn’t get to see Ichijou-kun even once.”
