Cultural Festival Preparations and Kanefune-Senpai
“Kanefune-senpai dragged everyone around all summer…?”
“Yeah, so Ichijou-kun doesn’t know what we look like in swimsuits.”
I don’t know why, but the first thought that came to mind was, “Serves him right that he couldn’t see them.”
Kanefune-senpai’s actions made no sense. Dragging everyone around for the entire summer seemed strange.
There had to be some kind of intention behind it.
The common factor is that they’re all part of the harem, but what’s the deal with excluding Ichijou?
As I thought about it, I realized I was getting nowhere. After all, the person who set this up is the daughter of a conglomerate.
“Though it’s unlikely, should I just ask her directly?”
“She’ll probably throw a problem at you.”
Yeah, I figured.
When I asked her before, she spread her hands and said, ‘What’s the answer to this?”
I still don’t know the correct answer to that one.
—
“I have a question for Kanefune-senpai.”
“Oh? You two coming to me is rare, Shizuku-chan and Higashitani-chan.”
A few days later, I headed to the 3rd-year classroom where Kanefune-senpai was. Shizuku also tagged along.
“Why did you drag Shizuku……no, all the harem members around all summer?”
“Hm? Higashitani-chan is curious about a maiden’s secret?”
Her smug grin made it harder for me to ask, so I wished she’d stop.
“Well, setting that aside… here, this is for you.”
She held out her phone screen toward me.
If I wanted to know, I had to solve a problem.
This time, it was a fish… What kind of fish? I know, but I’ll ask anyway.
“Just to confirm, this is a sea bream, right?”
“Technically, it’s a red sea bream.”
Wait, what kind of answer was Kanefune-senpai expecting?
Around us, the other senpai were also thinking about the problem during their break.
But as expected, they gave up and returned to their tasks.
A bit quick to give up, right? I get it, though.
“…Shizuku, did you figure it out?”
“…Is it because you want to eat sashimi or something?”
“Wrong! Boo!
If it’s not because you want sashimi, then what is it?
“Well, that was a bit too mean. I’ll give you a hint. *The grass that killed my brother*.”
With that, Kanefune-senpai returned to her work.
I shouldn’t be rude, but I’m actually surprised Kanefune-senpai is doing work herself.
Then, Kanefune-senpai returned.
“When you look at me with such intense eyes, it makes me blush too~”
She was teasing, but it annoyed me. I also didn’t want Shizuku to misunderstand, so I decided to make it clear.
“Sorry, I don’t look at anyone else that way except for Shizuku.”
“You can actually say that to a lady like me…?”
She seemed taken aback when I answered so straightforwardly. It was probably because she had been teasing me.
By the way, on the way back, Shizuku grabbed my hand and swung it back and forth.
—
“The hint is a bit ominous…”
“Yeah, it’s so like Kanefune-senpai.”
Shizuku and I went back to our classroom, continuing with our work.
We were painting the sign for our Super Ball Scooping event.
We had to decide where to place the water station, and how to give rewards based on how many balls people scooped.
Even those who got zero balls would get a consolation prize.
We tested the difficulty with some small items and were finalizing everything as we got ready for the festival.

Only a little more until the cultural festival!
