- Chapter 26 - Don’t Hurt Her (2)
“Your background? It has to be clean. No one of unknown origin can stay by your side that’s the rule.”
The faint smile on Ning Shu’s face faded, her eyes turning cold as she looked at Wu Yin. “Who made this rule?”
Wu Yin was caught off guard. There had never been such a rule before. But he worried that someone with ill intentions might get close to Ning Shu, so even if she was unhappy, he had to stop it.
Resolute, Wu Yin stood in front of Ning Shu, blocking her path. Frustration welled up inside her, a primal, instinctive aggression stirring her killing instinct. If it weren’t for Li Xiao’s intervention, she would have struck Wu Yin.
Li Xiao stepped forward, standing beside Ning Shu, holding her hand and rubbing her palm gently, trying to calm her.
“Wu Dharma Protector, you must have suspected my identity already. There’s no need for me to hide it anymore.”
Li Xiao removed the veil, revealing her face marked with black scars. Wu Yin froze for a moment, then his expression hardened. In his heart, Li Xiao had always been the one who poisoned Ning Shu.
Wu Yin was about to strike, but Mo Shang stopped him. Everyone present knew the significance of Li Xiao to the young palace master. If a fight broke out, it would only put her in danger.
Yet Wu Yin seemed to lose all reason. Ignoring Mo Shang’s warning, he directly attacked Li Xiao. If she hadn’t reacted quickly, her life might have been in danger.
Ning Shu knew that, in her current state, Li Xiao was no match for Wu Yin. Desperate to intervene, she tried to channel her inner energy, but pain shot through every limb and joint, threatening to destroy her.
Seeing Ning Shu struggling, Li Xiao wanted to disengage and check on her, but Wu Yin pressed relentlessly, his moves ruthless, leaving her no room to maneuver.
In that moment of distraction, Li Xiao was struck by a palm from Wu Yin, stumbling several steps back before regaining her balance. Panic surged through her. “Stop! Please, let me check on Shu Shu!”
Wu Yin paid no heed. A fierce gust of palm wind struck again, sending Li Xiao flying, crashing heavily to the ground, bl00d spilling from her mouth but her gaze still fixed on Ning Shu.
Ning Shu was in agony, nearly fainting, her eyes bloodshot as she cried out, “Don’t hurt her!”
She spat a mouthful of bl00d as she spoke. Only then did everyone realize the severity of the situation.
Rong Xue was the first to rush forward, catching the staggering Ning Shu. She placed her hand on Ning Shu’s pulse, her face turning pale. “How… how could this happen?!”
The “Shura” toxin had spread prematurely.
With the last of her consciousness, Ning Shu warned Wu Yin, “Don’t hurt her. If I die… let her go. Do you hear me?”
Wu Yin’s face was filled with guilt. He nodded solemnly.
Ning Shu summoned the last of her strength to glance at Li Xiao once more, then closed her eyes.
“Ning Shu!”
Palace Master.
