The Foolish General's Mute Spouse - Chapter 6
06: The Wedding Night
Fu Yu’an quickly refused, telling Qi Ren to bathe first.
Qi Ren felt a faint sense of disappointment but washed up quickly and emerged completely naked, ready to embrace Fu Yu’an.
Fu Yu’an was busy tidying the bed, arranging the longan and other items, when Qi Ren suddenly hugged him from behind, startling him so much that he felt like his soul had left his body. He thought to himself, Does this fool actually know about consummating the marriage?!
He frantically tried to pry off Qi Ren’s wet arms, turning around to face him, but quickly averted his gaze.
He’s still not wearing any clothes
Qi Ren, radiating heat, let go of him. His well-defined muscles looked even more striking under the candlelight, his facial features sharp and resolute, with a scar on his temple adding a fierce edge to his appearance, exuding an intimidating aura.
“Mother said I should sleep holding you! Without wearing any clothes!”
Fu Yu’an: “…”
He didn’t dare look, slipping behind the screen and returning moments later with a towel, handing it to Qi Ren while avoiding eye contact. “Dry yourself off first, put on some pants before sleeping! You’ll catch a cold if you don’t wear clothes!”
“But Mother said…”
“Then I’ll go sleep in the side room!”
“…Wait, wait! An An, I was wrong, I’ll listen to you!”
Why is he so easy to tease? Qi Ren thought. Sleeping together doesn’t mean doing anything, why is he acting like I’m some kind of predator?
Fu Yu’an finally relaxed, pursed his lips, and went to the wardrobe to fetch a set of undergarments for Qi Ren, instructing him to clear the bed before sleeping.
Qi Ren obediently nodded, sitting on the edge of the bed, peeling a peanut and popping it into his mouth.
Fu Yu’an: “…”
“Don’t eat too much, you’ll get indigestion!” he chided softly.
The bathtub was indeed large. Fu Yu’an dragged out his bath until his fingertips were wrinkled before finally emerging.
Outside, there was no sign of Qi Ren’s presence, likely already asleep.
He breathed a sigh of relief, dressed, and walked over to the bed. The red bed curtains were drawn, and everything inside was quiet.
He sighed softly and lifted the curtain.
Qi Ren was sleeping on the outer side. As the curtain was lifted, the candlelight from outside spilled in, and he suddenly opened his eyes, smiling at Fu Yu’an. “You’re here!”
Fu Yu’an nodded, adjusted his clothes, and carefully climbed into the inner side of the bed to lie down.
The bed curtains were dim, making it hard to see clearly, but Qi Ren, having trained in martial arts for years, had exceptional eyesight.
He could see Fu Yu’an’s face flushed red from the heat, a tear mole under his eye particularly striking. His features, which should have been cold and aloof, instead looked startled when their eyes met, his lips slightly parted, revealing a hint of a crimson tongue, exuding an inexplicable allure.
Qi Ren licked his lips, thinking to himself, Have I been too long without seeing someone attractive? How can I have these thoughts about a man?
He didn’t dwell on it, being used to indulging his whims. Finding Fu Yu’an pleasing in every way, he turned and hugged him from behind.
Fu Yu’an’s body immediately stiffened.
Qi Ren nestled his head against the back of Fu Yu’an’s neck, his warm breath teasing the sensitive skin just bathed.
The person in his arms was soft and small, likely due to a harsh life in the palace. His frame was slight, with little flesh, just enough to fill Qi Ren’s embrace, which he found quite satisfying.
Unable to resist, Qi Ren pressed closer, his body tightening against Fu Yu’an’s. Fu Yu’an’s body grew even stiffer, and after a while, seeing that Qi Ren was still pressing against him, he finally couldn’t take it anymore. He struggled to turn around and pushed Qi Ren back.
“Move away, you’re… you’re poking me…”
Qi Ren was also taken aback and immediately played dumb. “What’s poking you?”
“…”
The question was impossible to answer, but Qi Ren was clearly not going to let it go. He wrapped his arms around Fu Yu’an again, his lips brushing against Fu Yu’an’s forehead as he whispered, “I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable. An An, can you help me? I don’t know how to…”
He was just teasing, but seeing Fu Yu’an’s face turn red as he stammered some excuses, Qi Ren was satisfied. He turned away, pretending to be upset. “Hmph! I’m ignoring you!”
Fu Yu’an barely held back a “Thank goodness!” and after a moment of hesitation, leaned in to comfort him softly, “In a few days… I’ll teach you in a few days, okay?”
His voice carried a pleading tone, and Qi Ren was thoroughly pleased. With this promise, he couldn’t tease Fu Yu’an too much, so he reluctantly grunted and turned back to hug him.
The warm, soft body was back in his arms, and he couldn’t help but let out a satisfied sigh.
This marriage wasn’t in vain. Holding him while sleeping is truly comfortable!
…
The next morning, Fu Yu’an was woken up by Xiao Zhu. Qi Ren was already gone from his side.
He reached over to feel the spot where Qi Ren had slept, but it was completely cold. He had no idea how long the man had been gone.
Xiao Zhu handed him a freshly wrung towel and whispered, “Your Highness, should we go serve tea to the Second Madam?”
Fu Yu’an, having slept poorly, responded groggily, his eyes barely open, clearly not taking the matter to heart.
“Where’s Qi Ren? Where did he go?”
“This… I think he’s in the First Madam’s courtyard?”
Fu Yu’an was startled, abruptly standing up from the chair, though his expression remained calm and indifferent. “Why did he go there?”
Did the First Madam summon him? No, the First Madam wouldn’t dare provoke him now. So what’s going on…
Xiao Zhu didn’t know either, only hearing from the servants that they had seen him at the First Madam’s place. As for why he was there, no one knew.
Fu Yu’an felt a sense of foreboding. He didn’t even bother to dry his face properly before rushing out to find Qi Ren.
Xiao Zhu anxiously grabbed him from behind. “Don’t worry, Your Highness. Let me check the situation first. Right now, we should go serve tea to the Second Madam. If we’re late…”
“Tea-serving requires both of us. Let’s find him first.” Fu Yu’an’s mind was solely on Qi Ren, his thoughts racing, fearing that something might have happened to him.
Although he planned to leave eventually, for now, they were in this together. If that fool caused any trouble, Fu Yu’an would suffer the consequences too!
Besides, Qi Ren had helped him out yesterday. Fu Yu’an, though unused to receiving kindness from others, still understood the principle of repaying favors.
Xiao Zhu couldn’t dissuade him and could only lift her skirt and chase after him.
The First Madam’s courtyard was far from Gu He Yuan. By the time they arrived, the place was already in chaos.
Fu Yu’an stepped into the courtyard, took one look at the scene, and immediately wanted to turn around and leave.
In the luxurious courtyard, Qi Ren was running around with a child of unknown origin, each holding a handful of mice, chasing the maids and servants, causing an uproar.
The First Madam stood coldly at the entrance of the main hall, her face red with anger, but she only scolded Qi Ren from a distance, not daring to step forward and pull him away.
Xiao Zhu glanced around and whispered, “Your Highness, this child is dressed quite finely. He must be the young master of some noble family. This…”
Fu Yu’an nodded, pointing at Qi Ren inside and gesturing with his chin.
Xiao Zhu immediately understood, cleared her throat, and called out, “The General’s wife has arrived—”
Fu Yu’an, who was adjusting his sleeves, paused and turned to give Xiao Zhu a sharp look. She shrank back, unsure what she had done wrong.
Isn’t that how you address the General’s wife?
