The Garbage Collector Who Stumbled Upon Mythical Weapons! - Chapter 31
“Also—”
Johann hesitated slightly before speaking to the king.
“The search party reported seeing several ‘demons’ in the Vidal Forest.”
“Demons!?”
Unlike monsters, demons were said to have high intelligence, just like humans, and were considered even more dangerous.
“Were they searching for the ‘Ruler of Carnage’?”
“Probably… Also, there have been more sightings of demons outside Vidal Forest as well.”
The king placed his hand on his chin, his expression turning grim.
“Could it be that the next target of the Demon King’s army is this kingdom—Britend Kingdom!?”
“If they are gathering demons, that possibility is very likely.”
Everyone attending the meeting let out uneasy murmurs. If the Demon King’s army launched a full-scale attack, Britend alone wouldn’t be able to resist.
“If this is true, we must contact our allied nations and mobilize the ‘United Nations’ immediately.”
The king spoke with a firm tone, and Johann responded calmly.
“You are right. However, their army is the fortress of humanity’s defense. We cannot move the allied forces based on uncertain information.”
“Hmm… You have a point.”
The king leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms in deep thought.
“We will continue gathering information. Please leave it to me!”
Johann vowed to himself once again—he must protect this kingdom.

Back at his house, Garm was rummaging through the storage beneath the floor. He pulled out the “Helmet of the Wise General Frawgan.”
“Let’s put this on…”
He fitted the helmet onto his head and then turned his gaze to the black orb on the table.
It was one of the spoils they brought back from the labyrinth. After discussing it with the “Great Eagle” members, they decided that Garm, who contributed the most, should keep it.
—I’d like to sell it if it’s valuable, but I don’t even know what it is.
Garm decided to use the “Appraisal” ability of his helmet to analyze it. Holding the black orb in his hand, he activated the skill.
He had thought it was just a black crystal, but when the appraisal results appeared, he was stunned.
“…The True Core of the Black Dragon King!?”
He didn’t fully understand it, but it was clearly something rare.
—That giant spider had this, right? Maybe it’s related to its strength?
Garm had seen something similar before. He reached under the floor again and took out the Tyrant Dragon’s Magic Sword.
Looking at the hilt, he saw four colored gemstones embedded in it. Their size and texture closely resembled the black orb.
“Yeah… this has to mean something. And it even says ‘Black Dragon King’…”
Each gemstone in the sword carried the blessing of a Dragon King. It was only natural to think the True Core of the Black Dragon King was connected to it.
Garm brought the black orb close to the sword’s hilt to compare them. Then, something strange happened.
He felt a pulling force from the orb.
For a moment, he was confused, but curiosity got the better of him, and he let go.
With a small “plop,” the orb was absorbed into the center of the four gemstones.
“What!?”
Garm was speechless. He had no idea what had just happened, but when he looked again, the four gemstones had turned into five.
As he stared at the now five-colored gemstones arranged in a circle, he frowned.
“What the hell… is this?”
He activated Appraisal again to check the sword’s abilities.
[Overlord Dragon Eldorado’s Demon Sword]
Attack Power: SSS
Self-Repair
Weight Reduction
[Abilities]
Blessing of the Flame Dragon King
Blessing of the Sea Dragon King
Blessing of the Sky Dragon King
Blessing of the Thunder Dragon King
Blessing of the Black Dragon King
“Whoa! The blessings increased!”
—So, this sword can actually gain new abilities? It was already powerful, but now it’s ridiculous!
Garm quietly put the sword back under the floor.
—With this, I could probably take down almost anything… But I doubt I’ll have many chances to use it.
With the appraisal done, he was about to remove Frawgan’s helmet, but he decided to check his own status as well.
—I did kill a ton of spiders… Maybe my level went up?
He looked at his palm and activated Appraisal. When he saw the numbers displayed, his eyes widened.
Garm Orland – Lv 38
Vitality: 43
Magic Power: 26
Attack Power: 50
Defense: 36
Agility: 43
“Oh! My level went up by two! That means those spiders were seriously strong!”
He stared at the Level 38 display.
Once a person’s level exceeded 40, they reached the realm of myths. Realizing how close he was to an unbelievable level, Garm felt a surge of excitement.
“Maybe… I should aim for Level 40!”

On the outskirts of Rayford, the leader of the “Great Eagle”, Van, lived in a log house that had clearly aged over time. Green vines wrapped around the exterior walls.
As the sun began to set, street lamps lit up the town.
Van lit a lamp inside his home and took an unopened bottle of wine to the dining room. There, Clay was waiting.
The two of them sat around a solid wooden table, pouring wine into their glasses. While Clay drank greedily, Van sipped quietly.
“What do you think, Van?”
“About what?”
Van paused, his glass raised to his lips.
“It’s about Garm. His strength is completely abnormal. You realize that too, don’t you?”
“Yeah… I do.”
Van set his glass on the table and closed his eyes as if lost in thought.
“That’s not just A-rank strength. It might be a crazy thought, but… could Garm actually be one of those ‘Special-Rank Adventurers’ chosen by the guild?”
Hearing those words, Van’s eyebrows twitched slightly.
