The Garbage Collector Who Stumbled Upon Mythical Weapons! - Chapter 6
The rat charged at full speed.
Seeing it, Garm ran away as fast as he could.
But he ran straight into the horde of monsters.
“Uooooooohhh!!”
A ferocious fanged wolf, an orc swinging a massive club, and a muscular minotaur—all kinds of monsters attacked Garm, but he cut them all down as he pushed forward through the forest.
He dodged the rat’s extending arms and slashed through the monsters blocking his path.
The monsters that had been watching from the sidelines now screamed and rushed in to attack, scrambling to be the first to strike. To Garm, it was a scene straight out of hell.
But instead of fear, a fearless smile spread across his face.
“Good! Come at me even more!”
The horde of monsters surged like a black wave. The rat, angered by being obstructed, slashed at the surrounding monsters with its claws.
Seeing the enemies cluster together, Garm did not miss his chance.
He raised the Demon Sword of Overlord Dragon Eldorado high. The yellow gemstone gleamed, and crackling light spread around.
“Eat this!!”
As if responding to his downward swing, lightning rained down upon the monsters’ heads. The shock pierced their brains, burned their bodies, and claimed their lives.
Most of the monsters perished in a single strike.
Even those who survived twitched and could not move. Even the monstrous rat was momentarily frozen.
Garm dashed through, beheading the remaining monsters. He completely ignored the rat. That was his strategy.
He couldn’t win by sheer strength. Realizing this, Garm aimed to level up by defeating the surrounding monsters.
Ordinarily, a common man like Garm wouldn’t see a drastic improvement in physical ability just by leveling up.
However, his equipment boosted his strength and agility stats tenfold. The effect was immeasurable. As he ran from the rat, he held out his hand and used Appraisal.

“Alright! It’s going up!!”
He deflected the rat’s fierce slashes with his sword and blocked with his shield. Clearly, his reaction speed had improved.
—This could work! I can do this!
Leaving the rat behind, he charged toward another monster.
Excited by a human recklessly charging at them, the monsters all pounced on Garm at once.
“You guys aren’t even worth my time!”
The blue gemstone in his sword’s guard shone. As he swung his sword, freezing air burst forth, turning the surroundings into a silver-white world.
The monsters were frozen like lifeless statues, their flames of life extinguished.
—It feels like my blessing magic has gotten stronger… Could my magic power have increased?
While Garm hesitated, the pursuing rat thrust out its four arms.
He knocked down all the arms rushing at him like arrows with his sword.
—No doubt about it, my physical abilities have improved. Just a little more leveling up…
Monsters swarmed from all directions. Garm looked at his sword and confirmed that the green gemstone was glowing.
“I’ll blow you all away in one shot!!”
He swung his sword horizontally. The air it sliced through became a raging vortex, transforming into a rising tornado.
“Gugah!?”
“Giiiiiyaaahhh!!”
The monsters were torn apart and swallowed by the raging storm.
The wind cut down trees, gouged the earth, and devastated the forest. Only the rat remained standing. The other monsters had been shredded to pieces.
The rat was covered in wounds, but it regenerated instantly.
As the wind settled, Garm and the rat glared at each other.
“No more interruptions. Let’s finish this!”
“Grrrrrrrr…”
After a brief moment of silence, both stepped forward simultaneously.
In a split second, they closed the distance, and blades and claws clashed in a deadly exchange.
Garm parried numerous claw strikes with his sword. He dodged the two right arms thrust at him and sliced them off from the side.
“Gugaaaah!!”
Enraged, the rat slashed at him with its remaining two left arms. Garm swiftly dodged and retaliated, cutting off both arms.
The rat screamed in pain, its face twisted in fury and hatred.
The composure it once had was gone.
Garm stepped forward to end it before the arms could regenerate, but the rat lunged at him, refusing to back down.
Its mouth stretched wide open, aiming to bite into Garm’s shoulder.
Reacting instantly, he blocked with his shield. The [Physical Attack Reversal] effect sent the rat’s head flying backward as if it had exploded.
It staggered but managed to stay standing, bl00d dripping from its head as it glared at Garm.
The stumps of its severed arms swelled and instantly regenerated.
The rat licked its lips and lowered its stance. Garm readied his sword in response.
“No way you can regenerate endlessly, right?”
With an ear-piercing roar, the rat charged again.
Its muscles swelled, making its body more than twice its previous size. The arms growing from its back split vertically, turning into two more.
It now had six arms, all spread wide as it lunged. Garm calmly observed.
The rat swung its claws as if to embrace him—but Garm was no longer there.
He had leaped into the air.
“What’s wrong? Can’t keep up anymore?”
Using Aerial Step, he kicked the air. He kicked again mid-air to change direction. Repeating this over and over, he zipped around the rat in every direction.
The rat couldn’t keep up.
Garm slashed relentlessly—its arms, legs, shoulders, and back.
The rat tried to counterattack, but it couldn’t track his movements and was forced into full defense. It especially focused on guarding its head and neck.
—As I thought, that’s the weak point…
Garm landed and charged at the rat.
The red gemstone, once drained of magic, had regained its crimson glow. Flames ran along the blade of his sword.
The rat swung its six arms down to kill him, but Garm’s single sweeping strike severed them all.
The wounds were burned shut, preventing regeneration.
He raised his sword toward the exposed head.
“See ya!”
Without hesitation, he swung down. The sword sliced straight through the rat’s head, searing the wound as it went.
The flaming blade reached the ground, melting it and erupting like magma.
The rat’s body was engulfed in flames and reduced to ashes.
Garm stepped away and gazed at the fire rising into the sky. The flames dissolved into the night and eventually faded.
Dawn broke, replacing the darkness.
Garm sat down, removed his helmet, and lay down spread-eagle. The wind cooled his sweat-drenched forehead.
“Ahh… It’s over. I’m exhausted.”
He raised his hand and activated [Appraisal], expecting a huge level boost after defeating such a powerful monster.
But when he saw the result, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“…No way.”
◇◇◇
At the edge of the Vizal Forest.
To intercept the “Demon Lord’s Army,” the Britend Kingdom’s forces—800 strong—stood ready. Leading them, Commander Johan peered into the forest through a telescope.
But no matter how long they waited, the monsters never appeared.
“Something’s wrong… Why aren’t they coming?”
Johann was puzzled. He and his men had no idea.
That a single garbage collector had annihilated the “ Demon Lord’s Army.”
