The Genius and Calamity of the Villainous Noble: A Brilliant Prodigy Unaware of Their Reincarnation as the Game's Antagonist Defies the Scenario and Dominates with Talent and Hard Work - Chapter 1
Ark von Reinhardt.
That’s my name now, given to me after being reincarnated into another world, following the all-too-typical fate of a high school student hit by a truck.
As the “von” in my name suggests, I was born into nobility in a civilization reminiscent of medieval Europe.
Why does the language resemble German? Well, I did wonder about that at first. But since the spoken and written language, along with the currency, follows Japanese standards, I figured… it’s that kind of world.
“Fwaaaah…”
A world with magic—a setting you could best describe as a stereotypical “Naru-Europe.”
Here I am, five years old, yawning lazily under the warm, sunny sky, indulging in an afternoon nap.
At this age, there’s not much one can or should do.
When I turn twelve, I’ll have to attend an academy, but fortunately, that’s still seven years away.
“Ark-samaaa!”
“Huh?”
As I lay sprawled out, a young girl’s voice called out to me.
“Hm? What is it?”
I reluctantly sat up from where I’d been lying in the grass and turned my gaze toward the source of the voice.
There she was, a girl with shoulder-length golden hair swaying as she approached, her blue eyes fixed on me.
It was Marina, two years older than me and my fiancée. She was the daughter of an earl, while I was the third son of the Reinhardt ducal family.
A fiancée… A noble privilege bestowed upon someone like me, whose entire dating history in my previous life equaled my age: zero.
An angel.
As a socially awkward otaku in my previous life, the fact that I now had a fiancée was nothing short of miraculous. Granted, she’s still a cute little girl without… certain charms yet, but the future looks promising.
“Your father is calling for you, Ark-sama!”
Just as I was reveling in gratitude for her presence, those dreaded words reached my ears.
“…Father?”
I couldn’t help but grimace at Marina’s words.
“You shouldn’t make such an obvious unpleasant face,” she gently scolded.
“I can’t help it. I’m not good with Father… But don’t worry, I always keep a straight face in front of him. Ugh, what could he want now?”
“Sorry, I didn’t hear the details,” she replied apologetically.
“Guess I’ll find out when I get there.”
“That’s true.”
“Alright, I’ll go.”
“Okay! I’ll wait here for you!”
With a bright smile, Marina plopped down in the spot I had just vacated, closing her eyes contentedly as the sunlight warmed her.
“…I’ll be back soon.”
Casting an envious glance at the relaxed Marina, I reluctantly dragged myself toward the grand mansion that loomed nearby, where I’d been napping moments ago.
Ugh, I don’t want to go.
It’s definitely going to be a hassle. After living in this world for five years, I’ve learned one thing for certain: whenever Father calls, trouble follows.
Still, I want to resolve a few things before I head off to the academy, and for that, I need information. Guess I’ll just have to deal with it and have this conversation.
Ugh, what a pain. I really don’t want to go.
