The Genius and Calamity of the Villainous Noble: A Brilliant Prodigy Unaware of Their Reincarnation as the Game's Antagonist Defies the Scenario and Dominates with Talent and Hard Work - Chapter 1.15
I glared at my sister, Lilisha, who had just insulted Eurus, my eldest brother.
“Oh my, why are you glaring at me like that? Feeling a bit insecure, are we?”
Lilisha continued to provoke Eurus with a playful smirk.
“…”
Caught between these two volatile siblings, I desperately wanted to escape from this increasingly tense situation.
“Are you picking a fight with me, Lilisha?”
“Me? Pick a fight? Of course not. I’m merely stating the truth.”
“Is that so? It seems you’re asking to be crushed.”
“You do know, don’t you? You can’t use Father’s influence in a sibling battle. Do you really think you can beat me on your own strength?”
Eurus, the strongest candidate for the next head of the Reinhardt family, relied heavily on Father’s support and the trading companies under the family’s umbrella. Without Father’s assistance, a sibling confrontation would leave Eurus at a significant disadvantage.
“Mark my words, when I become the head of this family, I won’t forget this,” Eurus growled.
“Oh dear, how scary. But, as the head of the family, you shouldn’t go around picking fights with your own siblings. Maybe you’re not fit to be the head after all. Wouldn’t someone else be better suited for the role?”
“…I have no intention of becoming the head,” I interjected, catching Lilisha’s gaze as she turned to me.
“Hmph… like that brat could ever become the head,” Eurus scoffed.
“What are you talking about? This boy has been tasked by Father with slaying the Chaos Dragon. Father even said that if he succeeds, he could become the next head of the family,” Lilisha said with a sly smile.
“What!?” Eurus exclaimed, his expression twisting in shock.
“That’s not accurate,” I corrected. “Father has no intention of letting me succeed. He might think I’ll eventually pull it off someday, but for now, he’s just using it as an excuse to keep me far away until you’re officially declared the next head.”
“That can’t be true… What about the academy? All nobles are expected to attend once they turn twelve,” Eurus argued.
It’s true that most nobles attend the imperial academy at twelve, but it isn’t mandatory.
“I don’t need to attend the academy. Father simply wants me out of noble society altogether,” I said with a shrug.
Sadly, everything I said was the truth. Father feared me and wanted to push me as far away from the aristocracy as possible.
“I-Is that really the case…?” Lilisha asked, hesitant.
“It is. Honestly, think about it—defeating the Chaos Dragon is obviously impossible. I’m weaker than both Eurus and you, Lilisha. Even with Marina by my side, it’s hopeless. The next head of the family will undoubtedly be Eurus.”
“O-Oh… Yeah, you’re right,” Eurus muttered, nodding reluctantly.
“Exactly. Marina is determined to make it happen, though, so I’ll be heading out soon. Isn’t she just adorable? She refuses to give up, no matter how impossible the task,” I said with a grin.
“She… she really is,” Lilisha agreed with a smile.
“Indeed, that girl is truly refined,” Eurus added, surprisingly offering praise—a rare occurrence for him.
“…Eurus. If you try to take Marina away, I will crush you,” I said, glaring at him.
The mere idea of NTR (netorare) was absolutely unforgivable. If Eurus even thought of pursuing Marina, I would have no choice but to utterly destroy him.
“N-No! I’m not interested in her at all!” Eurus stammered, waving his hands defensively.
“Good. I’m glad to hear it. Well then, I’ll be off. Good day,” I said with a nod before leaving the two of them behind to resume my search for Marina.
