The Genius and Calamity of the Villainous Noble: A Brilliant Prodigy Unaware of Their Reincarnation as the Game's Antagonist Defies the Scenario and Dominates with Talent and Hard Work - Chapter 2.14
The Entrance Ceremony.
The ceremony proceeded solemnly, without incident.
The principal, an elf of legendary longevity, gave a speech. Then, the student council president—who happened to be the second imperial princess—delivered her address. Finally, since I had declined the role of freshman representative, the third prince stepped in to give the speech in my place.
To be honest, it was dull.
There was nothing remotely interesting about the entrance ceremony, and before I knew it, it was over—all while I barely managed to stifle a yawn.
“Mmm…”
As the ceremony ended, the atmosphere became lively, with students chattering all around.
This academy didn’t have traditional class divisions. Instead, students were free to enroll in any courses they wanted, as long as they met the minimum required number.
I had no firsthand knowledge of university life, since I died as a high school student in my previous life, but considering the presence of a credit system, this academy seemed more like a university than a typical primary or secondary school.
“…I should head home.”
I rose from my seat and started making my way toward the exit.
“Lord Ark, have you decided which courses you’ll be taking?”
Just as I was about to leave, Lady Rina called out to me, forcing me to stop.
**“No, not yet. I could take courses like Imperial Governance, which future dukes typically study in preparation for their duties. But since I’m already serving as the head of my house, I’m not sure I need to learn those things now.
On the other hand, it might be fun to take something completely unrelated to my position—like Herbology.”**
**“I see… That makes sense. Given your status, subjects like Imperial Governance may be redundant for you.
Since you haven’t decided yet, how about taking a tour of the available classes? We could go together and see what interests you.”**
Lady Rina offered the suggestion with a pleasant smile.
…But I wanted to go home.
There was no way I was going along with that.
Besides, I had already decided on my courses. I just couldn’t tell her that.
“I’m sorry, but I still have some responsibilities as the head of my house. I’ll have to excuse myself for today.”
“Ah, I see. Well, best of luck with your work.”
“Thank you.”
With that, I smoothly slipped away, parting from Lady Rina and leaving the academy behind.
