The Goddess Granted Me the [Hatching] Skill and Somehow I Became the Strongest Tamer, Commanding Mythical and Divine Beasts - 163
Chapter 163: Peaceful Night
“Was the shop really that amazing?!”
Back at the mansion, as I told Celia about all the magic tools and luxury items I’d seen, she got so excited that she shouted it out.
“Yeah, they were magic tools with incredible effects or things made back in the ancient civilization era. It felt like getting a tour of a museum—I really enjoyed it.”
We sat facing each other and ate dinner while I shared what had happened that day.
“I wish I could go too.”
Celia, whose dream was to become a court mage, couldn’t get enough of magic tools. She looked at me with eyes full of envy.
“Did you want to see them that badly?”
“Of course! Relics from a civilization that thrived in ancient times—they’re so romantic!”
Celia clasped her hands in front of her and gazed off dreamily. Come to think of it, she’d given the same kind of longing look to eye-catching magic tools at Charlotte’s house.
“Apparently, you can only find amazing magic tools like that in ruins or dungeons, so even nobles don’t get to see them often.”
Unexcavated ruins or untouched dungeons were a different story, but those weren’t easy to come across.
“Well, sure, but… I want to study even one magic tool myself.”
If she put it like that, I wanted to make it happen for her. She handled all the housework around the mansion every day anyway, so giving her one as thanks seemed like the least I could do.
“But they were all so pricey. Just owning one of those high-class magic tools takes so much money…”
I’d tamed Feni and Purple, supplied materials from them, and completed national adventurer requests to afford the mansion—I’d thought I had a handle on being upper class, but there were levels to this. The world’s nobles had the spare cash to buy those items.
“But you’ve got something amazing too, big brother.”
“Me?”
I tilted my head at Celia’s words.
“The Sun Sword. It’s an S-rank treasure sword, right?”
“Oh, yeah.”
Thinking back, she was spot on. The Sun Sword was something Feni had picked up in a volcanic cave—it wouldn’t look out of place in that shop.
(Come to think of it, she brought back a Sun Staff too, didn’t she?)
I’d been saving it to give Celia after she graduated school safely, but that was an S-rank item as well.
Even when I asked Feni where she’d found it, she never gave a straight answer, so I’d left it alone. But if items like that still existed out there, it might be worth investigating once.
“Big brother, what are you thinking about?”
“Oh, nothing—just that I need to apply to Princess Olivia for my next vacation…”
A trip to the Garconia Mine would take a few days. I wondered if I could talk her into it…
“You head to the castle like it’s no big deal, go to parties, and shop at exclusive invitation-only stores. It feels like you’re drifting farther away, and it makes me lonely.”
Celia murmured that softly.
“That’s not true at all. Nothing’s changed about me. I’m still your big brother, aren’t I?”
“Big brother.”
Celia scooted over beside me and leaned her head on my shoulder like she was seeking comfort.
I stroked her head gently. Moments like this made me feel as relaxed as back home.
“Someday, I’ll take you to the shop too, okay?”
We kept chatting about nothing in particular as the night wore on.
